I took my vehicle to Eastern to be fixed. Just to find out that they returned my car with no starting system in my vehicle. I went back to Eastern and spoke to Joe the owner. I explained my situation to Joe about how I had taken my car there for one thing and walked out with no starter system to my car and I asked Joe what was the next step, expecting that I would get my money back. Joe clearly told me in my face that he threw my starter system out because he felt that he could do that. mind you my starter system was not even a year old, it was brand new . Joe absolutely disregarded my concern about my brand new starter for my car. He went along telling me to leave his shop, that he refused to carry on this conversation with me and that if I want to get a lawyer to get a lawyer, because he doesn't care, so I'm here to tell you guys the shop is crooked they steal parts from your car and they disregard you as if they did nothing wrong. Please don't take your car to this shop anymore. I will be passing down the word to every person I know in Brentwood. They are robbing you guys of your money. I paid a lot of money for my system and they refused to pay me back somebody will be hearing from my lawyer! read more

The guy at the desk was very rude, I walk in to him screaming at an asian guy who nearly understood him. Then screams at me because I'm asking about my car, which I never received a call saying that they couldn't work it. When I replied to his disrespectfulness he proceeded to tell me to "never return". I will never return to this place ever again. No complaints about the mechanics, they were actually trying to help me out when the older man at the desk was screaming at me. read more

I went for a a wheel alignment and waited for about 45 minutes. After tis time they finally came to me and said it was ready. When I called the person on the phone line said it was $75 for a wheel alignment which is about the price for this service in most of the shops who do this work. When the guy hand me over the bill I notice it was for $129.00 so I ask the guy why and his response was because the mechanic had to go out twice for a road test as if it was my fault he didn't do it right the first time. When I mention that Sears or Pepboys do it for $75.00 his response was "Why you didn't go there instead. I found this to be very rude on his part. Well, I paid what he ask and told him you just lost a customer, I'll never go back there. read more

i LOVE them. the one and only mechanic i go to. the owner guy is honest and trustworthy. they do the job right.. no crappy parts, no shady business, no horror stories of crazy charges by car fixers that take advantage of peoples non-existent car savvy. if you need something changed, they'll tell you straight up. if not.. no worries because they won't rip you off and fix something that aint broke. even if i've gone over my alotted mileage and am very much due for an oil change, even if my brakes are squealing out in middle-of-nowhere, NH. i still (and you may think me an idiot) wait until i get my bum back to LI to have my buddies at Eastern diagnose. damn straight. read more

I was a customer here several years when Paul was at the front desk. He retired and sold the business to his sons. I am delighted to say that the same service and dedication to the customer lives on. Eric is very patient and clearly explains what needs to be done and what can wait. I always feel that I am being treated fairly here. Had a brake job here today and was pleased with the results. Needed new tires and he suggested a place down the street that was also fast and for a reasonable price. I really do place honesty and professionalism above all else. I've never had a problem with their work but I believe if I did they would do their best to rectify the situation. NY is a tough place to find a good car mechanic. I keep going back here because they treat me fairly and keep my older car in good running order. I was happy to give my business to the original owner and happy to continue with the younger generation. So happy that I am willing to drive from Manhattan for their service. read more

Paul, the owner, is a pretty honest guy and tries to fix cars in an economical manner. We have had some good luck with him and some bad luck. We have brought in our car for specific repairs such as S-belt squealing and the car stalling and unfortunately left with the car just as bad as when we came in. Sometimes we bring it back but they never seem to fully fix the problem so i think we will be moving on to another mechanic. read more

No Stars for this establishment if I could. They do not want to take on any repairs unless it is an oil change or an alignment. Their mechanics, if they can even be called that are TERRIBLE HACKS!! They have left nuts and bolts on my windshield after replacing the radiator. The check engine light came back on a couple of weeks after they replaced the catalytic converter. When the code was checked it was reading a bad catalytic converter. The owner Paul told me on another ocassion that I should just let my car go, that it would be too expensive to fix and gave me the wrong diagnosis all together. I took it to another shop & 600 dollars later my car is running fine, NO THANKS TO EASTERN. They also gave the wrong diagnosis to my sister in law and told her that her engine was no good & she should just let the car go. She took it somewhere else and they were able to fix the car and that car is still on the road today. Do not waste your time or money, use REAL MECHANICS and mechanics who actually want to work. They should just close their doors. THEY GET NO STARS!! read more

I agree with Mark M. Paul is a great guy but there has been multiple times I had to go back the very next day for the same problem. I actually just left. I like the that it's family owned and love to support local business's but I have to move on as well. Best of luck to them. read more

I will never return to this place again. Normally when I get my car inspected I have my father do it for me. This was the first time I ever went myself, and I walked into the office and up to an older man at the desk. I very politely asked "excuse me should I sign in somewhere for my appointment?" And couldn't even get through my full sentence when he rudely interrupted me said "don't bulldoze your way in here, don't you see I have a bunch of people waiting here?" There was 5 people all sitting down in this very small office, and they all were shaking their head at this man being so rude. I then tried to tell him I was just asking about signing in, and he kept not letting me talk. I've never had someone be so rude off the bat. Yeah they've done my inspection 3 times before never had a problem but if you want to be disrespected and rudely talked then this is the place for you. It's sad because the mechanics are very polite, this guy ruined it all. Will never give this place my money! read more
