I've been going to this location for a number of years. The latest was an oild change for my new vehicle. Scheduled on-line for next day appt. Everything went smooth. Sat and waited, not too long. Free water/WiFi made the time go quick. Free tire rotation and $20 off for a full synthetic oil change. Price was in-line. Service was great. I'll definetely be going back. "Alternator Nightmare" my 2016 Grand Caravan is towed my vehicle here simple replacement i have "Car Shield" NP I get a call from car shield stating they want close to $600 for a Alternator and $322 for labor, car shield sent them 1 ok 2days later picked it up woke up next morning car won't start ,towed it back to towed it back to shop oh it needs a starter hmm, ok called car shield approved oh by the way the alternator burned up needs another one 4days later ok van ready oh yea nothing was wrong with the starter we are sending it back hmmm, another $271, they me we had to rewire ground wire it was smoking remember car wasn't running i was charged $86 +$152 labor car didn't cover this .they took my battery extension cables that was for this car $53.00, and was replaced with a $7 top post terminal and a $17 battery cable that was taped together on the positive ugh 5min tape job $152 . Liars , good thing is for $300 they lost over $3000.of service work on my BMW and $1000+ o labor work on my van recommendation bypass . read more

Showed up for appointmen. fully asked and stated I didn't want inspection. he then explained they put it up and do and inspection. never was I told my vehicle would be taken off lot and driven around. the driver was gone for more time than normal and I was already not happy that someone was off driving my car. Florida is untrustworth! Letting an hourly paid mechanic take sometijng they can never afford blows my mind.. never was told even after expressing I didn't want or need an inspection. clearly stated I just want an alignment. explained they have to go drive it around I stated well they should tell someone that you are allowing someone to take the vehicle off propert.. then I was told to leave and they wouldn't work on my vehicle for expressing my concern. read more

Fast friendly service at a reasonable price. The staff was very considerate of my time and requests. I called a day early and provided the information for my new tires and they were ordered and delivered the next morning. I arrived at this location and my car was immediately taken in for service. I was in and out within an hour. That's great service. This location has some 90 days same as cash offers that can really be helpful when your funds are low. The staff continuously provided updates as the work was being completed which allowed me better planning time. The lobby was quiet so it actually allowed me an opportunity to get work done. All of my questions were answered and I arrived back at work with a necessary task completed. This is a place I would recommend if only for an oil change but definitely for other vehicle maintenance. read more

I took my car into Midas for a major repair. They gave me the usual run around. Oh you need this you need that. I said fine go ahead and do the repairs and we will be settled for $3100. Well i prearranged a pickup for all of my old parts after the service was complete. Well now that day has come and all of my parts aren't available for pickup. Weird especially after talking with an ASM. Well they fixed the original problem but they definitely broke something during the process. They refuse to take responsibility for the damaged part. This place is not customer friendly and will try to drain every dollar they can from their customers. Do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

CAUTION -- This is a dishonest auto repair business that at least preys on older females. My wife took her car here for alignment and oil change after replacing tires. They offered specials for these services. Obviously this is to lure customers into this franchise. But they are looking for much more money from their customers. The newer vehicle only has 32,000 miles, but according to the the fraudulent technician - the vehicle alignment was way off and he needed to replace some bolts (???) as they were worn in order to complete the alignment adding over $500 to the bill. The car is under warranty so we took it to the local dealership. The verdict? No alignment was needed, and the dealership had no idea what bolts these thieves were talking about. Received a nice welcome by name as I entered the shop, had two people work on my car to quicken my wait time, was informed I needed a new air filter, tire balance, and new wipers, and was out of there in under an hour. Nothing, not social distancing, no hand sanitizer, no acknowledgement for the safety of their customers. SERVICE: Dropped my SUV off at 2pm for oil change and fluid check. Said it would be done in an hour. They called back at 3pm to recommend balancing tires and repairing the rear differential. The car was fully checked six months ago, adding new tires. I experienced no shimming at highway speeds so probably didn't need balancing. The car was still on the rack without the rear tire. But since they had rotated the tires... I begrudgingly agreed. Checked in with my auto mechanic at home. He said to not worry about either issue, they were up-selling me. Too late. Another hour has passed and I'm still waiting for my car. Brought the car in for repair of a slow leak. Midas was not able to repair the tire because it had some insulation for noise and smooth ride. A replacement tire was offered for the next day. The tech who worked on the tire said he removed a nail and could not put it back in, but he said he inflated the tire to 60#. By the time I left the lot it was 18#. I stopped on the way and pumped it up, but it was 2# when I arrived at home 1 1/2 mi away. Midas did not offer to put on the spare tire which would have been the right solution. My dealership said that they can repair the tire, and I have an appointment tomorrow. read more

The desk staff were friendly and accomodating, and the technician did a great job getting the tires on quickly yet effectively. What a relief for me. On our way to vacation in Florida over the Christmas holiday, we drove thru a housing development and picked-up drywall screws through two of our vehicle's tires. We went to Midas-Manatee for tire service - an excellent choice! Brent & Tom at Midas determined that all of the tires were worn to the point that should be replaced rather than repaired. (They were much less than 3/32" tread, so this was a proper assessment.) Our tire size is a bit uncommon, but Midas made an effort to have them delivered the very next day. When we returned, Brent & Tom made sure that we were only without a vehicle for a little over an hour. (We simply walked down the street and had a delicious breakfast.) We are so very appreciative of the fine service that we received. I would certainly recommend this Midas location. Both Brent & Tom were fair, courteous, and provided prompt service. I brought my car in for a basic oil change. I was greeted by the manager. I was told that since my car takes synthetic oil it would cost 65.00 but there was a 10.00 coupon. They changed the oil and rotated the tires. My total bill with tax was 64.00. I drove off and light showed up on my dash saying the tires were not balanced. I went back to Midas they adjusted the tires and reset the light. When I left I called the dealer to see what they charged for my new Honda Fit to get an oil change they quoted me 42.00 I was so surprised the dealer was less than Midas. I really feel taken advantage of. Then guess what the tire light came back on. My opinion is Midas should be better trained on how to work on new cars and they should be more competitive with their prices. I will not be returning to Midas. Buyers beware! read more

I went to fix a simple problem with my car and they told me i had an issue and it would cost $100 to fix but when I took it to my cars actual dealership they told me the piece I needed was 5 dollars and would only take 5 minutes to do myself. I go to Midas all the time! What started me going was I had previously taken my car to a "respectable" garage regarding my brakes. I went to Midas had my oil changed and was getting an alignment done. Going back to the garage I had previously went to, they had my car for a whole day! I went to pick up my car from the garage, they told me nothing was wrong. While getting my alignment, at Midas, Forest the manager had asked ME if I had a problem with my car. I stated yes, Forest then asked me what the problem was, I told Forest that my car jerks when I stop. He showed me that my rotors were shot! Thank goodness I had the money to have it repaired. Point being, that I would have never known that. I have always since, gone there. These folks at the shop are awesome. I can't say enough about Midas on Manatee Ave.!! Me and my mom were regulars here going on 3 years. We had even a Midas credit card with them and usually were handled by Tom the manager who WAS (past tense) helpful. Was having problems with the car and brought it in and had the absolute worst customer service ever with Brent. Not only did he lie to us about the service he could do on the car, tried to push a larger service expense to drain our pockets, but he talked over me and my mom and he had the audacity to establish his masculinity in a conversation where I told him we would prefer to handle the situation with Tom the following day saying "I'm a grown a** man and Tom is going to back me up". Back you up? Suspicious.....We've been coming here because as women we felt comfortable and taken care of but Brent was AWEFUL and cocky. He also lied of his position saying he was the manager when he's only assistant manager. Then after $400 later to find out the cause of the issue and a quote of $5000 repair and hearing nothing from Tom, we decided to take the car somewhere else. Leaving that same day we were approached by a macanic there offering us $1,000 cash same day for the car... SKETCHY BUSINESS. AWEFUL!!! Thank god we took it somewhere else because it only cost $200 to ACTUALLY fix. Brent also tried to say the Turbo exploded (which I've now been informed doesn't truly happen) in the car and it was caused by mishandling (revving the engine for long periods) saying I caused the issue when it was just simple part our new mechanic explained that wasn't working as it should. I have read the other peoples reviews, for example oil change for $19.99 and they were charged extra for other items. Let me tell you if the old change says it's $19.99 how do you think the company could make money out of this. They have to pay rent they have to pay labor and they have lots of other expenses to pay. So when I go for an oil change I am willing to spend around $80-$100. I think this will be around the fair price so I let them add extra items for example air filters and other necessary parts. If you were to change oil with $20 the company is going to be bankrupt so customers whining about the high prices in oil change Think twice before you post your message. Today I went for my second oil change and again I had a wonderful time there. On my way home I thought how could they of rotared them without my key to my wheel lock how did they... I took my vehicle for an alignment, 2 new tires, and brakes on a Friday and told them I was driving out of town on Monday. When I picked up my car, they said the printer which attaches to the alignment machine was broken. They showed me a picture of the alignment screen and assured me it was good. DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE OR MIDAS. Took my Lexus LS460 in for an oil change advertised as $19.95... charged $115. Classic "bait & switch" and in violation of unfair and deceptive trade practices law. They said they reset the oil change light, said they could not reset the cabin air filter light. Then when they backed the car out, a younger employee said he got the cabin air filter light to reset. When I went to start the car next time at home... it would not start as it had perfectly done in the past. I was able to get it started, but had to bypass the auto start push button system... and then system for the first time said "Do not turn off power, system resetting." I had to go to the airport the next day at 6am. I went back to Midas and was treated very poorly, with no offer to help... only a "our certified mechanic is not here until tomorrow." I explained what happened and why I thought it may have been something they did, as above (going into the computer system and resetting the lights, after saying they could not do that with the cabin air filter). After offering not even to look at the car, they then tried to turn it around suggesting it was somehow my fault. Maybe it was a coincidence... but the attitude was horrible! After telling me their certified mechanic was not there, when I pushed him on the coincidence and explained I had to be at the airport the next day at 6am... he said, "I have been a mechanic for 30 years." Again, an insult suggesting I did not know what I was talking about. DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE OR MIDAS. I went back the next day to speak to a manager. He told me the person said he smelled alcohol on my breath, and I do not drink. A lie to blame the customer. And then the manager said, well, I do not like people who drink at all. So, the worker who abused me, knowing the manager has a thing about alcohol, used that to blame the customer. I had to rent a car.
