DO NOT go to this Factoria Midas!!!!!! I can't stress this enough! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I went into the Factoria location for the first time to get an oil change - the location was convenient. The guy at the front desk showed me (in a condescending way) the form that they use for the Courtesy Check and explained that as part of the oil change package, they also rotate tires, do a visual brake check, and inspect the battery, air filter, fluid, belts and hoses. Just 5-10 minutes after dropping off the car, they called and said that I needed to replace the radiator cap (it was broken), flush the coolant system, and clean/adjust/resurface the 2 rear brake drums. I came in for a $35 oil change package, and now was quoted services/labor of $300!!!! Okay... so are these add-on services really needed? Decision: My boyfriend and I decided to just go with the oil change and radiator cap replacement (those didn't cost much) and we held off on the drums and coolant. Horrible part #1: Just before picking up our car, a customer, who had just picked up her car returned. She had just left the Midas parking lot and noticed her car driving a bit strange. As she was returning to Midas, her TIRE FELL OFF and her car was stuck IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD!!! Seriously she is lucky that this situation wasn't any worse.... After collecting our car, we went straight to the Issaquah Midas (been to this one several times before and have loved the service - excellent customer service!!!!) and asked them to verify Factoria's work and recommendations. Issaquah Midas looked thru all the documents/receipts that Factoria gave me, and noticed Factoria failed to give me a copy of the Courtesy Check results. This copy would've documented the results of their inspection, including the pH levels of the coolant which would determine if a flush is needed. So Issaquah Midas kindly did the pH test for us and it came back NORMAL! COOLANT DOES NOT NEED FLUSHING!!!! Drums were just fine too. So that says it all... Horrible part 2: Factoria Midas tried to charge us for services that were not necessary!!!! On top of that they failed to provide standard documentation to their clients - that way there's nothing to disprove recommended services!!!!! And... they are just rude!!!! Go to Issaquah Midas!!!!! Great people and great service there!!!!! Issaquah, Bellevue, Kirkland, Bothel and Ballard are all owned by the same guy. Thank you so much. This place got us in and out and we were cutting it close to closing time. We had an unexpected death in the family and needed to take a long road trip that evening and needed to get brakes and everything checked out. This place was also under construction as they were in the process of moving locations within the same shopping center. The sign wasn't even up yet and they pulled it all off without a hitch. My super cheap but super reliable toyota corolla needed a new muffler back in 2005. I had the work done at this Midas in Factoria to the tune of $316. I thought that was a little expensive, but the muffler came with a lifetime warranty and I needed the work done, so I went ahead and went with them. 3 1/2 years later the muffler pipe has rotted away and when I go in Midas for warranty work I find out my share is going to be $200. Not much of a warranty. When I say "thanks, but not thanks" the guy says "OK, how about we do it for $150?". Uh... I don't think so. And anyhow, if you'd do if for $150, why didn't you quote me that price to begin with? Seems like they try to gouge unsuspecting customers here. I'd recommend establishing a good relationship with a local shop for you automotive repair needs. read more

I called this morning to see if they could squeeze me in for a synthetic oil change. I am new to the area and was blown away by everyone charging $75-85. Midas charges $65 but they also rotate tires. Sold! Then when I got there I was informed that they had a special so it would be $10 off. Even better. They were incredibly nice. And this was the first time I have ever had an oil change where I wasn't told my car needed additional work! They didn't even try to sell me wipers! My Mr. Fantastic bought a new (used) truck a few months ago, and the brakes were the first thing to go. He got the truck up in jacks, took off the tires, and settled in to fight the good fight and replace the brake lines, only to be stymied by a pair of bolts rusted onto the frame. Curses! He finally threw in the towel and had it towed to Midas. They took all the parts he had purchased and just charged for labor and a few extras. The garage manager is just the nicest guy who clearly knows what he's doing. He was able to convince my husband that the truck was in good hands AND charm me. Work was finished when they promised, all the communication was open and prompt. No surprises. The waiting room was clean and comfy, with lots of recently published mags. They even remembered to tell me to reassure my husband that there was no way he would have been able to drill out the screws with the truck on jacks. Even on a lift, they had to dig out some special equipment to get enough leverage. They even checked all the roots and pads for no charge. I recommend this Midas location enthusiastically! read more

I received an estimate to have the exhaust manifold replaced on my Mustang at a different business initially, with the work estimated to take (3) hours at the tune of $556.50 (tax & parts included.) Then I called up Midas and asked if they would do the work if I purchased the part from O'Reilly's (which saved me $100 right there) and they said that they would. They estimated that the work would take 1.3 hours - not 3!! With tax, they estimated the work would cost $199.86 (parts not included.) I gave them the green light to do the work, and I bought the part for about $100, so my total costs ended up being right around $300. I SAVED $256.50 BY GOING WITH MIDAS!! I don't know if the other business (Dan Fast Automotive) was being dishonest, or if their labor is just extremely inefficient, but I really appreciate the honesty and solid work that I received at Midas. On top of that, I was trying to replace a few break-light bulbs in the parking lot after I picked up my car, and one of the managers (I believe he was a manager) ended up coming up to assist despite the shop being very busy, and at no charge. I will definitely be going back for future work/maintenance!! read more

Avoid Midas - terrible, terrible service. This review is for a 90,000 mile checkup performed in July 2008. The service was absolutely awful and the lead mechanic admitted privately that whoever did the work was incompetent. However, the manager and Midas corporate refused to redo the work. Here are specific details: Midas said the rear brakes were like new - the brake pads were not making contact with the wheel and had not been installed properly. When I pointed out that the brakes had been installed by this same Midas location in 2002 and had been checked by this same Midas location in 2006, they made an excuse that the brakes could go out of adjustment at any time. However, since the brakes were like new, they had never been installed correctly in the first place, nor discovered in the 2006 inspection. So six years later, Midas discovered that they installed the brakes incorrectly and we had been driving an unsafe car. Nevertheless, Midas charged me $40 to adjust them. While paying the bill, a mechanic came in and pointed out that the tires needed rotating. I asked why they had not done it as part of the 90,000 mile checkup and he said he had no idea. After looking into it, he said they did not change the oil either, and to bring the car back another day for a free oil change and tire rotation. I then drove out of the Midas parking lot, only to hear a loud noise coming from the front right wheel. Besides being an obvious indication that the work had not been performed properly, it also shows that they did not even test drive the car after service. Since Midas had closed, I had to return the next day and a different mechanic said the wrong hardware had been installed, so they corrected that. The next month the car started making a very loud banging noise. Fortunately we were very close to Midas and drove the car there. The mechanic was amazed and said that a spark plug had come out of the engine block. He could not believe it and said the installation had not been done properly. Despite these obvious problems, the manager was exceedingly rude and denied any issues with their work. After their mechanic told me that the wrong hardware had been installed, the manager denied it and accused me of lying. I contacted the office of the CEO at Midas and asked for a competent mechanic to ensure all of the work was done properly, but they said they could not require the franchise owner to take any responsibility, and Midas corporate didn't take any responsibility either. Incompetent mechanics are bad enough - to abuse customers and refuse to take responsibility for terrible service is worse. Do not do business with Midas! read more

I stopped in for a flat tire repair. They were very busy and didn't have any available appointments. They said I could leave my car there and they could get it done in MAYBE two hours. It's right across the street from the mall so I figured I could wait and walk around. Not even 45 minutes later they called me saying it's fixed!! They made my day! Thank you Midas! read more

I've always been skeptical of oil change places because of the horror stories I've seen about them taking advantage of customers who know very little about their cars. However I've been going to this Midas for years now and think they do a great job. They never try to up sell and convince me my car is about to blow up. I brought my car there for oil change in Jun 2014 and the price I paid included tire and break inspection. When I picked up my car, the man claimed that the tire/nuts were too tight that they could not do tire rotation nor break inspection. I then brought my car to another shop in Seattle and they could do it just fine. I felt that I over paid the service to Mida and I would never go back. read more

This shop saved my life today! After several recent frustrating events at Firestone and Renton Transmission I decided to call Midas this morning to FINALLY find out if my axles were bad. Michelle was AWESOME through the whole process! First, it's refreshing for a WOMAN to answer the phone but she was also very courteous, helpful and friendly! She knew which axles most likely go out on my type of vehicle, was able to quote me over the phone AND although the schedule was packed for today, she fit me in. Complete ANGEL! They checked the car for free, test drove it, had the parts, got 'er fixed, test-drove again and charged me exactly what was quoted...no surprises, no b.s. Michelle thank you for sympathizing with what I endured before calling you guys! The whole process was smooth as silk...I highly recommend this shop, especially if you are a woman trying to get your car fixed without getting screwed without a nice dinner first. :) A WOMAN diagnosed the problem in one phone call while all these "men" couldn't or wouldn't diagnose or fix the problem for MONTHS. This is my follow-up review regarding Factoria Midas. Couple days after I posted my first Yelp review, I was contacted by the Midas' representative, Lynne. She was very understanding and helpful to remediate my negative experience with Midas in Bellevue. After providing them proof of invoice, Midas sent me a check to reimburse the tow charge incurred on the 2nd trip to Midas. In addition, Lynne was able to work with the Factoria location and gave me a fair amount of store credit. Given the proactive steps Midas took to undo my bad experience at the Factoria location, I would bring my car to Midas in the future for services. read more

And to top it off her supervisor listened to me ask her to stop being rude and he never said a word as she proceeded to tell me she wasn't being rude. I have been coming to the Factoria Midas for many years with several different cars and I have found their work to be sound, their prices reasonable and they get it done in a timely manner. There was a time a few years back when they were having some sort of management problem and their service was definitely sub-par. Since then, I have been completely satisfied. The manager at this shop is incredibly rude and abrasive. He constantly runs behind schedule and makes you sit in the waiting room with no updates on what is happening. On the phone he promises one thing but delivers another. This is the second bad experience here. The first time I gave him the benefit of the doubt because the location is convenient for me but the reality is that he has no customer service skills and is a grouch. Some of the worst service I've ever received. They initially misdiagnosed the problem as a bad rear end. It didn't sound right so I got a second opinion, which stated that it wasn't the rear end - it was an axle bearing. Went back to them to have them fix the axle bearing (they quoted me a cheaper rate than the other place) and sure enough, the noise went away. A minor savings of about $1500!! HOWEVER, I now had a new noise coming from the same area they worked on. Took it back and asked them to guarantee their work by fixing whatever they'd screwed up when they worked on it, and got absolutely no help. Took it to another shop and found out that they never changed the axle bearing at all, but charged us $300! A horrible experience start to finish - avoid this place! read more

my gosh, i can't agree with all reviews you see here more (and on bing). i just posted on bing and will repeat here for every car owner's good: ************* they deserve no star! i've been using them for at least 3-4+ years. switched from a regular oil change place because they do a bit more checks at each oil change. i go them religiously without delay. no one elses ever touched my car. lately as i searched for their phone, i found review here is horrible and now i can VERIFIED AND 100% AGREED. they've been using horrible fluid hence my power steering pump goes dead. i went to other reputable mechanic and they told me that that pump rarely needs replacement and researched that other honda doesn't get the same. earlier a friend came and helped me look too, the fluid, supposely bright red actually looks like minestrone soup with ugly stuff in it. i went to midas last than 2 weeks ago when they told me EVERYTHING is fine and all fluids were checked and replaced. So in addition to all extras i pay them over the year, now i need 600 bucks more to replace something they ruined!!! ABSOLUTELY AWFUL SHOP! ************* heard they switched owner earlier in the year so not sure if the new owner made it worse. regardless, over say at least 4 years, i paid 20 more bucks per month (compared to other oil change place) for their awful maintenance, which costs me 960, and now that i need to replace my part and flush fluid, it's another 600. i lost $1600 plus losing hair! read more
