If you're bringing your vehicle here for a damage assessment after an accident, be extremely careful. They made up completely false claims about "prior damage" on my husband's car. Our insurance adjuster tried contacting Michael about the assessment, and he reported things like rust, ripped and soiled seats, and other issues that simply did not exist. When she followed up to clarify, he suddenly claimed he "didn't remember." Even the adjuster was baffled and appalled, dealing with this guy. This place is absolutely not trustworthy. We will never use them again, and we'll be warning others in town as well. read more

Recently I had to visit Richmond auto because of a side swipe accident. This is the second time I had to use them. From the minute I walked in the door I felt a sense of peace. I started out needing photos but they walked me through the process to get my estimate. Although it took a few weeks they kept me posted and the lovely women in the office answered all my questions. we hit a few snags with the process but they unsnagged they pretty quick. I don't know who was happier when my car was ready them or me. when I got my car back it looked brand new. The paint job and repairs were fabulous. These guys just fixed the molding on my 30 year old station car and it looks great. They screwed in a loose piece of molding. They didn't charge and wouldn't even take a tip. Chris at Richmond was honest. He assessed some of my wants and convinced me taking his free service was better than what I wanted to pay for. How do you beat this kind of honesty? My elderly mother in law damaged her car on a low wall. Pulled the bumper and some under carriage plastic out. Our mechanic doesn't do body work but estimated it would probably cost about a thousand dollars at a body shop. She went to Richmond and they fixed it for FREE. When I got into my accident I kind of figured my car would never be the same. With how hard it is to properly match paint I kind of just accepted the fact. Richmond auto body was simply the closest auto body shop close to me as per Geico. So I went in knowing full well what to expect. I have never been glad to be so incredibly wrong. The guys at Richmond auto body are paint wizards. My car looked like it just rolled off the factory. I could not believe my eyes when I saw my 2016 Civic. They did such a fantastic job and were so courteous and professional. Each step of the way was a total breeze. I came in for my appointment scheduled by Geico, (they have Geico staff there for damage assessments.) I dropped my car off a day or two later, and in about a week the work was complete. It was absolutely stunning. I had a smile ear to ear. I opted for the "mini detail", a service they provide for just $20. Again, completely stunned at how meticulously they cleaned and polished the car. Ive been to car washes that would charge double maybe even triple the price for a real deep cleaning of a car and it wouldn't even hold a candle to how Richmond left my car. A suggestion to the folks at Richmond, make the mini detail sign bigger and more visible. It was completely worth it. Anyone considering getting work done here should just spring for it. They gave me a warranty on parts and labor, and explained the process to me on how the warranty works if anything were to ever go wrong with what they did to the car. Clear, concise, and professionally. And to top it all off they gave me a scratch off lottery ticket a silly little finishing touch but still appreciated and worth mentioning. Nobody wants to have to go to a body shop,however, there are times we need to. Richmond Auto Body made it easy the times I needed to use them. They write very fair estimates, get approval from the insurance company, and get started working quickly. They do great work where you can't even see there was a repair. In addiction to the great work Chris is very personable and honest. I had a small issue where a car hit me in the rear. The back fender became somewhat dislodged. I immediately went to Richmond expecting to leave the car and pay for the repair. Chris came out to look at it. He went into the shop and came out with some tools. I was in an accident and unfortunately did not have collision coverage on my car. I was given an honest estimate and was told that the car was not worth the money to repair. They were patient with me while I figured out my situation and, since my car was not drivable, they allowed me to leave it there for a few days before I was able to get it towed away. Good shop. I took my car there to have an estimate done for insurance. They took the car apart and put it back together with no complaints here. They cleaned my car to look like new just like how I took it into the shop. It was hard getting answers over the phone when I called. The office does get busy. Overall I have no complaints. I should have reviewed Richmond a few years back, as I have been going there for a while. First off, the staff is second to none in kindness, and always make you feel better about your situation, as well as answering every question in a detailed manner. This stretches from the mechanics to the people answering the phones. The work they do on cars is also incredible. It can be a bit pricey, but I assure you that your car ends up looking like the day you bought it. I have dealt with Chris my last couple of times, and he is a solid human being, who has great customer service skills and workmanship. I brought my nissan pathfinder in to Richmond Autyo Body which was actually conveniently located at the end of route 110 a bit west on Merrick Road. The staff was extremely expedious and quick in getting me into a rental car and off to work. I am usually a bit skeptical of body shops quality of paint since they vary considerably. I review the specs with the adjuster and to my satisfaction they use a higher quality than most shops on Long Island. Donna, Jo Jo and Chris the adjuster all took an interest in my car as much as I did, typically not par for the course in today's world. When my car came back I could not tell where the repair began and ended, great finishing. I would highly reccomend them. I never usually write reviews either. read more

Greatful that I tried this place after smashing my car with a snow bank. I tried another shop before*(years ago) and had a good experience so I was reluctant to leave it. The front office staff made me feel comfortable after Liberty Mutual referred me here, so I gave it a shot. They replaced my front bumper and it took a couple of days. The car was cleaned inside and out. They gave me a lottery ticket after I picked up my vehicle in hopes that I win my deductible money back. I called to get a quote on replacing a stock driver side mirror, casing and all. Apparently they need me to come down and waste my time so they can verify the year make a model.... Personally I think they just want to see how bad it looks so they can make up a price off the top of their head. It's not like I'm asking them to buff out some dents and scratches. Was told my car would take 3-4 days to complete as long as i dropped it off on monday. Friday came and i heard nothing so i called and was told ill get a call later friday to come pick up saturday morning. Call never came. I waited until monday, called and was told it will definitely be ready this afternoon. They never called back. Finally on wednesday it was ready, only to discover it wasnt reassembled properly at the time of pickup. Bottom line is the work done wasnt terrible but this is one of those places that is too big, doing too much business for their own good. The "supervisor" who helped me was of little help. Clearly they are having some internal communication issues which results in communication failures with their customers. Not reccomended. read more
