Very poor choice. I only got oil changes but while in the waiting room I would overhear some outrageous price estimates. Manger quotes the highest price possible and than pursues negotiations if you resist. Not a characteristic of a good repair shop in my book. Said my serpentine belt was critically worn and when I said I didn't want to replace it today he joked "I've been waiting to tell someone they were going die soon" and laughed hysterically. A few mechanics have since told me it looks fine. Made a ridiculous excuse after every oil change of why they decided my tires should not be rotated. read more

Trustworthy auto repair - usually don't go together but I have been taking our cars (Lexus, Honda) here for regular maintenance for years. Manager and staff direct and will tell you like it is. I always check prices against dealer repairs and this place is typically 30-40% cheaper, including labor. What I particularly like is that they will give you options then tell you what they would do if i were their car.....based on age of car, how long you'll keep it, etc. I have found the Bothell Midas to be a reliable, trustworthy auto repair garage. read more

Don't go here these guys are shady to say the least. I took my car, which is an early 90's car, in for a oil change everything ran fine when I took it in, they finished the oil change and let me know my fan belt could use a change they were so nice. They quoted me a price that was way to much. . I had just spent $1200.00 on a new water pump and a tensioner a week and a half before with a mechanic I have used for 7 years, very dependable. After leaving Midas Muffler in Bothell I drove about 12 miles to the mall I parked and noticed my car was steaming and overheated. I looked under the hood and water was squirting out of a small break in the newer radiator, not the original, right on top where it is plastic and easily broken by some dishonest mechanic. I called them right away and they said to bring it back in. I did go back and they let me know that they could put in a new radiator for me. I declined because the manager acted very shady and had a different attitude when I came back this second time. I don't trust them. read more

Took my 2001 Astro van in to get the tie-rod ends replaced. They scheduled it in pretty quick and when I picked it up they told me that i only needed one side replaced since the other side had been done a few years earlier. Quick and honest. read more

Don't take your car here for anything! I had some work done on my car and in the middle of the freeway the car broke down. I had just picked my car up from them and headed out to do some errands when the vehicle broke down. I had it towed back to them so that they could fix what they did wrong and they denied it and said it wasn't their fault. How could it not be there fault??? The part that broke was the part they had just fixed. They wanted to charge me again to fix it. There was no way I was going to let them touch my car again so I had to get it towed to a legitimate establishment and pay them $600 to fix the crappy work Midas did. I took this to their area manager and he tried to tell me they weren't in the wrong. When I went to meet the towing company, for my second tow, at their Bothell location the manager there couldn't even look me in the eye as he knew the messed up. They have no customer service there and they certainly don't stand behind their work. read more

The guys at this Midas location really earned my trust a few months ago when I took my Subaru there for a brake check. My brakes were squeaking, so I took my car in to another place that specializes in Subaru's. I got a quote for $900 for new brakes and rotors, which I thought was outrageous, since they had just been replaced six months before. I went to this Midas location in Bothell for a second opinion - they told me that a rock was stuck in my brake pad, and that I didn't need new brakes at all. I still had 40% life left on the brakes, and that when I was ready for new pads and rotors, they would charge me $300 instead of the $900 the other place quoted me. They are honest guys, and they will get my business from now on! read more

Took my truck here to get the breaks done. I called on a Friday and what suppose to be the biggest storm we were having in 10 years. NOT! But they didn't know if they were going to have power or not. They were suppose to call on Saturday and no one called. Now I drive my truck and have my children in it. I didn't want them in it when the brakes were bad. I took Monday off and waited in front of the shop till they opened at 8. Sat there seen the front desk guy sitting there till 10 min after. He didn't turn the lights on not thing. So I walk in and went through the whole thing about calling and getting my brakes done. Friday he quoted me a price for doing a brake job. I know what it needed I was ready to spend $500. So after the brake inspection the price came to $800+. For pads, rotors, and calipers with labor. He tried to say life time warranty on parts. But what about the labor on replacing the parts that's is on warranty. I told them about Les Schwab and he said he didn't want to say anything bad about them but he did. Said that they use cheap parts. Les Schwab $475 for whole front brakes. I took my truck over to my mechanic at Dougs Auto tune and got a better deal and ride back home and my truck dropped off. These guys will try to take advantage of you. Not only did they way overcharge me to replace the distributor, they tried to tell me that my wheel was bent and charge me another $700 to replace that. I've had multiple people look at the wheel since then. It's not bent. Apparently they think I'm so stupid as to believe that some made up horrible vibration exists because they say it does. read more

I had some minor fender damage while the car was at the shop, and while I could not prove the damage was done at the shop, they paid for the repair. Top class unit. Darrin really puts the "trust" in "trust the Midas touch". I had a front brake that was malfunctioning (a caliper that was not releasing causing a constant grinding and was unsafe). I came in early with no appointment and he saw me waiting for the shop to open and invited me in early to have a cup of coffee as he set up for the day. He had my truck inspected first thing and diagnosed the problem. He asked where the most recent brake work had been done and I told him at a competitor's. He said I should check my paperwork and see if the work be covered under warranty. We looked in the glove box, found the invoice, and I called the other shop that indicated they would look at it but it was probably covered under warranty. Darrin had my truck put back together said he was disappointed to lose the work but I should take it back to the other shop. He may have lost my business this week but gained a loyal customer for life. read more

You know the old saying, screw me once , shame on you, screw me twice shame on me, well, guess what , shame on me for going back to Midas, this shop has the worst customer service, rude employees, and are shady in what they do.About 8 years ago i took my Ford Explorer in for some work, needed a new radiator, front control arm, they gave me a quote of around 1700.00.At the time i was new to the area, and like all of us looking for a good shop for my vehicles. 1 day after picking up the car, my wife was driving to Everett, called me to say that the transmission was acting funny,i told her to get it to the shop so they could look at it, as we all know trans lines are connected to the radiator for cooling the fluid,Well she never made it,When i got to her and opened the hood, i noticed that they had used zip ties to hold the radiator in, this was because i was told they had ordered the wrong radiator, but wanted to get the car out as quick as possible, as we were in need of it the following day, well, needless to say the transmission was shot, they had the vehicle almost 2 weeks, from what i can remember.Thank god its been OK since. SO i gave it another shot, did my own brakes as i have done for the last 20 years on my F-250, something wasn't right, i could not get a hard peddle, i figured something else was wrong, maybe master cylinder, or god knows what, so i took it to them,they said it would be about 360.00 to correct a dumb mistake on my part, which was installing the front calipers on opposite sides, well i tried installing them the correct way, but the brake lines did not match up after. I WAS TOLD BY THE GUY WHO CALLED THAT THEY HAD LOCATED NEW BRAKE LINES TO THE TUNE OF 240.00, WELL AUTO ZONE SELLS THE SAME LINES FOR 80.00,Then proceed to tell me that it was now at 700 and change, i told him it was out of line, stop all work, put it outside, ill pick it up.Low and behold,i took it hOme took off the tires, looking at it, i took the calipers off turned them upside down, bled them and reinstalled them , about 30 minutes after i picked it up from them, i had my brakes like they had always been, no new lines,just plain old common sense,do not use this garage they are sneaky, dirty, low down dirty crooks, i plan i standing outside the shop soon with a sign to deter people from getting there cars repaired there read more
