CUSTOMER BEWARE, DOES NOT HONOR SERVICE WARRANTY! I paid…read moreDon's Auto Interiors to replace the convertible top on my 1999 Porsche 911. Unfortunately, the installation was not completed correctly due to their technician's lack of knowledge and led to multiple issues, including improper top alignment, damage to the new top material, modification of my vehicle without my authorization, and water intrusion that later resulted in additional repairs. Upon pickup, I immediately noticed a few issues: 1. There was a gap on the passenger side between the convertible top and the door frame (this didn't exist before the replacement). The technician said that it will take some weeks for the fabric to stretch out and get fitted to the frame. 2. There were two areas where the top was already damaged (small nicks) which the technician said was due to the top getting hooked by the door. Due to the top getting hooked by the door, the technician also said they had to slightly grind away the corner of my door so that it wouldn't further cut my top material. 3. Last issue and the most minor, the fabric from the interior has a plastic brace that clicks over an interior bar and this kept getting unclipped. Unfortunately, the gap never resolved, and I later learned the top had not been properly aligned during installation which led to water intrusion that eventually led to additional repairs which included the replacement of my water damaged ECU. After discovering the problem, I contacted Don's and had to wait one month and a half for an appointment. When I finally brought the car back for inspection, the technician was unable to identify the exact repair needed and directed me to Porsche for further diagnosis and to replace the ECU that was damaged before they could correct the top installation. Porsche confirmed that the top had been installed incorrectly and required alignment correction and replaced my ECU. I contacted Don's immediately, and spent months contacting Don's and their manager Desmond trying to get my installation corrected. Don's offered a replacement top but refused to install it, refused to pay for installation elsewhere, and refused to provide a refund for the installation service I originally paid for. In other words, I paid for a completed installation and correction of any installation-related issues, but the shop ultimately stated it was no longer capable of performing the work. What has been most disappointing is not only the installation itself, but Don's and their manager Desmond's lack of accountability, lengthy delays, poor communication, and lack of a meaningful resolution. I trusted the shop's expertise when I raised concerns immediately after pickup, and months later I am still left with the cost and burden of finding another shop to complete the work correctly. My experience can be summarized as follows: * I paid for a convertible top replacement that was not installed correctly. * I reported the issues immediately upon pickup. * Porsche later confirmed the top was improperly aligned during installation. * I incurred additional expenses for diagnosis and repairs related to the water intrusion. * Months passed while I attempted to have the issue corrected. * Don's ultimately stated they could not perform the corrective installation because they no longer had a qualified technician. * Despite being unable to complete the work, the shop refused to refund the installation cost.

Edit 2: The owner has not only refused to provide the video but they've also threatened me by telling me they know where I live and that they'll sue me for my review (see attached image). I've never seen this level of unprofessionalism from a business owner. Also, I haven't purchased anything from this business so the only way they would have my information is if they went out of their way too look me up online which is frankly quite disturbing. Brought my Volvo in on Saturday to see if a remote start can be installed in my car. The guy said he had to check to see if my cars compatible so he pulled it into the back of the shop and brought it back like 5 minutes later said sorry he couldn't do it. No problem I said and left but as I'm driving I hear a weird thumping noise coming from the front of my car. i pull over and check and part of my bumper is loose. I pop the hood and all but 1 of the 6 fasteners are gone so front bumper was basically hanging on by a thread. Thankfully I noticed it before I got on the highway where I'm 99% certain my bumper would have fallen off and caused an accident. Also the rubber molding on the driver side was not properly pushed back in but that's not nearly as much of a concern. I do not recommend bringing your vehicle here at all but if you do remember to take pictures of EVERYTHING before they touch your car.

Took my brand new car with 800 miles on it to repair a two inch scratch on the rear bumper. Said they could do it for $350, match the paint with the code and have it done by the end of the day. I paid in advance so pick up would be a breeze. While the transaction processed through on my Discover card, they recv'd a fax on the line causing the confirmation to not go through ON THEIR END. I got an instant notification from Discover that $350 was put through. Ended up having to call Discover and let Maaco talk to the bank to confirm that the sale went through but the status will say pending for up to 7 days. They let my boyfriend pick up the car and when we brought it home, noticed that the indentation from the scratch was still noticeable, just painted over and now, in addition to that, we have paint drip marks, swirls and white paint over the black part of the bumper that obviously was not taped off correctly. The paint does not even match. Original paint has a glitter effect, Maaco paint has some glitter but only about 20% as much as the original. Recv'd a call the next day, they did not receive payment from Discover. I then called again and Discover assured me the sale went through, it's just pending. They suggested Maaco call their merchant line to discuss the process and that it can take 7-10 days to go through. Got a seriously unprofessional, aggresive call the next day threatening to put a lien on the car to repossess. Seriously, the fact that I have a $40K car should tell them I'm not going to skip out of a $350 bill. I'm just not going to pay them twice and then have to try to get my money back from them, especially since now I'm going to have to take the car somewhere else and pay out of pocket again to fix the original scratch PLUS the damage they caused.

Sam and Chris listened to my concerns about the minivan and offered to repair for under $700! They not only repaired the dents and repainted the vehicle but they also repaired another big dent that had been on the bumper for 5 years! I had never repaired that dent, because the Chrysler dealership told me that I would have to replace the entire bumper! This would have cost me $2550 alone! Maaco repaired it for $100! Sam and Chris (father and son) are some of the best people that I have ever met. They listen and they care! They even offered me a ride! I live far. So, If you are driving around in a car with dings or dents, you MUST stop at Maaco in Alsip and meet Sam and Chris. They will make your car look amazing for a very little price in a very short time. I will be bringing in another car for Sam and Chris to do their magic again. I guarantee you will fall in love with this business! I will highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone who needs body/paint work.
