Sam and Bassam were amazing! Several months ago, our car got really dented up in a Texas hail storm. Since we were moving to Evanston, we decided to wait to repair it here, and I'm so glad we did. They were so wonderful to work with, and I really appreciated working with a family-run business. Their attention to detail was amazing; our truck (F150 lightning) looked better when they were done than the day we drove it off the lot on the day we bought it. The hood damage was so extreme they had to order a new hood; when they were shipped the wrong hood, they made sure to communicate quickly with me about the delay, and it was absolutely worth the wait. They even went as far as putting "Sam" outside their body shop. They pulled us over on our way to Sam's Auto and tried to tell us they were Sam. Then they told us to pay a deposit so we would get STUCK using with their terrible service. These guys are NOT LEGIT. Had a friend borrow my car and she got into a car accident with my car. Went to this body shop a few years back for my old car and knew this was the place to go again. I gave the Geico insurance adjuster Sam's (the owner) phone number and they correlated the appointment together and everything. It was hassle free and my car was ready in 2 weeks. Looks like new. My insurance paid for everything I just had to pay my deductible. Everything was very simple, great work. This is my 2nd time coming here. Hopefully I don't have to come ever again. I had the worst experience here. Had to call the police to get my car back! . My insurance company referred. Me to a near by auto shop. I came to this location on accident and asked if they were it. A man stepped out and said that he was Sam and it was his shop saying he knew about my insurance claim and was expecting me. Clearly lying to my face with no remorse. After dropping off my car and filling out the paperwork I followed up with the insurance company. They called me back Mid day saying they reached out to the auto shop and my car was never received. I was panicked and had to step away from my desk so I can give the insurance shop a call , they too confirmed the car was not dropped off at the location. I ended up leaving work going to the location where I dropped off my car and on arrival found my car taken apart. The bumper on the floor all the screws and housing taken off. I asked them what they were doing and the "owner" said he opened up the car so the insurance company can come see it. After speaking to my insurance and looking up information online I found out this was not the location I was supposed to go to and the owner just lied to me so he could get my car in the door. Shady mechanics, now I know why people have a hard time trusting auto shops. I was furious and fought with them quite a bit before they agreed to put my car back together so I could drive it out. The man wanted to charge me for labor and 2 days worth of storage for the "work and time" he put in. I told him I am not paying anything since he lied about who he was and baited me into leaving my car. He wouldn't budge until I called the police. , finally getting my car back I drove to another auto shop to make sure all my pieces were put on properly. read more

Extremely disappointed. Talk to someone named BASS we touted how well he could fix my car saying it would be like new. Before we left he made us sign something and did not give us a copy or anything. when we finally got our car the paint color was off and did not match with the rest of the vehicle. We told him this and he asked us if we were stupid? saying the colors are the same and our eyes are wrong. I unfortunately ended up here as my employee damaged my car and begged me to get it fixed form mid-America as it was her dad's friend. She wanted to get it done cheap because she didn't want to put it on her insurance. Lets just say this place is almost a scam not very business like. This guy gave me the quote , which was not really any cheaper then someone else would have charged me. The day I took the car in I asked him if he can touch-up a paint chip on side while he is fixing the bumper. He didn't quite do that , he just scraped off the paint. He went about telling my employee and her father that he charged so much cause he fixed my old damages to ruin my relationship with my employee . HIs quote was given regardless of knowing about the paint chip I asked him to fix which he didn't. But to expalin to his friend he lied. the work he did was ok not great. My bumper is still crocked. And he is a liar. will be posting pictures of damage he claims to his friend he fixed which he didn't . I brought my 2016 Mercedes C300 here for some breaks work in the past week. Initially I came for an estimate. It was a little hard to understand the workers so I asked for the manager. Unfortunately the manager also had pretty bad English but I thought these guys were honest workers so I went on with the breaks job. When I went to pick up my car from them Friday everything looked fine. The initial estimate price was $160 for my front 2 breaks. When I was rang up the middle eastern man tried charging me $304.87. I tried to ask the man why however just started yelling at me in Arabic. I was born in Wilmette and didnt understand the language and tried to tell him that. From what the man said they replaced all my breaks...this place tries CHEATING you out of your money. They call themselves Mid-America body shop with a sign that says Sams outside weird. I've reported this place to the Better Business Bureau and of course they said that they know about this place and it has been FLAGGED. I see they've gotten people they know to write reviews for them. Unfortuantely I found out the hard way that these reviews ARE FAKE. I worked with Mid America Body Shop (MABS) March of 2016. They are located on Main in Evanston, Il. My experience was fantastic. On pulling in, my car was immediately received. I had 10 different pieces of body damage including, scrapes and knicks across 3 doors, dented mirror, cracked wind shield, dented bumper, cracked tail light, dented right wheel hubcap. I was given an honest estimate immediately and scheduled for when to return for repair. I was told clearly that I would need to leave my car for a week. As the world would have it I was required to reschedule for a week later, this was received well and the shop was flexible with ordering the parts and when I could come in. They accepted cash, credit, check as payment. The car was completed in 2 days of an estimated 5. All the replacements look immaculate, including the paint and the rear right hubcap wheel, which I had been told by two autobodies could not be done without replacing the entire panel (cost circa 2000). My vehicle is a 2010, it looks like a 2016 after their paint job. In addition to all the impressive repairs the shop cleaned the inside of my car. Vacuumed all my floors, mats, cushions,seats. glossed/dusted my panels, dash. There were paper mats on the floors after it was cleaned. AND to add this excellence, I had a rental car. They brought my car back to budget (so I could return my rental) and rode with me back to MABS. The price for all their work was very reasonable. They are conveniently located across from the gas station, which you will likely find useful. I have worked with about 5 autobodies in 30 years. I give them my highest recommendation. read more
