I have one that is 7(ish) years old, and it was bugging me for the last week, so I went to Talk to Donovan about removing it. After giving it a check out, he told me not to remove it, why, and how to save it. Three days later, it's feeling so much better! He was really professional, polite, ad knowledgeable. All this place is a rip off. I bought an ST tattoo jacket there and they never gave it to me because they had the wrong size. But the owner said after getting a 300 to 600 tattoo done. He said that he'll order it in my size. I told him, If not I'll take the extra large whatever it doesn't matter. But what he did. It was take over $100 from me and never gave me my jacket and when I went to go ask for my jacket, they acted like they didn't even know who I was and that's not including the tip that I gave him because I gave him a pretty nice tip. DO NOT GO TO FRANKIE UNLESS YOU WANT EXACTLY HIS STYLE because he will agree to do the style you show him and then do it in his style and not even tell you till it's already done (Screen shots of everything with the tattoo artist- prof that he knew what exactly what I wanted and did what he wanted instead regardless that it was going on my body) Went to this shop to get a tattoo from Frankie. I previously got a tattoo by him a year ago that I really liked it. I sent him a photo of what I wanted this time which was very different from my other tattoo I had done by him. When he was drawing up the tattoo I asked if I could see the process and he said sure, he never once told me he'd prefer if I didn't watch him create the tattoo. As he began pulling stuff from online to create the tattoo I watched and made a couple comments like, I'd prefer the flowers to not be overlapping, could you bring the leafs down a little bit. Nothing crazy. I also reiterated multiple times that I wanted this tattoo to be very fine lines, simple and very minimal shading as to match the art I had sent him and he said he understood, I wanted it to be dainty and feminine. He printed out the stencils and I asked if he could make it smaller, which he replied "no, I don't want to do that I won't be able to make it look as good if I do that." I should have known then this was a red flag. As a talented tattoo artist you'd think it would be no problem to make a tattoo smaller especially since I was not asking for a detailed tattoo. I reluctantly said okay. Even thought the stencils had thick stems compared to my thin stem photo I wanted I thought it would still look okay as a minimalistic outline without much shading. Then we put the stencil on and we started. About half way through I had to go to the bathroom. When I did I noticed he had started to do a lot shading in 2 of the 3 flowers and starting a little on the stem. When I got back to the chair I reiterated that I know he's already started to do some shading, but to please keep it extremely minimal as I do not want a lot of shading and definitely not anymore in the flowers he'd already done. His response was "I have a certain style I like to tattoo" which I replied I know but I really don't want a lot of shading to which he said "look I'm going to do what I think looks best" at that point I should have just walked out. But I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to confronting people and didn't know what to do(this was only my second tattoo) After he finished and I looked in the mirror I noticed it was way more shaded than I ever wanted it to be, he even added more shading to the flowers he has previously started. I told him it looked good but on the inside my heart sank I was so upset. I immediately regretted it and started looking up how long I had to wait until I could get it removed. Don't get me wrong it was a well done tattoo but that doesn't mean it's what I want on my body forever. I can look at my friends tattoo as say oh they're pretty but that doesn't mean they are for me. The next day I texted him to let him know how upset I was and how I honestly wanted to get it removed and would be going elsewhere in the future to someone who listed to what their client wants and not just put something on SOMEONE ELSES BODY just because they prefer that style. I put a couple ideas together and he really helped them come alive For those wondering or looking for inspiration, I got this as a memorial tattoo for my aunt who's favorite flowers are Lillie's (these are hibiscus but there's an OG lily in the right corner) it's a triangle for the three most important women in my life; my aunt and two sisters. They're my whole world and helped shaped me into who I am and molded the idea of what a woman should be in my head, and I am so grateful for that. Jason, the owner of the shop, did an absolutely *incredible* job on my ink! I wanted to cover up a (very large) scar on my left arm that went from the elbow to the wrist. And I'd had other artists tell me they couldn't - or wouldn't - do it. But Jason had no problem. He also created the filigree around the main ink. Tattoo parlors are like restaurants. You feel more comfortable as a patron if they've received an "A" and the place is not entirely empty. Well the health department doesn't put little handy letters in the window of tattoo parlors. Although, it begs the question as to why not? It didn't look like there was much demand on this particular Sunday for S T. The female tattoo artist quoted my friend $150 more than a shop which we preferred down the street and she insisted that the "e"s would close up in her tattoo design if it was done in that particular font and it should be done in "script,' except that it was a german quote written in german and script would look...ridiculous. So without my letter I'm at loss and without a crowd to scrutinize or plates to eye, in this case body art to ogle... I can't speak for the tattoos here because I didn't get one at ST nor did my friend. It just wasn't going to work out. See: above. I simply must say, I loved my experience with S.T. I got my nipples pierced by Nick and he made me feel really comfortable - not in the least bit creepy at all. I got my nose pierced for the 3rd time, it's my fault that I keep losing it. After calling various other tattoo parlors in the LA area, this was the first place that 1. answered the phone and 2. had the piercer in and available. The price was right so I told them I would be in for my nose. Shop was clean, not overly crowded and Donovan helped me out right away. I was looking for cool birthday present for my husband and it dawned on me that a tattoo would be great! This would be his first so I wanted a tattoo artist that would kick ass. I looked around and some were to expensive while other were booked. I started asking around and was referred to this ST Tattoos from a mommy in my mommy group...LOL! That's where I found Jarrett his work was new and refreshing and he had worked on a couple of celebs. We contacted him made and appointment for a consult and scheduled the day. Fast forward about 8 months and a couple of medications later (due to a work injury). My husband finally sat down four weeks ago for 3 hours for a part of his tattoo. I also managed to squeeze myself in there and get one myself. After two weeks allowed for healing he went back two weeks ago for another 4 hours to finalize the work. I have to say the work is beautiful! My husband wanted black but Jarrett suggested another process for the two objects to be black and still hold their own. read more

I've gotten 3 tattoos from this shop and was referred to them about 8 years ago by a guy at a gym I workout at who had a pretty elaborate tattoo covering his right arm. The first two were simple Chinese characters and the third was something more personal that they aided in the design and it turned out great. Every time I have gone the artist has been great, the place completely clean and their current location is nice. I like that they are more about the personal meaning then the "let me pick one off the wall". That is the impression that I have always gotten from them. Regarding prices they seem to be on par if not a little better than the other places I have checked with. All and all I will return to them if/when I decide to get another one. read more

I would have never thought of getting tattooed at ST only because of the fact that they seem to specialize in bigger, more hardcore pieces than what I was interested in. A friend had recommended ST, so we both went to get our first tattoos together. Because I wanted a simple ohm symbol they were able to take me that day, but my friend had to come back because she wanted a more complicated colored butterfly. Jarrett was my artist and he was very professional. The music booms in the shop, but it does drown out the sound of the machines running. The process only took about 45 minutes and I am very happy with the result, 4 years later. It was a bit pricey, but he explained it was because of the location- on my lower right hip. I ended up giving him a nice tip because he made my first very smooth and a pleasant experience. read more

I came in as a "walk in" to S.T. to see if I could get a simple tattoo that I always wanted. Donovan was available, super nice, personable and available right then and there. He discussed what I wanted and went to draw something up. I asked to see his book before getting started as I have had some bad work done in the past. His portfolio spoke for itself. He was incredibly professional and made me feel comfortable even patient when reworking his original sketch to my liking. I love my tattoo and was amazed how precise it is being that its pretty small, his hand was super steady, "like a surgeon" as he joked. I would 100% recommend this shop. I really tried to like this place, but unfortunately I can't really say I can. I went I'm here on a Friday night about a year ago and two artist were available which is fine since I was a walk in. At first the guys didn't seem to want to tattoo me or my boyfriend I'm guessing cause they wanted to be done early or whatevs. But business is business, right? After they finally decided who would have to tattoo us they set up and did the deed fairly quick. The guy that tattooed us turned out to be pretty chill. His name might've been Wayne or Dwayne or something with a W in it. I went back about two months ago though I was reluctant, but i was itching for a tattoo. Same thing happened, only this time they didn't make time for us because they were closing. Must've been around 8 when I showed up. They are just not the friendliest people and only seem to want to tattoo what they want when they want. They advised us to come back the next day. Needless to say their attitude left a sour taste in my mouth and I will just stick to my regular shop. So i guess make an appointment ahead if you wanna be treated nicely. I won't speak ill of their work because I am satisfied with my piece. I just wish they'd be a bit nicer to potential customers. read more

If you want a small fix, go somewhere else. They don't have time for you. You're a waste of their precious energy, as if they had tons of people waiting for tattoos, which they didn't, in fact, there were no customers at all in the shop. I was told the BOTH times I went in to talk about this fix that what I was asking for was unreasonable and that they were about to close anyway. Hmmm. Honestly, I think they probably do great work. But as long as you want something big, expensive and straightforward. I went to another shop where the artist gave me some very creative options and my fix was done in 15 minutes and I love it! And nobody made me feel like I was doing something wrong or wasting their time. read more
