A variety of unique drinks such as a zero sugar watermelon and strawberry flavored sparkling seltzer water. Thanks Donna O.! Interesting items you won't find in a Safeway. Similar to 1-2 Buy, but on a much smaller scale. Service was 4/5 stars. Nice lady said she will contact me when the ginger plum candy comes into the store! Free parking is limited here. Careful as you enter and exit the parking lot. Big dip. Prices appear reasonable here. Check expiration dates before buying. Ambiance: 2/5 stars. Food: Drinks were refreshing and hydrating. 4/5 stars

Shopping in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. Donna O. raved about Provinces Snacks on School Street. I read her review and knew that the shop had some free parking spaces next to the snack/convenience store. One thing that could be improved in the shop is the air-conditioning... I think there was none. Service was very pleasant! The cashier knew Donna when I mentioned her name. Shop keepers usually want to know how you found out about them. Merchandise was plentiful and had much variety. Basic groceries, cookies, candies, chips, etc. were neatly arranged on the shelves. Sanrio character plushies, keychains, and other items were either by the cashier or behind her. I looked at the Sale Items and got the Roasted garlic-flavored peanuts. They were good, but didn't have much garlic essence. LOL! I'll return and try something else like Spiced Braised Beef Flavor Lay's potato chips!

You can find some local products and gourmet food supplies that you may not be able to find at other places. You will find frozen products and produce in the chiller and containers, utensils & plastic bags and other restaurant supplies. Sometimes they have specials going on and gourmet items that you will need to make your dish a stand out. It great to browse around and see what they have. They have free memberships for Ohana and business memberships. For businesses, can enter 2 hour prior from regular memberships. Although they may not turn away paying customers if they happened to show up early. There's enough free parking available. Recently forgot something in my cart and I took a chance to call if anyone turned it in. Yay, they had it on their log and so grateful. The chef zone's red roof can be seen from afar! It's located at Ualena street and close to Lagoon Drive! Sign up and your card will be ready when the next time you visit again.

I was a vendor at a recent Christmas craft fair at Dole Cannery and stumbled on Blah's because it was the only food vendor there. THIS. THIS IS WHAT SMOKED MEAT tastes like. Holy smoked meat you guys. You gotta sampo if you ever come across this booth. I think the only way to get your hands on his meat is to visit the air conditioned farmers markets. Yeah, this is my kind of guy, only doing business in the A/C! Basically you have to catch him at Windward Mall farmers markets inside the mall or at these air conditioned Christmas craft fairs. He sells most of it uncooked, so you just have to throw it in a fry pan when you get home. I was lucky enough to get a bento with smoked meat/rice to go, and I inhaled it all. Do yourself a flavor and find this guy and buy a slab of his meat. Get one for me too.

Not only did I love the sample but my 7 year old boy loved it. My intention was to walk through the whole farmers market and come back to get a bento. Well that didn't last long. After a few mins I went back to get my smoked meat bento. My son and I shared the bento and we are both full. Not sure if they use guava Jam or jelly but I could definitely taste the sweet but it was equally balanced with the savory of the what I'm assuming is soy and other spices. The meat was tender and had just enough fat to balance it all out. The sauce over the rice was winner! Mahalo Blahs Bonus: the guy selling the smoked meat was awesome too. Super friendly and even offered my son 2 samples

The store is neat and well organized. In the morning, fresh rice cakes, mochi and other desserts are dropped off by a local bakery. Store patrons rush to get their favorites. I avoided the temptation, but the treats looked remarkable. The store carries what you'd expect from a grocery plus lots of specialty items for Asian cooking. We also picked up teriyaki sauce. There is a food court on one side of the supermarket that offers prepared lunch options (but was not opened during our visit). The clerks were friendly and welcoming.
