4-9-25. Went in for an oil change. I was informed that appointments are not necessary but encouraged. At the time I visited, it wasn't too busy so I was taken care of right away. I did purchase the oil change through Groupon and everything worked out pretty smoothly. I was charged an additional $15 because my car needed an additional quart of oil and they also tack on a few extra dollars for what I think was an "oil disposal fee". Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and service was done pretty quickly. What I really liked was they didn't try to sell you on all the extra b.s. that other shops usually do. I maintain my car fairly well and know I didn't need a transmission fluid service, windshield wipers, air filters, etc. so when I mentioned I just wanted to change the oil and that was it, I appreciated that they didn't waste my time. Horrible service. 12pm appointment for an alignment, arrived a few mins early to check in. They said about an hour and a half, no problem. Went to the mall to kill time. Returned just before hitting the hour and a half and waited in the waiting area. After about another 15 mins, asked how much longer. They stated they didn't even do the alignment which was the original reason for coming and that they tried to call ( do not have any missed call ). But wanted to try and upsell new tires and tire rotation. It is now 2:16 and I'm still sitting waiting.. *UPDATE* 2:54pm and my car is now getting pulled in for the alignment 3:20pm and the car is finally done and on a test drive. Went in to get air in my tire , left with $3000 worth of damage to my brand new vehicle. A mechanic threw a shovel into my car out of anger while in their garage. My daughter and I witnessed entire thing. Owner refused to provide insurance information and now i have to take them to court to get the damage covered. Ive never known a business to be this awful in my entire life. It absolutely sickens me to think of taking no responsibility of destroying someone's property and not doing the right thing. I called at 8am to see about appointment at 9am to do a wheel alignment they told to come early . After a hour pass the mechanics didn't take my car in right away so by 11am I was told I need things on my car other than the wheel alignment which they still charged me 1300.00 with the tax . This process took all day until closing . The service gentlemen weren't honest about the time I was getting upset and frustrated . What's the point of making an appointment? I saw people who had just arrived being attended before me. Great service and very fast! The manager Billy is unbelievably helpful and accommodating. I've had a ton of work done on my car and my husbands car and they have always left our cars running beautifully. From inspection to brakes to transmission work and other things I can't remember exactly but several big jobs unfortunately and I'm always left happy and not broke at the end of it. I do not see how any of these cars are working on properly because at least two of the mechanics do crack there and are always drunk. Billy, the manager is constantly drunk coming into Autozone with his beers, throwing them in the parking lot and constantly parking in our parking lot instead of his own.. My daughter brought it there fir a free oil change and inspection and during the time they put it on a lift and they didn't even lock the lift and dropped my daughters 2011 jeep wrangler from 4 feet high!! My friend was just there for inspection. They failed him because they said the car needs new tires which they can install for him now so he can pass inspection. I know his tires are not bad and i told him to ask them to show him the measurements they are getting knowing the min to pass inspection in NY is 2/32. They refused to show him that and asked also to re please the screw on the license plate holder also for inspection purposes. Who DOES THAT lol! Anyway they tried to scam him and he caught them so they gave him the car back and told him to leave. HIs tires thread is almost 5/32. I will complain to the DMV as well for this case. Brought my car in for inspection. Figuring if anything id just need brake pads cause they were bordeline low, they tried to say all 4 rotors plus pads were no good plus all my tires were no good. Tried to charge me an arm and a leg for repairs plus they failed inspection an charged me FULL AMOUNT OF INSPECTION. Took my car out of there went to another repair shop. Mechanic said your rotors are fine just needs brake pads. Tires were fine also. Moral of the story do not go to this place . read more

Billy the manager corresponded via texting for the time in-between visits, asking how the service went and how the car was doing. He also sent info on some specials the shop had going. I got a Groupon for a cheap oil change here. I also needed an inspection. While I was walking around the mall across the street, Midas called and told me that I needed $1000+ in repairs (new tires, new brakes, something else). I told them that I would take it to my local mechanic. I went back and the guy was PISSY at me. He asked if I wanted an estimate from them, I said no, I was going to use my mechanic. He then sarcastically asked if my mechanic doesn't do inspections. It's like--dude, I got a groupon so I figured I'd have you guys do the inspection, to. But that doesn't matter, I don't need to justify my choice not to have him repair my car. It's not his right as the inspector or something. But here's the kicker--it was just a BS upsell. I looked at my tires myself. The tread on one of the four was a little low and arguably needed to be replaced. The rest were fine. I decided to replace them anyway on my own. I then brought the car to my local mechanic for an inspection, it passed with no mention of any of the other work being necessary. Bay Shore Midas basically stole my $37. I now understand why they have a groupon for a NYS inspection for below the reimbursement rate: they're going to find repairs you don't need done and try to charge you for them. I had a reservation for 12pm, and didn't receive a phone call until 5pm. When I went to pick up my vehicle, MY KEY WAS SNAPPED IN HALF THEN GLUED BACK TOGETHER! Stay away - star far away! They don't know what they are doing and their corporate offices are no help. We brought our classic car to them for a brand new exhaust and it damaged the rear bumper scorching the paint. One would think that a company specializing in exhaust systems since 1956 would know how to do the work - well they didn't and now they won't properly correct their error. If they didn't know how to do it, should of said that from the beginning!! The system has been hitting the ground and pipes are scratched and flattened already. DON'T GO HERE!!! In September I had a Groupon for an oil change. Days later I noticed that I had oil leaking under my car. I brought the car back. The same mechanic took it in and said the washer and drain plug were not tight, but he fixed it and added 1 quart of oil. Ok, problem fixed. During the following week I kept smelling a foul odor.I looked under the hood. There was oil splattered all over the engine and a big pool of it on the top of it. The oil cap was missing. All week long I was driving my car like this!!!!My engine could have seized!!! I called and was met with disbelief. I held my temper. I had to go out and purchase a new cap just to drive it down to Bayshore form Huntington to have them clean my engine. went to get an oil change Oct 2020 . Jay at front desk said the technican noticed my rear brake pads were running low and I should change pads otherwise would damage the rotwers. I was pretty sure I had my rear pads changed recently, but had to check with my husband. I declined to have the pads changed at midas. When I got home , my husband checked the receipts and saw we had changed the pads 8 months prior at Pep boys. Since.it was still under warranty we returned to. Pep boys and asked them to check the pads. Turns out the pads were fine and did not need to be changed. I was almost scammed do by this Midas location. Becareful. read more

NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!!! Arrived by 9:30am they pulled my SUV in approximately 15mins later to repair & replace rear sway bars & front motor mount. Salesman shows on his computer the amount of time 2.3hrs the job will take which relates/equals repair rate. I walked to near by mall, returned by 11:30am mechanic is sitting on running board smoking a cigarette! Fast forward they did not complete my vehicle until after 3pm. Excuses after excuses...!!! No I did not pay for 5hr but 5hrs of my time is valued too!!! Grease & greasy hand prints along with shoe prints in & outside vehicle... SMDH!!!! Because I was there so long I witness hearing unnecessary work being recommended & priced extremely higher then should be to women... Fortunately for one person she went on her phone online & compared prices for breaks & salesman tried to tell her, that price was for inferior breaks, Midas's breaks are better... I had the most horrible experience at this Midas in Bayshore, NY. Not only did I spend over $6000 to fix a problem that they never fixed, but included in that $6000 was a $1500 visit to my dealership to fix what Midas broke on my car. I originally spoke to them about a noise on my front end, but 4 repairs later, I still had the shaking noise. They replaced front shocks (both sides), struts, arm bars, sway bar links, inner and outer tie rods, rear brakes, rear rotors, caliper, and a tune up. After the 4th visit, while on the highway, my car had smoke coming from the tailpipe, & my battery light came on. Had the battery tested (which turned out to be good) but my alternator failed, also while in the parking lot I noticed an oil leak. The dealership informed me that the oil leaks on the car went into the alternator causing it to fail. I contacted Midas several times and their solution was to bring the car back to them to fix it. I said 'absolutely not' and told them I was taking my car to the dealership where it can be fixed properly. I requested a refund and the manager Abbas refused. A few days later I noticed the rear rotors that Midas replaced were still rusted, which means I paid for them to be replaced and they weren't. If you want to save money DON'T USE MIDAS IN BAYSHORE. I am currently waiting to see what they are doing about my refund, 2 days after receiving all my receipts and pictures. Kathryn 09/27/22 - In response to the owner, I have already contacted the customer svc complaint #. I am currently waiting for a response as to a resolution to this matter. Kathryn 09/27/22 - Called the corporate office and verified that the district manager/owner Raza has decided not to refund my money nor contact me, but told customer svc that no further action will be taken on this matter. I wasn't going to leave a review but I feel like I have an obligation to so others are not left in the same position as I am and pay so much money for nothing to be done. The repair guys are incompetent and misdiagnosed my vehicle up until the point my engine fried and had to take it to another mechanic. Jay the front desk guy (Service manager I'm guessing) has no idea how to properly facilitate a repair call and had me leave the shop thinking there was nothing wrong with my car. In fact, I remember him saying there might be something wrong with the sensor but vehicle is fine. Well here we are 6 months later and my car nearly stopped on the road. The issue I had gone there for initially (engine overheating, coolant leak) was never fixed but he was good to take my money. When I told him what happened to my car, the guy didn't give 2 rats asses and refused to refund me the money I paid back in February. Do not use them. They told me exactly what was wrong with it and the steps to get in contact with a towing company and my dealership. They were nice enough to not charge for any inspection. The other reviews are dead on! I wish I would have read them before I went to this disastrous place. The people doing the work are clueless and the "so-called" manager ( Jay ) is the most unprofessional of the crew. A simple remove and replace of rear shocks (4 nuts/4 bolts & 2 shocks). A 30 min job but Due to incompetence, the job took a month to semi complete due to errors and unprofessional personnel. The shop damaged the bolts on removal, welding torched and burned the (interior) of the trunk bed (I know, how is this even possible), ordered the incorrect parts, installed old discarded shocks and incorrect bolts But got busted by a NYS inspector of the vehicle. If that wasn't effed up enough, to try and "fix' being defrauded actually required an appointment as if the negligence didn't require immediate redress. Folks, don't use this establishment. The state attorney general is investigating this shop and your warrantee may require litigation to recover if the franchisee and state license is revoked. Don't haggle with the office and secure legal counsel immediately if they've screwed up your vehicle. read more

Midas screwed up my car on numerous occasions. Along with approx 3 coworkers, all of whom made the mistake of going there. The mechanic left his tools in my car and my car makes new scraping metal sounds. I recorded everything and will share a link to video. Service counter bad mouthing customer ahead of me, service counter lying to me about driving the car. Midas left a "concerned" message here to which I responded. I am yet to hear anything back.
