I have had this company out 6 times to repair my Samsung refrigerator and each time they claim to have fixed the issue, it still does not cool. Samsung refuses to send another company due to the warranty. This company continues to fail at diagnosing the issue and will not mark the unit as unrepairable because all they want to do is keep getting easy money from Samsung. Avoid at all costs. My fridge has been unusable for 7 weeks and all I get is "I really do apologize" and it doesn't help when I'm living out of a mini fridge. read more

Requested a warranty repair or estimate for repair of my Whirlpool fridge because based on their website where they are authorized to repair Whirlpool brand appliances. As it turns out they are NOT authorized to perform warranty repairs for Whirlpool. I was told this only after they performed the troubleshooting for which they charged me approx $100. Mid America Electronics & Appliance Service (located at 328 Jungermann Rd, St Peters, MO 63376) made two visits to my property, and after a visit in May 2020 in which they were ill-equipped to perform the service, they sent a gentleman named David on June 9, 2020, who spent all day in my condo "fixing" the washer. He was exceptionally kind; that said, he left a huge water stain on our newly refinished bamboo floors, and a technician later found that he not only did not actually fix the machine, but he also removed necessary parts and left the motor on the floor of the washer! What is worse is that I called Mid-America to schedule a service call (as David and Rebecca CLEARLY stated that their work was guaranteed for 90 days) in mid-August 2020, and a woman named Samantha reneged on a follow-up visit. I was furious and promised her that this was not the last she would hear from me, hence this review. I'm exceptionally reticent to ever leave a one star review for any business, but this experience was beyond the pale for me. Extended warranty company on my fridge required me to use them. Took 4 days for them to come out. Ordered parts and came back 10 days later and installed them. Said it was fixed but fridge still won't cool. Called them the next morning and was told I would have to file new claim with extended warranty. Called different repair company who was able to fit me in that day that fixed the problem in 10 minutes. Back panel in freezer was not secured. Cost me $100 but at least my fridge works now. No thanks to mid America!!!!!! read more

I was routed to them for my samsung refrigerator service request. I have full warranty with Samsung and homedepot and its supposed to be of no cost. They sent out a technician who was very patient and explained everything . They needed me to switch off my refrigerator for 24 hours at-least so they could come back , since this is highly inconvenient I asked for time to figure this out when the company called me asking for a date of schedule. My request was open for 2 weeks and they dint have a future date on file for 2 days. They called me to cancel the service request if I cant say for certain that I will be able to defrost my refrigerator and tehn charge me 49$ if its not defrosted when they came back out. Sounds like some lame ass shit to me. So I asked them to cancel their service request. read more

I was sent to them for a Samsung Dryer Warranty request. I did NOT choose them. It took 5 days for them to send out a technician. The technician was a great guy (That's why I give them two stars) and he told me I needed a new ignitor but the ignitor he brought was broken. So . . . I had to schedule a new appointment. Mid America said they could send out another technician, not the next day . . . but TEN days later. When I asked why so long as it was their error, they said it would take 5 - 7 days to get the part. (It took me 2 days to get the part from Amazon. I took me 15 minutes to watch a YouTube video on how to replace the ignitor. It took me 10 minutes to replace the ignitor.) I had an excellent experience with Mid America Service. My 20+ year DCS gas stove developed a problem that caused the smaller of the two ovens to cycle on and off randomly. I found Mid America is the repair service for DCS (now apparently part of Fisher Paykel). I read the negative reviews but called them anyway. I am very glad I did. The technician, Adam, was on time, courteous and efficient. Although he had to order a part that was backordered, he disconnected the oven in the meantime so there would be no danger. The part arrived within two weeks (happily, some of the COVID supply chain issues are waning) and Adam returned to install it. He even fixed the oven door that had become wonky! I am appreciative of the company's professionalism and Adam's expertise. read more

Let's start with they can't tell you whether you will have a morning appointment or afternoon appointment until the day before the appointment. Even then, they can't tell you if you are the 1st appointment, second or even the last appointment . . . just IN THE MORNING. I called Mid America and told them I needed a new ice maker . . . I gave them the brand and model of my refrigerator . . . I was told they would have to come out and diagnose the problem because if they ordered the wrong part, they could not return. Service call - $125.00 1st Appointment - Morning Appointment -- Tech came in, confirmed I needed an icemaker and would order . . also told me I had plumbing issues (there was no water shutoff to the refrig) -- Time off from my work - 4 hours + Invoice from Mid West for 500+ Dollars 2nd Appointment - A week later -- Morning Appointment - Tech came in at 12:10 pm, installed icemaker and a "valve" . . . wait a minute, ice maker works but now the water dispenser doesn't work . . . he again tells me "plumbing issues" and insinuates the water dispenser didn't work before. But I reminded him, we discussed it on his first visit and I had even used it the day before the installation of the icemaker. Time off from my work: 5 hours Called the plumber . . . cut a hole in the downstairs ceiling and installed a shutoff valve and replaced the plastic tube with copper. Water dispenser not working - Not a plumbing issue - Time off from work: 2 hours plus a plumbing bill Called Mid America . . . no service call charge, but I would be charged for additional parts . . . if I chose not to repair, a $45.00 charge. And of course, they still cannot commit to any specific appointment time. Okay, now I am down 12 hours from work, 500+ for refrigerator repair plus a plumber's invoice for two hours . . .and they want another four-hour commitment from me . . . and what are the chances they will have any parts on their truck. I made a decision . . . water out of the tap is free . . . and I will consider any other appliance repair company or replace the appliance before using this company again. read more

An employee called me and said she needed my LG receipt for my refrigerator that i just purchased. I had already provided it to LG but for some reason i also needed to supply it to them. So, i emailed the copy and was told that i had an appointment for the repair on Friday between 8am and Noon. No one showed to do the work. I call the office and they reply it was never scheduled. then they cannot get out until the next wednesday. exceptionally poor service go somewhere else do not use. read more

Too bad they seem to be the only GE servicer in the area. Scheduled for a service appointment via GE, so I waited for almost a month but no one from Mid America called to confirm. So I had to call Mid America in the morning of the service appointment date and they said their technician was not in and had to reschedule me, which meant I had to wait for another several weeks. They should have called to confirm the day before the scheduled service, and since it was their fault they didn't do it, they should have made it right by giving me priority. I will definitely write to GE and ask them to switch to another servicer. read more

Situation with my oven giving off an F1 beep . . . incessantly. It's been going on for a while. But intermittently, so I was living with it. I could hit Cancel, and that was working . . . until last week. Now, when I hit Cancel, it starts up again before I've even turned my back. I called Dacor. Recommendation was cut the circuit. Wait two minutes. Re-engage. I did it. Three times. It keeps beeping. There are not too many things more annoying. Dacor gave me two local places to call for remedy. I called Mid America at 4 p.m. Friday. They had someone available between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday. BINGO!! At 10:45 a.m., I got a call that they were close and would arrive within a few minutes. The guy arrived promptly in a Mid America branded truck and wearing a company shirt. There were two possibilities regarding the F1 beep. One meant the clock circuit was acting up and could be replaced for about $500. The other meant the entire control panel is kaput, and is now unavailable from the manufacturer, so no replacement possible. The ovens are only 13 years old. Well, guess which answer I got? So, if I can live through the beeping, the bottom oven will heat, 'cause the circuitry error is in the top oven. Not a long-term solution, but possibly salvageable until the kitchen remodel in September. The Mid America guy was very efficient and knowledgeable, and he gave me some great ideas for replacements, including a Sharp microwave in a drawer (top-loading) and an entire separate ice machine ('cause refrigerator ice makers are crappy, crappy, crappy; and about a year ago I paid $750 to get mine fixed). read more

We were referred to Mid America Service by our home warranty company for a dryer repair. Within 3 business days of the initial warranty call, they had a technician available and dispatched to our house. Paul showed up with his tool bag, ladders, and knowledge of our dryer, got right to work disassembling it, and diagnosed the problems quickly! After reading many other reviews of other companies our warranty company tried to send our job to, I was worried parts would take a few weeks to be available. Not the case! Paul opened his bag and had the idler arm assembly and a spare roller wheel on hand. An hour later the dryer was back together and quiet again! Paul was very professional and quick, wore a mask correctly (over nose and mouth) the full time, and respected social distancing as best he could in our tight hallway. I also want to highlight the front office staff, as each person I spoke to was very professional and considerate. I'd highly recommend Mid America Service to anyone looking for a dryer repair. We will keep them on our shortlist for future issues! read more

I would not use this company. We were referred by the company we purchased an icemaker from. They have scheduled 5 appointments for this repair and have cancelled 3 of them on the day of the appointments. Today was the third cancellation. Unless they have had this cancellation issue with the other customers scheduled today I feel some juggling should have been done to accommodate our appointment. Each time it has been the technicians unable to come to work. I understand this happening but for it to have happened to us 3 times it seems they need to change things if they want to run a successful business. A big problem with the way they schedule is that they cannot give you a window of time until the day before your appointment. On top of this I have always been given a 5 hour window. read more

We had a service guy come over in few weeks but that was not the worse part. When he came over (Michael R) he fix our refrigerator very quickly and everything look great. I was very happy till after he was gone, I found out one of my insulins for my diabetic medicine is gone too. it was right front of the door and I did not even think of he would do such a thing but it is gone now.. and I can not get any more till my insurance allows me to get another one. Service for an appliance repair was scheduled for 3/4 via Home Depot Protection on 2/22. 24 hours later received a call stating that they were unable to honor their commitment to perform the service and it was my responsibility to contact Home Depot Protection and inform them that Mid America would not be conducting the service as promised and to find another appliance repair company. Did not follow-up as promised and poor customer service. Would not recommend even bothering to schedule since they broke their commitment in 24 hours. read more

They were called to repair our Fisher-Paykel dishwasher. The service rep showed up on time and spent a total of about 45 minutes. He replaced a "stuck" valve. We were charged over $300. When I questioned this exorbitant bill, he said "it was a bitch." The breakdown was $79 for the call, $59 for the new valve and $200 for the labor. TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES OF WORK!!! I complained. He said he had authorized this excessive charge with my wife. She says he didn't. I called his supervisor, a snotty woman, who offered to have him return and remove the new valve. No chance I would let this VERY DISHONEST person near our appliance so he could sabotage it. In my opinion, Mid-America is not an honest or ethical dealership. I have to deal with this company simply because there is no other choice to service my Fisher Pykel fridge. First, I had to call the manufacturer and they were nice enough to cover their initial visit and send them the parts for repair free of charge. Then their tech shows up three weeks later, spends 2.5 hours replacing the harness (half an hour was spent to call manufacturer to confirm that the new color of the harness is okay...). So the harness was replaced, but the problem still remains. I got charged $150, nothing was fixed and they claim that when the tech came back to verify everything was working. If only I press harder on the water dispenser. Very unpleasant experience. I will probably get a different fridge if it breaks again so I do not have to deal with Mid America "service" read more

I had no choice in repair provider as this was a warranty issue. Was lied to by Brittany, the office manager, told that they just got approval to order part from warranty company to fix my refrigerator yesterday after waiting a week and a half. After speaking with the warranty company, turns out only one call made from Mid America requesting approval and that approval was given on the same day. So Mid America did nothing for almost 2 weeks, while I'm without a refrigerator Called back to Mid America and was told that was correct, when I asked why it took almost 2 weeks for the part approval process to begin, I was told they called prior but was put on hold and they did not call back again until my third call to them asking about the status on the part. So it's now nearly a month without a refrigerator. I insisted that I get an appointment set up without waiting until the part comes in to schedule which is their usual routine. Brittany said she would do this as a courtesy...really??? Maybe getting the part overnighted and installed the next day might be a courtesy but lying and misleading by Brittany was definitely not a courtesy. BTW, the review I left on their website was taken down. Next stop the Better Business Bureau. read more

I called the first week in June. Then the second week they came out to see what was wrong with my oven. While they were at my house the service was paid for (Consultation, parts and labor). I was told that the part was out so it will take 5 - 7 business days. I waited a week and a half to call to check on the part. The person said I was on the list to get a call the day I called back. The person I spoke to said the first open day to get someone out was in July. I understand the COVID -19 is going on but paying for service and being told they will be back when the part come is not good service at all.Not the mention having to wait just about a month to get what I paid for is just not acceptable. read more

Called for two repairs. Was told $79 for first diagnostic and $60 for the second. I knew from the error message what parts were needed and asked the office to please let me know PRIOR to them coming how much the parts were. They said they'd call me back - they didn't. When they called to confirm I again asked about the quote, they asked for my email and said they would send it. Never did. Then for my 8-12 window, I got a call about 10:45 saying they had a flat and would be late. They got her closed to 1:40 pm. They were here for less then 30 min (do they are quick once here, they get a point for that,) then told me the parts were going to be $373.00 Plus $300 Labor. Plus some other fee. I just ordered the parts from the manufacture for $200 and will be putting them in myself. Could have saved the $139 diagnostic and 6 hours of my life if I had gotten the quote I asked for twice and had found out that they double the price of their parts. Not sure I'll call them again. Inconsiderate, Unprofessional, and Incompetent Inconsiderate - Mid America Service, a certified Miele installer, made and appointment to install my Miele dishwasher between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. At approximately 11:00 AM, the installer hadn't arrived nor had I been contacted by Mid America Service. Concerned, I called the local office to ask if the installer would still be able to install the dishwasher during the scheduled time frame. The answer was "no". I was told that the installer would arrive to install the dishwasher "around 1:30 or 2:00" -- 1.5 to 2 hours after the scheduled appointment. I was also told that a manager would call me back -- no manager called. Thanks to Mid America, my entire morning was wasted and I had to reschedule my afternoon commitments. Unprofessional - Once the installer finally arrived, he proceeded to behave in an incredibly unprofessional manner. During the install, he bragged about how he was the best installer in town and, as if that wasn't odd enough, he then proceeded to disparage other installation companies and individuals by name (he went so far as to accuse another installer of sexually harassing a client). Seriously? This from a guy who shows up 1.5 hours late? This from a guy who neglects to install the dishwasher properly (see Incompetent below)? Incompetent - As the installer was leaving, I noticed that he was taking with him what appeared to be a thick piece of felt insulation that came with the dishwasher. Curious, I asked him what it was. He told me that it was extra packaging material. It seemed odd to me that this particular piece of packaging material would be different from the other packaging material in which the dishwasher arrived (felt vs. styrofoam). So, after he left, I looked at the installation instructions -- the felt piece he took with him was supposed to be installed as sound dampening insulation. I called the installer to ask about this; he never returned my call. So now, I have a really expensive dishwasher that wasn't installed properly. To put it mildly, Mid America Service is inconsiderate, unprofessional, and incompetent. I do not recommend them. read more

Completely incompetent. Lowe's sent them to fix my dryer. Before they arrive the first time the dryer made a lot of noise but it dried our clothes. After they "fixed" it there was less noise but it took 2-3 cycles to dry a load of clothes. Called Lowe's back and they sent the same folks back. The technician says there's no noise he can hear and everything works just fine. Now I've got to call Lowe's back and tell them the dryer still isn't working right. My recommendation is find another company. Clearly these folks either don't know what they're doing or they're incompetent, at least the ones around Springfield, MO. read more

The latch on my dishwasher broke and since it couldn't latch, it wouldn't run. I had purchased the extended warranty and called the warranty company which gave the ticket to Mid America. Everyone I spoke to at Mid America was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. It was a pleasure talking to them. The service man came out, found the problem within seconds (a piece was bent which wouldn't allow the handle to latch) and fixed it. It took longer to complete the paperwork than it did to fix the problem! I'd love to give them five stars, but I can't. It took a week for them to come out. My dishwasher was totally out of commission and their first available appointment was a week out. They offered to put my on their cancellation list and did actually come out a day earlier than scheduled. I don't know, it may have been because it was warranty work, but I would certainly have called around to find someone who could come out earlier if I was given the opportunity. I will definitely call them first next time I need service, but will call around if they can't come out sooner than a week. read more

WOULD BE ZERO STARS BUT HAD TO GIVE AT LEAST ONE. A Mid-America rep came to our house on behalf of Lowe's to do a repair on our refrigerator. The refrigerator seal was bad and the icemaker was dripping. In the process, not only did he short out the electronics on the fridge (have to wait 7 more business days for parts) but while he was at it BROKE the water line to the icemaker behind the fridge. Water ran for well over 24 hours through the floor into the ceiling, walls, and carpet of our finished basement. DISASTER! Need to do complete new drywall, painting, carpet etc. not to mention the sports colelctibles that were damaged as a result. When the Mid-America management rep came to look at the damage, he rudely brushed it off and told us to handle it with our own insurance company. At a minimum, we will be oot our $500 deductibleplus $582 plumbing not covered by insuance not to mention hours and hours of our own time cleaning up, etc. NO RESPONSIBILITY HERE! It took over 2 weeks to get my LG washing machine fixed by this place, I would never call them again. The machine sent an error code that it was the clutch motor. The first guy was not familiar with LG products so he called tech support, they recommended replacing the PC board, after a few days the new board came and did not fix the problem. He contacted tech support again and they said try the the clutch motor (duh!!!) and the motor wiring harness. It took over a week to get those parts. Believe it or not the new motor fixed the problem. If I hadn't been paying attention and had clue technically they would have replaced the harness also at an additional $100. The last 2 guys did seem capable, but also were not familiar with LG products. read more

I drove my microwave to their offices in St Peter. The only issue it had was that it was not heating. This happened on 10/16/2018. I did not hear from them until I called to follow up on 10/30/2018. I received a call from them later that week asking me if the the display had an issue, which I responded to them that no, it did not had an issue. The lady that called said that that the technician had noted the the display was acting funky, and I should consider changing it. I told he it didn't have a problem and at that point I would replace the unit for a new one. Another follow up call from my end and finally I was able to pick it up on 11/6/2018 (count the days with me, more than 18 days). To my surprise the display was completely messed up and the front panel was loose. Immediately I called them to review the situation and they told me they would call me back. A technician called me, but from the start he was very rude, he said the displays are deteriorate by being unplugged. When I pointed that it was unplugged at his shop for over 2 weeks he replied "it is not my problem". I asked for a supervisor, he said nobody higher than him was there and hang up on me. I called back to speak to a manager and had to leave a message, but nobody ever called me back. I've been waiting for a call to review the situation but after 4 days, I decided I 'd write a review. I used them before for larger repairs, their staff was usually kind, and I was satisfied in the past, but after this experience I will never work with them again nor recommend them. read more
