It takes a lot for me to give a business "1 star". I wish there was a negative star rating here! So here it goes, getting gas here is fine, right off Lake st. if you can't make it to the other stations around the Addison/Elmhurst area, but DO NOT go here to get your car fixed! My aunt went here recently to have her van fixed so she dropped it off. Then they called her and said that they stripped her engine/auto parts out of the car and told her that her old van was junk and asked her for the title and sell off the van to them as scraps. What the heck! Who gave the rights for them to strip the van? She didn't agree for them to do that! She wanted to know how much it would cost to fix it her van! TOTAL SCAMMERS of a little old lady!!!! It was still running when she got to their shop. Shame on them!!! This was her only car to get to work! They even told her to pay $110.00 for their consulting fee or else they won't give back her car! Luckily, my dad was around (little did they know he's a retired auto mechanic) and went there to get her car. The service men told him that it will take him forever to put it back together so he's better off to pay for their towing and tow the car off the lot. what give you more money! Yeah right, he demanded to see all the parts and he put the van together in 20 mins, running. Yes, he was able to drive the van back to my aunt's house! It still needs a lot of work but it was running. I was told that the mechanics were impressed with my dad on how fast he put the van together, he didn't tell them he was a mechanic. It's a sad thing, because I believe in supporting our local businesses but if you scam the consumer, you better watch out cause one will know an Elite "Yelper" that will tell the truth and the mass will know your true colors!!! Until they get better and honest mechanics working here, I would highly suggest to take your car and go somewhere else down the street in Addison! There are plenty of other local auto mechanic shops that will do an honest day's work than this place! So sad, it's embarrassing that they are located here in my hometown. And don't let the Mobil logo fool you, avoid this like a plague!!! read more

This place is a joke. Vic charged me $600 and insisted it was a really good deal to replace a bearing. A bearing. On a 14 year old 2wd Chevy. $600. I called my regular mechanic and he told me it should be half that. Then when I went to pick it up, a state trooper comes in and I guess I turned invisible to the prick. Instantly serving someone that came in after me while we were in the middle of a transaction. Why? He knew I was far from home and he absolutely took advantage of me. read more

There's no doubt in my mind that this place Sabatoged my car. I took it in for a power steering issue, in which they did fix for $550, smh. I thought that was extremely high, but oh well. But why two days later all of a sudden my clutch went out, so I took it back up there thinking it wa. s just a broken cable line, but Noooo, it was The Clutch Master Cylinder this time. So they tell me about how they have to use power steering fluid to fix it. Putting 2+2 together, they messed my master Cylinder up trying to fix the steering wheel issue. Turned around and charged me $600 to fix the Master Cylinder in which I believe they either messed it up on purpose (Sabatoge), or by mistake. Because there was nothing wrong with my clutch. So, now I have to find me a new mechanic, the Cylinder was $140, so they charged me $460 just for labor, that's higher than the Dealership nearly. I think they're money hungry Sabatoge agents in this place. I guess the mechanic was on Holiday Pay doing my car. I don't appreciate being used like this, so I just thought I'd let y'all know b4 taking your vehicle to them. read more

I really don't see why anybody would even give this god awful place a star. If I could give it no stars, I truly would. So instead, I'll write a long and awful review. Seems just as good if you ask me. Where to begin? Let's start with me. New to the neighborhood and this place was convenient. My husband takes it in for a simple oil change and later that evening when I take him to the airport, all lights come on and my car is making a terrible noise. Take it in the next day and they charge me $300 for a new oil filter because they said my old one just "fell apart" and that his guys couldn't have messed it up because it doesn't take a "genius" to change an oil filter. Clearly, it does. I leave my car overnight and forgot to grab my husband's checkbook from the backseat. We had recently moved to the new house and needed it to pay contractors and other things. My husband comes back into town looking for his checkbook and it's GONE. SO NOT ONLY ARE THEY INCAPABLE OF DOING A "SIMPLE" oil change, they are also thieves. The reason I didn't file a complaint about this was because I had taken my car home and I knew that if I had accused them of stealing it, they simply would have fed me a lot of go arounds much like they did with the oil filter of my car. Going back, I was also told that my oil filter was not of original manufacturer (which I was aware of because my old one had become loose and my guy who has changed the oil in my car since I was 17 ordered me a brand new one) which was the reason it "fell apart" so they had to order a new one from my dealership, you know, the original one. So when it arrives, it turns out, it's NOT an original. At this point, nothing about this place can surprise me. He told me "they actually stopped producing the original oil filter" yeah, I know, I recently tried to get one when I JUST had my oil filter replaced. Moving on, they took no responsibility for anything which was the hardest part to swallow. I trusted this establishment with my car, and they did nothing but mess it up from beginning to end. Next, my father. He actually gets really upset every time he looks at his back seat window now. So much that I think he might have a heart attack. After my horrible experience with this place, I urged for no one else in my family to get their cars serviced here, but they chose convenience and the odds that nothing bad would happen to their cars. My father took his car in for an oil change and got his car back with a backseat window that will not roll up all the way. My brother took his car in for an oil change and his sound system stopped working. When he looked under the hood, they had somehow unplugged it. Now I'm not an oil changer professional, but I would like to think that, if your job is under the hood, you should probably keep your head and hands where the oil filter is. So here's the thing, if this place has been in business for as long as they advertised, I would recommend that they fire all the imbecile guys they have on staff and hire a bunch of new, trained, certified, guys that are also not thieves to continue to stay in the business. From the looks of the other yelp reviewers, your negative reviews are overshadowing your good. And I really wish I had read these reviews before going there but I didn't use yelp and HAD to create one after such an awful experience. I will never ever put my poor car through that again. I'd rather make the drive to Uptown Chicago to get my car serviced rather than go to this hell hole. And I strongly urge the same for the rest. You're probably better off taking it down the street to that "9 minute oil change" shack. read more

THEY CHARGED ME TO FIX SLOW LEAK IN TIRE AND LEAK GOT WORSE AFTER THEY "FIXED" IT DEALERSHIP FIXED PROBLEM FOR LESS MONEY KRAGE charged me $100 to "fix" a leak in tire (tires I bought there less than a year ago) they said it was tire pressure sensor which they replaced. The next day the TPMS light went on, then when I checked tire pressure was very low (the leak got worse) Today I brought in to dealership, where they fixed the problem for $80 (and said that the sensor wasn't installed in the proper manner) Krage's lost a long term customer, I would contact them but if they cared about customers opinions they would do a good job in the first place (they did an excellent job charging my credit card, no mistakes there) read more

Top Notch service and very trust worthy which is key. Very convenient (for me) and plenty of parking so I can drop a vehicle off at night and leave the key in the drop box. If you want honest, friendly service at a fair price Krage's is the place to take your car. You can expect expert service from their certified repair techs who have over 30 years of experience. I have owned several cars of which I was able to keep in good condition for over 15 years with their help. Before leaving for long road trips I always bring my car in for inspection and they've saved me several times from being stranded on a highway, once with a bad tie rod end which could have been disastrous! I've never had to worry about the valuables (purse,cash, electronics) I leave in my car when I bring it in for service. I've left cash in my console and it's always there when I pick up my car. To think that their staff, most of which have been employed by Krage's for many years, would jeapordize their longstanding jobs to steal a checkbook is ridiculous. Things can break down on a car at any given moment. Just because you bring your car in for a repair and something breaks down the next day is not a reason to accuse the repair tech or previous service you received. Krage's has been in the service business for more than 50 years, that alone speaks volumes. You can expect excellent, honest, and professional service from Krage's. been going there for 20 years and would NEVER use them again. they replaced 15 year old radiator with brand new one on 4/3/2010. one year later 4/9/2011 the new one goes out and we have to get car towed to them? they replace one year old radiator with another brand new one?? then charge me 2 times the labor amount of the 1 year old radiator they put in. then they blame thermostat for ruining a 1 year old radiator and replace that also without even calling us for the ok to do it?? why didnt they replace thermostat the first time? car is still leaking antifreeze in driveway?? the mechanic also cracked a hole in reserve tank for antifreeze?? went there to complain about overcharge of labor, crack in reserve tank and leaking antifreeze? they did nothing about it but just fix hole with caulk? we asked vic to drop all or some of labor charge because its not our fault he put crappy radiator in the first time? he should of gave us our labor charge back and went after manufacturer of radiator himself but did not. said he will check into it but never called us back about it. quite obvious they use cheap parts and mechanic did not know what he is doing cause car still leaking now. very high labor charge with below average service. read more
