I had work done at the Midas in Tucson before a trip to CO. My MPG is always 54 on the highway. When heading out after the repairs, I was getting 39 MPG. Tucson said I could go to any Midas and have them look at it. I called the Boulder Midas. I talked with Chaz. He said he was not a mechanic but was there to educate customers. I had struts and bushings replace, and a new O2 sensor in Tucson. When I told him of my reduced MPG, he said it was most likely bad gas. He said gas stations have started adding water to their gas. I asked him if he though it was merely coincidence that I got bad gas just when this repair was done, and that the repair had nothing to do with this reduced MPG. He said yes. He made no mention of struts being stiff, wheel alignment, a faulty O2, or any other mechanical issue that could be involved. Nope, just bad gas. read more

I've been a loyal customer at the Midas on 30th in Boulder for five years. However, since recent management changes, my experience has declined significantly. During my last visit, several issues arose that left me deeply disappointed. First, the final charges were substantially higher than the quote I received, with no clear explanation for the difference. When I questioned this discrepancy, the response I received was unprofessional and dismissive--I was told they could simply reinstall my old parts. While the pricing issue was eventually corrected, it only happened after I had to become defensive and advocate strongly for myself. This should not have been necessary. More concerning, the brake replacement was performed incorrectly. The hardware was installed improperly, causing friction on both the brakes and emergency brake. I had to take my vehicle to another shop to have the work corrected, which was both inconvenient and frustrating. Additionally, despite purchasing lifetime warranty brake pads and having coupons for other services, I was told the coupons couldn't be applied because the pads themselves were already discounted. This felt inconsistent with how my previous visits were handled. In all my years as a customer, I have never felt I was treated improperly as a woman. However, after leaving the shop that day, I couldn't shake the feeling that my gender played a role in how dismissively I was treated. That realization was both disappointing and disheartening. After five years of patronage, the combination of poor workmanship, unclear pricing, and uncomfortable customer service has lost my business. I've found a new shop at Big O down the street where I feel valued and confident in the quality of work. I'm genuinely disappointed it came to this, as I had been a satisfied customer for so long. read more

Went in for a really expensive oil change and got ripped off. They didn't even top off my other fluids including coolant and windshield wiper fluid. Wow! I'm from out of town and was just needing an oil change, which is one of the easiest services to provide when it comes to automobiles. While waiting on my car another unsatisfied customer came in and complained about the work that was done on their car. Said they actually caused more harm to their vehicle.. Added a hidden fee to the oil change! My daughter went into Midas to get an oil change on her Mini Countryman. She was told it was going to be 120 dollars and nothing about an "obstruction" charge. Once the oil change was completed the manager, Alan, told her that he gave her a discount and charged her and additional 40 dollars to remove 2 bolts and "check" for leaks on the washer fluid reservoir. A job that might take a minute and should be part of the oil change standard fee. The real issue is the bait and switch. Not telling my daughter about this additional charge upfront is shameful. What kind of scam are these guys running? Took my recently purchased used 2013 GLK into Midas on Walnut for brake pad and rotor replacement. Quoted "around $1200" on the phone. First red flag was they hand you a drop off sheet without an estimate. Also, the VERBAL estimate is now $1400. This should be a pretty standard number and a national shop like Midas should have this standardized. As I am waiting for Uber, the mechanic asks me if I have the security socket for the lug nuts. I hadn't noticed that they had small lobes on them. Of course, we can't find one in the car. He tells me that he can drill them out and replace them for "about $20 per nut. Plus labor..." With 20 of these we are looking at $400++. I tell him, I'll check with Mercedes and see if they have the socket. From here it was high pressure sales tactics. "It's only a fraction of the total cost..." Ummmmm no, it is $400++ and that isn't a small fraction of $1400. "This is a custom lug nut, not the Mercedes standard. You won't be able to find the right socket. If your brakes are pulsating, the car isn't safe and you should get it fixed now..." Great, it has made it a month, we can go another day. I'll check with Mercedes anyway. A few more lame reasons why I should leave the car there and he finally relents. I chat with the manager about this and he tells me that the guy is a great mechanic and I should take his advice. 30 minutes later I am at Mercedes Westminster and the parts department tells me that it is a standard nut and you can put a 12 point 17mm socket on it no problem... Took it to Autohaus in Boulder and what do you know? New brakes, no BS. read more

I added 1.5 inch lift pucks to my car so I needed realignment. Didn't have a ride to and fro the shop during so I just sat and did some homework/chatted with the manager. Recently they're under new management, and the new manager seems like a great guy. Super respectful of any questions asked about cars, regardless of how basic. Before the alignment half of my camber and toe values were outside the acceptable range, and they were able to get all but -1.7 camber on a single tire in the green. I've only driven 100 miles since, so I'll update again in a few months, but so far everything is all good. I'll also mentioned, when I've been to other places for discussing new tires/wheels I could tell they wanted to make a sale, but here they actually strayed me away from some ideas that may not suit the longevity of my car. read more

Considering the temperature today, it seemed like everyone in Boulder had the same need to get their tire pressure checked. Thus, when I reached Midas, I expected to be turned away or, at the very least, would be waiting several hours. Instead, Alan and his team checked my TPMS immediately, and they gave me some tips about how to handle this problem in the future. If I ever have any car issues, I'll choose Midas, as they were fantastic to deal with this afternoon. NOT A RELIABLE SHOP I took my first newer car to Midas for my oil changes. They seemed to be doing a good job, until I took my car to the dealership to get inspected, about 20 days after an oil change at Midas, and they noticed an oil leak, apparently caused by a dent in the oil pan right around the drain plug (SEE PICTURES). The dealership or any other shop DID NOT perform an oil change in my car after Midas, since it had just been done less than a month ago. So I brought it up to Midas, who asked to check the leak. I asked them to not touch my car before showing it to me. But instead, they tightened the drain plug and wiped all the oil leak, but the oil kept leaking after that. The manager Tobi did not show any willingness to deal with me and with the problem. He was actually rude to me. A couple days later, trying to deal with Midas, I was told by the manager that they had notice a brand new screw in the drain plug, meaning that someone else had put it there and possibly caused the dent. But I DO NOT know about it, I'm very unaware of this new part, it's my car, I know that no one else touched it, which makes me believe that Midas put it in there in the attempt to fix the damage they caused. It's very unlikely that a rock caused the damage, like Kurt insinuated. If you just look at the dent, you can tell it was not a rock (SEE PICTURES). It was a bad performed oil change. I had no leaks before Midas worked on my car, I had just bought it from the dealership.  My car needs a new oil pan because of a damage caused by Midas and they refuse to acknowledge it. Logically, it couldn't have been anyone else that dented my oil pan, otherwise I would have been blaming other shop, not Midas. They offered to repair my car for half of the price (wire), so I accepted and paid for it, but the very next day after the oil pan replacement, MY OIL PRESSURE LIGHT came on!!! It was thanksgiving, I couldn't take my car back and I missed my dinner because I couldn't risk to drive.  On top of that, what should have taken 2 hours, took them 5 and I missed a day at work. So I took my car to Subaru asap to find out that a sensor is not working. Coincidently, right after Midas worked on my car. Midas doesn't know what they are doing and at this point I just want my money refunded. Ideally, Midas should pay for my expenses related to the jobs they messed up. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR CAR TO MIDAS. I understand that mistakes happen and that they didn't mean to damage my car, but their attitude towards it is a shame to Midas and unfair to clients, who have to simply trust that their cars are in good hands, when they cannot see the mechanic actually working on it. Thanks to Midas I had to expend extra $375 out of my pocket and missed my thanksgiving dinner because of the bad job they did. Take your car to the best dealership around who can take responsibility for their work and employees and have good reviews on google. Specially if you are a young girl with an accent and they think they can fool you. GO TO SUBARU FLATIRONS!!!! MORE EXPENSIVE BUT GREAT SERVICE. read more

Well. Took my car to Midas for an oil change. They took it into the garage pretty quick, which I appreciated. Less than a 10 minute wait. That said, after my car was already being worked on, I learned they were going to charge me somewhere between $80 to $140 (with the "upgraded" oil) for a simple oil change of a ten year old car. I declined, then was told they'd already emptied my oil and put a new oil in. Curious, as I hadn't "decided" which new oil to put into my car. Giving them an extra star as they agreed to not charge me after this fiasco, but also never returning. Feel conned. Went back to my regular mechanic (who I'd only diverged from because they were so busy -now I better understand why). Recommend avoiding this place for a place with integrity. read more

$34.45 to replace a out bulb. They spent less than 15 minutes and charged $31.20 in labor! I'll never return to this place. They also didn't mention the price until after the repair was done. Typical scummy mechanics. Update: I have emailed them and they wrote back they charge $129 per hour. My backup camera is also now flickering since they didn't wire things correctly. I love this place. Seems like an odd thing to say about a Midas shop but the service is great. I always feel like I've been treated fairly and honestly from buying tires to getting oil changes. And they offer a great deal with a package of four oil changes for $68 that has no expiration date. We've been going there for years and the face behind the counter have remained the same trustworthy faces. And I love seeing a woman working in the bay! read more

Arrogant, Expensive and They Don't Stand Behind Their Work. In October 2018 a friend was moving out of state so she gave me her "Midas Gold Card". It is a little cardboard card that you buy and can get additional discounts from this place so I took my truck in for an oil change. They said I needed new tires (which I did) so $850 later I rolled out of there with an oil change, new tires and an alignment. The tires would not hold pressure. Every other day I was adding air to them so I took the truck back in to them. They said I needed "new seals" mine were bad so they did the work and I drove away. After that the tires would hold air pretty well. I check them every few weeks and add air when needed no big deal. I live 5 minutes from work so most of my driving is very lite and most of 2020 I haven't driven much at all. Well, now its February 2021, I have put only 10,000 miles on those tires and I'm preparing for a long road trip. I brought my truck in for a tire rotation and they said my front end was way out of alignment and the front two tires are totally shot. Now they want to charge me $550 for two new tires and an alignment... I asked if they could come off that price since they had done the original work and I had bought the tires from them. The guy looked down his nose, gave a kinda snort, and said "no, maybe if I had brought the truck in six months earlier" then he might would have helped me out but after two years they wont stand behind their work. I get that two years had gone by but it was the way this guy was speaking to me. Like he couldn't care less about me or the work that they had done. Save yourself, and your wallet, a big headache and go to Discount Tires where they treat their customers with respect. They replaced those same two tires for $385. For those who would like a short answer: Don't go here...For anything. Ever... If you'd like to know why, please indulge yourself in the following: You'd think an oil change would be a simple job, right? Think again. I went to Midas to get my oil changed. It went smoothly initially. Not even 20 minutes after I left Midas, my check engine light came on with a blinking cruise control signal. I called them, stating my observations, to which I was told to come back so they could check on the problem - they reset the computer, tightened the air filter and sent me on my way. No crime done, you expect these things from corporate companies. Two days later, the check engine light/cruise control combo came on again, this time on my way to work. (Note: the day before I had also had trouble started my car - it took three times to start). When I got to work, I opened the hood, and boom, smoke. Something no one wants to see coming out of the hood of their car. I called again - this time stern and communicating my frustration - they said, once again, to come in so they could take a look. If you aren't keeping track, don't worry, I am - this would be the third time in three days that I would be pulling up to their shop. But I guess you expect these things from corporate companies... So, you'll understand that I went in with a stern but practical request that I would like a refund and that I would like to take my service elsewhere. This is an oil change, remember? Not rocket science. I arrived back at Midas and they insisted on taking a look. This time I stayed to watch. After checking the oil multiple, futile times and plugging in their computer, the mechanic, Toby I think his name was, pulled me to his computer where he first proceeded to tell me that the lights coming on had nothing to do with their work - even as I insisted that these lights began to come on immediately after I left their shop. He instead started talking about a random code with a solenoid in the car which he began to blame the entire problem on - but had no idea how or why this was being pulled up. And now, just wait for it: He then started to google and youtube the topic, right in front of me. By this point, you can imagine I was fuming and voiced my concern once again that I want a refund, because I can youtube and google solutions to a problem, too. Still, I managed to keep cool and wait for this so-called mechanic to finish his youtube thrills. After resetting my car's computer and checking the oil once again, as if it would magically give them an answer they released my car and said I was good to go. "That's it?" I said "Yep". No refund, not even an apology. "Fine I'd like to talk to a manager." It's alright, I tell myself, you expect these things from corporate companies. But what was to follow, should not be expected from anyone, not even corporate (which by the way, I already have VERY low standards for) when it comes to customer service. After explaining this situation to the manager once again (who just happened to not be wearing a name tag), I received no refund and no apology, from the most senior level employee at this specific location, who then insisted that this was their "master mechanic" and if he said that it wasn't their problem, then it wasn't...That's all I got. As I left, I made sure to let this manager and the employees know to expect a review from me - plain and simple, no aggression or snark in my reply - and in return, this angry manager immediately went to the defensive and raised his voice at me, stating " really?! You're going to threaten me with a review?!!" As I explained to him quite candidly that I am just exercising my freedom of speech, he proceeded to follow me out to my car and yell at me that I did not deserve a refund and that I should actually owe them money for the "service" they had just done for me. As I left Midas, checking my rearview mirror, frustrated and disturbed, the lasting image I saw of this place was an angry man, waking towards me and my car, defensive and aggressive. Now if you've made it this far with me, you realize that I am not joking around. I work in customer service- I understand that it permeates EVERY ASPECT OF BUSINESS. Not only did I receive horrible and lazy service to begin with, but the follow up and the reaction to their own mistakes were what sealed the deal. Whether you are a mechanic, a doctor, or a checkout person, the way you treat people goes along with the skills you have. Regardless of skill, I believe courtesy towards others is not only necessary in business but in our every day lives. I received neither from Midas. And I will never return to this place. The lesson here - do your research. Takegood care of your car and all services for that matter, even for the smallest thing. Go to local shops. Be kind to each other. Absolutely love this auto repair shop! The GM, Curtis, is a true gem. The mechanics are great as well! My car needed, what I thought, was minor repairs. Turns out I was wrong and I needed much more work then I thought. New brakes, tires were bald, wipers, washed fluid, a new belt, etc. It was an expensive day to say least. I had a very positive experience at Midas in Boulder. I made an appointment online, and prior to taking my car in, I read the Yelp reviews carefully, both the positive and negative, and so I felt prepared going in. When I dropped the car off, I made a point to decline the "Midas Touch Courtesy Check". Also, I knew their hourly rate is $129, and I figured that my very simple repair would probably take 15 min, so I anticipated a labor charge of $32.50, which turned out to be correct. That, plus a very reasonable charge for the replacement part, and they actually came in a few dollars less than I was anticipating. And I can say that they used a very good replacement part, and the installation was very professional and heavy duty. read more

First off, went for an oil change...when I came to pick it up they took my 80$ and said bye. Turns out I had a leaky windshield wiper hose. Actually the hose was cut...instead of a "trusted" mechanic telling me about this issue the technician put a screw in the hose to stop the leak and PROCEEDED to refill the reservoir, knowing very well...the hose was trash and wouldn't help me later when needing replacement. I called and told them that I wish they told me and they wished me luck on getting it fixed. I do not trust this place. Now I see why there was no wait. read more

I had my brakes fail on highway 119 due to a bleeder valve not being secured by staff members after replacing my breaks (all the fluid ran from my lines) and since that time a series of events have taken place that have forced me to seek out other mechanics in Boulder. I dropped off my vehicle on a saturday for 5 hours of work, what the shop didnt know (nor did I for that fact) was that I would have to return in 1.5 hours to retrieve a item out of my truck. To my surprise I noticed my truck was in the lot, apparently the vehicle had all of the work done 3.5 hours sooner than I was told. My fear was that someone had once again (see earlier comment regarding my breaks) failed to comply with their duties involving properly fixing my vehicle. After a very brief discussion with that owner, I was told that I actually didnt pay enough and I was "lucky" that I wasnt being billed for 6 hours (still confused since all of the work took less than 1.5 hours - I dropped it off 1.5 hours prior and I am assuming it wasnt brought directly into a bay for work), needless to say confusion set in and I decided to call corporate. After calling corporate and complaining about the manner in which i was talked down to by the owner, they passed on my complaint to the owner (yes the owner that had previously yelled at me). This again confused me since I was complaining about his behavior - needless to say he (the owner) proceeded to yell again as if I were an employee. So I had my truck in today to have the rear brakes and rotors repaired. Apparently the seal on one of them was leaking too. No way for me to verify that since I"m not a gear head but I went ahead with the service. The truck is 9 years old and I understand that things break down. Anyway, this morning I went over the charges with Randy on the phone. We discuss the total and I specifically asked "that's it, nothing else besides sales tax." He called during the day to discuss other work that needed to be done. I agreed. So, imagine my surprise when I arrive to pay my bill and it was $65 more than expected. $16 for shop supplies and $50 extra for synthetic seal lubricant. First of all, the extra charge for synthetic wasn't discussed. I'm gullible when it comes to vehicles and would've agreed, but I don't like surprises. Secondly, "shop supplies". Um, that's the cost of doing business and running a shop. I assume it's built into the price. You run a shop, I shouldn't be nicked for the cost of cleaning up. Anyway, I should've refused but I wanted my truck back and had stuff to do. I assume they count on that. Next time I'll require an estimate in writing. read more

I started taking my car here about three years ago. Service started out great and has steadily gone downhill. It used to be that I could come in around five (they close at six) and get my oil changed, even if they were busy. The changes were relatively quick and reasonably priced. Lately, they haven't been so great. The last time I came in, they were pressuring me to buy a bunch of stuff I didn't need. They even pulled out my recently replaced, bright yellow air filter and told me it was filthy and needed to be changed. This week, they've been dead. With one car in the garage, they told me on two different occasions that they're too busy to take me and I have to come back at 7:30 am. I explained that doesn't work with my schedule, but that's apparently the only time they can take me. Part of me suspects it's because I bought their four oil change package, so now they're giving excuses to keep me from redeeming it. After all, they've already got my money, so why bother actually providing the service? I can't figure out any other reason they'd tell me they're too busy even though the place is dead. To top it off, the employee was complaining to the only other customer I saw that business has been really bad lately. Gee, I wonder why? Perhaps turning down customers is part of it. read more

I have used them for the oil change special. They seriously rip you off for their labor charges, even when confronted about them. I used to come here for the oil change special it started to be lots of recommended work after each oil change and they stressed the urgency of doing the work. I thought about it but 3 months later the issues they stressed the previous time changed and the new issues appeared. After 3 or 4 times of this and them not standing behind their work, I have had enough. While their oil change card seems like a good deal, i'd be would be wary of taking your car there or trusting their advice. Easily the most over priced and fraudulent mechanics in boulder. read more

This place is the worst. I took my car here to get an oil change and they damaged the parts. I couldn't get my oil changed at all unless I replaced everything, which they refused to take responsbility or pay for because parts getting damaged "happens all the time." All of the auto places I took my car to swore that this does NOT happen all the time and that somebody at Midas must have forced my drain plug in incorrectly. When I spoke to the employees about this problem, they were rude and condescending, and the manager Curtis is no better. It is only after I threatened to leave bad reviews did he offer to fix my car at a discounted rate, but it honestly wasn't worth coming back to this location again so I got it fixed somewhere better. Listen to the bad reviews! I ignored them because I needed a cheap oil change but that made me way worse off than if I went somewhere else. Trust me, take your car anywhere else but here. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!! Recently brought in a 2001 Chevy Blazer to replace a blown oil coolant line which caused the car to shut off on the highway. Everything seemed fine at first; they gave me a reasonable quote for the job, had it done in good time etc. When I went to pick up the car however, they charged me a higher price than what was quoted, did not put all the parts back in the car that I needed to leave, and spilled oil all over my passenger seat (picture attached). When I went to leave, the engine was making an awful screeching noise it had never made before. I tried to drive it home at low speed (I only live a mile away), but it died before I even made it that far. Found out once I checked under the hood that they had never added any engine coolant to my car, which they should have done to test the new oil coolant line (you cannot properly heat and pressure test it without coolant). Also, they restarted and ran my car for some time with no coolant, which can permanently damage the engine. Lastly, they let me drive away with the car and even said it was "running fine" before I left, even though they never added any coolant. Complained to the general manager about all of this, but he accepted no responsibility and made me feel that I had done something wrong. He even said, "What if the wheel fell off, would we be responsible for that too?" Didn't think it was necessary to ask them to add oil and engine coolant in the car which are both necessary for it to run safely, especially considering I'm not mechanically inclined. Really disappointed and surprised as to how they treated me and my car. Needless to say I won't be trusting the "Midas touch" again anytime soon. read more

Seriously, they did a great job! I'm not sure where these other reviews are coming from because the guys here rock. I got the LivingSocial deal for an oil change and inspection, and went in with a little trepidation because I wasn't sure if I was going to get the "Oh, you're a bargain customer, so I won't spend as much time and effort on you" treatment or not. This has been my experience before with LivingSocial and Groupons, along with car places sometimes trying to rip me off because I'm a woman. That plus my extreme reluctance to do anything to my car didn't have me jumping for joy to go. But I'm so glad I did! I gave them a call beforehand to let them know that I was coming in (with a LivingSocial deal), and the gentleman who answered the phone was super kind and courteous, putting up with me changing my mind about twice about the time to come in. Once I made the trek out there (seriously, I need to check the location before I buy these deals sometimes), I was about fifteen minutes early but they didn't even blink, just took my keys and got to work. Afterwards, both the front desk man and the mechanic gave me updates, and again were very friendly and polite the whole time. I was out of there before my originally scheduled appointment! I have been going to this Midas in Boulder for years and I am always very pleased by the honesty and integrity of the mechanics. I love it that they always give me "good", "better" and "best" options for repairs the car needed based on priority and my budget. I have always felt like they shoot straight with me. When I was purchasing a used car for my teenage son, I took every single potential purchase to Midas to have them look it over before buying it and always received great advice about if the car was a good value and what kind of mechanical issues I would be looking at. I am a single mom on a budget and I so appreciate the great service and having someone I can trust not to take advantage of me. read more

I had a great experience. I drove in, no wait. I had a check engine light and poor gas mileage and surging engine (high rev). They quickly diagnosed it as needing a thorough cleaning of the intake manifold which included a cleaning of the various sensors. This is a complicated Toyota hybrid car and yet no problem at all for these guys. None of the local Toyota dealers would see me in less than 5 days. Job done with Midas within 90 minutes and at the quoted price. 1200 miles later still no recurrence. The dealer would have cost me more and may have tried to sell me new sensors. Wow! I'm very impressed with my experience here! First of all, I dread having my car serviced most of the time because I'm afraid of getting taken advantage of. I have a serious lack of knowledge in anything involving auto repairs, etc. I went today for a routine oil change to this Midas and was given EXCELLENT service. I got a great price for an oil change, plus they rotated my tires and checked all of my fluids, tire pressure, etc, which was included in the price. The gentleman who helped me was extremely personable, smiley and even cracked a couple of jokes. He gave me a time when my car would be ready for pick-up and, sure enough, it was ready on time. Here's the best part: I had forgotten to bring up that one of my wipers was not working and when I picked up my car they had already fixed it!!!! I will never go anywhere else to have my car serviced. Ever. read more

Thieves, liars, and crooks. The dealership told me I was in need of new front brake pads. I went to O'Reilly auto parts and they found the correct brake pads for my year make and model. I brought the brake pads to Midas and they told me they were the wrong brake pads. Then they upped sold me on their own brake pads. After I got the car back from them the front brakes were making a bubbling sound, and the brake pedal would go straight to the floor and barely slow down the car. When I returned the pads I had bought to O'Riley, they double checked the year make and model and confirmed that they were indeed the correct pads. I brought the car back to Midas to have them fix the problem and they told me that they bled the brake lines and added brake fluid even though the car was only in their garage for 10 mins. They also refused to accept any accountability, and when I insisted that they were responsible, the mechanic jumped in my car, screamed at me, and peeled out across the parking lot in my vehicle. Then the manager came out to yell at me in the parking lot and tell me how lucky I was that they weren't charging me $100 to look at my car. As soon as I got in the car, the brakes started gurgling and went straight to the floor again. Midas clearly had done nothing at all on the car. I will now have to spend hundreds of dollars on a real mechanic to fix their mess. I have never had a worse customer service experience in my life. Unless you're looking to have your car destroyed and get yelled at by Midas employees, I would avoid this hack-job, chop-shop at all costs! read more

I needed to new tires, so I chose Midas in Boulder to do the work. After discussing other potential repairs with several other auto shops, I brought in the list and presented it to Barry and Troy for pricing. To my great shock, after examining the car they stated that several of the items did not need repair and the two that were viable, did not need to be done for a few months. They replaced my tires, front brakes/rotors that needed the work now. As a single woman, it is so very refreshing to have confidence in an auto repair shop so close by that is honest and cares about the customer! read more

I needed my brakes fixed, and went to Midas on 30th in Boulder. It ended up being $400 or so for parts and another $400 for labor (2-3hrs max). A couple days later my brakes weren't working right so I asked them about it. They're not able to check vehicles off site, so I was car-less over the weekend and then had to pay Marv's towing (recommended) to bring it down the mountain and back in to Midas. They fixed whatever was wrong at no additional charge, but they were not able to give me a reasonable explanation about what the problem had been. They didn't reimburse my towing expense or acknowledge any correlation between their work and it lasting less than 20 miles before breaking down. So that is why I'm leaving a one star review ... sorry guys. I hope if there was a quality control issue you're aware of that it can be remedied for future customers. read more

Have always had good luck with Midas in Denver, but these guys are a different story. Not particularly nice, they make you kinda just feel like an idiot for bringing in your car. Have gone in before for oil changes, and the whole ordeal is really just an unpleasant experience; they always come up with things they say are wrong and will cost $$$ to fix, but when you really ask them about it they say its not that big of deal. Is it or isn't it Midas? Went in after a small accident to ask if they could check if there was any mechanical damage (engine, etc.) and they looked at me like I was literally insane. Said they could not give me an opinion on the BODY and couldn't help me. First of all, I'm aware of the condition of the body, I was worried about whether or not the engine or anything around it suffered any damage. Needless to say, I gave up, left, and will not be returning. read more
