I've never heard of Micro Center and I stopped by here a couple of weeks ago looking for 3D printer filament. They have this big rotating shelf apparatus on the wall that holds the filament boxes and by scanning a barcode on one of the color swatches by the computer, the shelves on the wall drop down and let you reach for the box you're looking for. It was a novelty, but unfortunately the store was out of every filament I was looking for. I came back today because I was in the area again and the filament shelf was mostly empty. I thought the store was out of filament but then I saw these big crates off to the side full of the boxes. An employee told me the machine had broken down and it was fixed but they weren't using it because the company that made it wants them to refill it only on certain days. That's a little weird. I found the filament I had been searching for last time and got two rolls. There was a long line at checkout and apparently the credit card system was down. Employees were explaining an alternative process where they write down your credit card info and process the transaction later when the system was operational again. Then they shred the documents with your info. I understand the concept because I've seen this before but I don't particularly trust it. Too many things can happen and someone can accidentally get a hold of my info. I asked if I could pay in cash and I was told that was the preferred payment method. Maybe they should have mentioned that at the start instead of repeating the speech about the credit stuff over and over again? Oh well. I thought my filament was $10 each but they were $15 each. A sign by the filament machine listed prices for the filament and it said rolls were $10 each, a bundle of two rolls was $19, and a bundle of four rolls was $36. It continued with specific prices for specialty filament. I figured the more you buy, the more you save but apparently this only applies to specific products and those already bundled together and not the individual boxes off the shelf. I thought about putting the filament back and leaving but I was already here and had waited this long so I bought the rolls and left. I can get filament a lot cheaper online so I doubt I'd visit this store again. At least the employees are friendly and helpful. Can you find it cheaper online at another retailer...maybe, but they have such a wide selection and staff on hand is ready to assist when needed which makes this place very valuable! read more

We came in for diagnostics on an old PC as a walk in appointment, the service there was great! While waiting for the diagnostic, we looked at Pc Monitors and were greeted by Sean. He helped us on previous visit when we bought a new PC and was omega helpful in purchasing a new monitor today. My daughter has been saving up $$ to build her own gaming PC for quite some time. We got her a gift card from Microcenter for Christmas so she could get started and of course, right after opening her gift; we had to head straight to the store lol Microcenter is new to Phoenix, but we've been to others across the country. They've got what you need for techies PLUS they are staffed with super knowledgeable geeks (like my husband) who know how to help you. Tough to find these days Christian took the time to listen to what she wanted to do- he was respectful of her budget and they walked thru all the options. Once they were done; he got a cart and started loading up all of her choices. My husband and daughter got everything put together yesterday and she's one happy gamer girl. They also have prebuilt stuff OR they will put it together for you ($250) if you're not comfortable to do it yourself. The monitor offerings were awesome as well as they have a ton of accessories for gamers etc. Nice add to the Phoenix Market!! read more

*Late post* I went the day after the grand opening day, and it was a pleasant experience even with the long line. I went at around 4pm and the store was packed. From gaming to 3D printing (my favorite section), to fancy keyboard building, each aisle was full of staff and customers. This is definitely too overwhelming for someone who's not really into IT stuff, like me haha! Customer service still needs room for improvement. I can totally tell when the floor staff members are in their role, and why the cashiers are...Humm...no facial expressions... I think if we gave the store a couple more months, they will get better. read more

Hubby and I are a very geeky couple and true to our nature, we planned a day date to the very first Micro Center in Arizona on Friday, the 21st. This location is a much welcome addition to town after Fry's Electronics slow downfall and eventual closure. Now having been to Micro Center twice over a 7 day period because Hubby forgot to purchase a critical item needed for his project - this is FAR superior than Fry's Electronics. The store itself is beautiful, large, and bright. It still has that new construction smell that I love. The staff is amazing, knowledgeable, and plentiful. There is a lot of associates floating throughout so it's easy to talk to someone if you need help. I was able to listen in on a few conversations between the staff and shoppers and it's so impressive that the staff are so knowledgeable about a lot of stuff. With this location being in a large shopping complex, parking is easy and spacious. Also with this being a new location with booming business, the parking lot may be busy and you may have to park and walk further. Hubby did a lot of price comparisons between here and Amazon and the prices for many items are the same. If there is a high value item that is needed, we will be going here whenever possible instead of Amazon. We will have it in our hands the same day instead of taking the chance of the item being stolen in transit with Amazon. We don't live anywhere close at all but it's worth the hassle. To the Micro Center powers - I hope you will open another location! Extra bonus if it's close to me! read more

I dropped my laptop and completely obliterated the screen. I thought it couldn't possibly be fixed. Instead, the repair technicians did a phenomenal job at repairing it, to the point where it looks brand new. I'm incredibly grateful for their skills, service, and how quickly they were able to service it, especially considering they had to special order many of the parts. I love the store in general, and frequented the ones in Cambridge, MA and Denver, CO, so am glad to have one in Phoenix. There is no readily available phone number for the store online, preventing from calling to verify stock of a low-stocked item. Not everyone that lives in Phoenix lives in PHOENIX, and It's more than an hour, one-way to go to the store. read more

Welcome to Phoenix! We are long overdue for a new tech store that isn't the run of the mill and have been desperately needing a void that was once Fry's electronics to be filled. Spacious parking lot that is shared with plenty of other businesses, be prepared to park in the further lot when busy. The store itself may seem flush but could be the electronics filled to the roof of the store. They pretty much carry every PC component, gadget, Networking, IT gear you could think of. Yes it has TVs, 3d printers, but don't expect appliances like the other stores that come to mind. Find your dish washers and fridges elsewhere. I came in for a new graphics card and had a pretty good idea of what I wanted. Staff was polite enough to hear me out and confirm that what I was looking for fit my needs and wouldn't be an issue. I love just walking around and stumbling upon deals or new things I didn't know I needed. Shopping online has its conveniences but clicking a mouse or typing on a laptop on person before purchasing is a different feeling. It's also nice to know that they can support your returns or warranty products. read more

In 2026 a totally ridiculous business model- they dont publish the store phone number. You have to call a number in Ohio and go through some crazy junk and within just 18 minutes they can connect you to the store. Are you kidding? Imagine if you have a customer service question. I drove 35 minutes only to find out they didn't have a power cord that is relatively common. The two employees in the store who tried to help me were nice enough, but clueless. You can definitely find some deals for filament online and the cheap brand has a lot of negative reviews. Be careful! You'd think a good store would rather not sell something than put out a product people say warps easily or fails to print, but a sale is a sale I suppose. It would just be nice to go somewhere and know they only stock what they trust. I stuck to the filament with good reviews that wasn't over priced and found the filament vending machine to be interesting, if slow when you're there to stock up. Checkout was fine. The man at the register had a printer at home and enjoyed showing off the snakes he'd made. It set him apart as knowledgeable and was a good way to show off the filament so I hope he got a discount, lol. read more

I shopped at Denver MicroCenter for years and I've been waiting for this store for ages, so I was pretty disappointed to drive halfway across town only to find out their stock of MICRO ELECTRONICS (LEDs,buttons, wires, controllers) is just a laughing stock of mismatched left overs. No wall of parts bins with tons of variety, just a few vertical racks of hanging bulk bags with no real organization. I went in for electronic parts and I left with nothing. It's a big and pretty store, but it's clearly focused toward PC sales now and less of an electronics store. I resorted to Amazon to get a handful of buttons, transistors and LEDs. I'm very surprised this new location doesn't have any of that. (Or at least enough variety to justify another trip there). read more

The property itself is very impressive and while we did have to wait in a substantial line, it went very quickly to get inside at opening. The overall space was well designed even being very busy. Stock was low, but was a grand opening so I really can't hold it against them permanently. I will check back in a month or so and re-review based on when it calms down. Again, customer service was mediocre at best. There were a lot of people offering to help, but they didn't have great customer service skills. The things that I wanted to get were mostly all sold out by the time I got to them and I can't review based on their stock just yet. As an IT person, this is an extremely convenient space to have. I just wish it was closer to my house, but it's close to my work, which is fantastic. Grand opening pricing could be better. Some things were on sale for a significant amount, but most of it was at Amazon pricing or similar pricing. Don't know if they do price match didn't see anything that suggested that they do. It would behoove them maybe to get a door buster item that's near the entrance didn't see anything that was greatly on sale. Best Buy does this all the time and they sell out of stuff very quickly when they put their biggest on sale items near the doors and I didn't see that. read more
