Please read this review before bringing your beloved car to this automotive shop. Let me tell you about the real Midas experience. I recently moved to Bradenton Florida after serving honorably in the United States Air Force for seven years, active duty, stationed at Fort Bragg NC. I needed my breaks, rotators, and air conditioning compressor worked on in May 2020, maintenance in which I brought to the Cortez Road Midas location. The work was totaled at $2000 and completed within 2 days of work. After driving my car off of the premises I noticed the air conditioning would only blow cold when I would drive but blow hot when I was sitting at a red light. I immediately brought my car back and notified the technicians of the issue. I was told that the AC was blowing cold for them and they did not see any issue with the work they did. Fast forward the whole year of 2020, I contacted Midas again due to the compressor having a 1 year warranty on the part. Brought my car to the Manatee location due to the Cortez location being under renovation. Another compressor was installed and I was charged 826 dollars for maintenance. I drive off the premises for a second time and immediately bring my car back because I am having the same issue again. A THIRD compressor is now installed after Midas works on my car for over a week, leaving me to pay for Uber rides to and from my University and work. I was FINALLY notified that they don't believe it was in fact a compressor issue but a thermostat issue, causing my cabin air conditioning to blow hot. I guess THIRD times a charm EH !? Midas finally fixes my thermostat "for free" and promises my car will be ready on the 29th of May 2021. I pick up my car and immediately notice my interior dash looks like it had a straight razor taken to it, leaving large chips and cuts. Not only that but my air conditioning was not making a constant knocking/drumming sound anytime the air was on. I truly do not understand how all of this could happen and how the manager can possibly approve of this GARBAGE work done to my beloved vehicle. Now I am left with a damaged interior which will drive down my trade in value. But here's the best part, I spoke to the owner and he was willing to give me a 250 dollar in store credit to mend our broken relationship. I WILL NEVER bring another vehicle to any Midas location again so that offer was gladly denied. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME AND BRING YOUR CAR TO MIDAS IN BRADENTON! read more

I really liked getting an online quote and appointment. We attended on time for our 11am appointment to address a leaky tire. The fellow at the counter told us they would take an hour and reiterated the price from the quote, if the tire could be repaired. We went next door to the outdoor seating at McDonalds to wait. I was worried when the car did not move for quite awhile, but I understand that scheduling can be tough and there are others to serve. We watched the tech photograph the car and put a cover on the seat before taking it in - which we appreciated. At the 50 minute mark, the fellow from the counter came out and told us our car was ready. They found a screw in the tire and did a full repair for $35 (not just a plug). We were very pleased with that price. Everyone was friendly and there was no condescension. Information was clear and straightforward. I would definitely go to this location again. read more

Since moving to Bradenton I have been looking for a reliable, mechanic to service both my vehicles. They have done oil changes on both cars and 100,000 tune up on my Cadillac. I had a battery replaced at Midas in February 2021. Where my battery is located, I have a Chrysler Sebring, putting a new battery in is labor intensive and the labor charge is comparable to the price of a new battery. My car would not start yesterday and waiting for AAA for a boost. I contacted Midas and they said to bring car in when charged. They were very accommodating and I finally got there at 5PM. They immediately brought into bay and said they would check it out, and call me today at 10AM. Received call and, no fault of Midas, the battery was bad and they were going to replace battery and no charge for labor. They are a professional business, I will continue to have my cars serviced there and so should you. read more

It was raining Wednesday and I needed an oil change but I live in St. Pete Beach and have a place where I get my cars serviced but I took a chance and stopped in at Midas. Great choice. The first person I met shook my hand and introduced himself, which was surprising ( I am ashamed to admit I can't remember his name Tim?, but he had a great beard). I told him I was going to lunch and he offered me his umbrella as I didn't have one. Upon returning the second gentleman was Forrest (tough to forget that one), also shook my hand and explained a few other details that I would probably look into in the near future. No hard sale, just matter of fact comments. My parents joined us for vacation on Anna Maria. They had taken their car to the local Honda dealership, in our hometown, the day before leaving to have the oil changed and inspection of the car. They , also, balanced and rotated the tires. The car did not drive right and began to knock on the way to Florida. When they arrived, we began looking for an auto service that could check out the car. We found the Midas in Bradenton, called and took the car there immediately...no waiting. We were nervous being from out of town. Tom, the Service Manager, was absolutely awesome!! They found the issue, fixed it in a timely manner, communicated well with my Dad, and charged a descent price with quality work. We could not be more grateful for them. I had an appointment at 6712 Manatee Ave. W. this morning at 11 a.m. My service writer was Tom Pipitone. He explained the problem in consumer language so that this 77 year old woman could understand, and he was right-on with the waiting time to service my vehicle. Both men were very courteous and knowledgeable, offering coffee, etc. while I waited. Bite size candies and magazines were readily available, and I noticed that the waiting area was very clean and tidy. This Midas Service Center is well known for their honesty in Village Green, where I have lived for over 30 years, which is just a tad longer than my 2001 Toyota Corolla at 45,000 original miles! Today was my first visit to Midas on Manatee. I was greeted by a co-manager and my 1st impression was a 'good one'. He was courteous and seemed very customer friendly. My 14 year old Toyota RAV was in need of a new exhaust system. My wife and I were going to donate this vehicle in May so we were not interested in repairing the whole exhaust system. The co-manager gave me a several suggestions, at different price points, on how he could get me back on the road. I was very appreciative that I was given repair options. Long story short, I was back on the road in less than 90 minutes and had my LOUD exhaust noise fixed. YEAH!! I will be sure to use Midas on Manatee for future automobile needs. read more

I am blown away by the service I received at Midas this week. I went in for an oil change and to see why my car was suddenly turning off for no apparent reason. Turns out, my fairly new battery was not working properly and needed to be replaced. He actually called the place I bought it from, had a new one delivered and installed it at NO CHARGE! My oil was changed and tires were rotated and HE DID NOT TRY TO SELL ME ANYTHING! First time EVER, I was not told to replace my air filter. He really went above and beyond. If you've been here before and thought it lacked good customer service, try it again. They hired the right guy for the job! I won't go anywhere else now. read more

BIG kudos to Manager Brent Ryan and staff at this great Midas store. They have really come through for my family and I on several occasions, today being most recent. I had a road-safety issue with my hood and they literally dropped what they were doing, took my car back and "fixed" it immediately. I dont think I was even there for 5 minutes!!! (The "fix" was that I wasnt doing something correctly.....;) Last month they helped me with a battery replacement, we have had brakes and tires replaced there, etc.... Was forced off road by another vehicle and ended up on median. Checked tires afterwords and noted partial flat. Arrived at N. Bradenton Midas and Tom Pipitone welcomed me. Said the were busy so I should leave it to be looked at later, but since I had no other transportation, agreed to look at it quickly. Saw a nail in the tread and no apparent damage to side wall. Quickly removed nail, repaired tire and I was on my way in 20 minutes. What could have been a multi-day hassle was happily handled in minutes. The customer service at Midas on West Manatee Ave is excellent. I've taken all my vehicles there for the past 10 years and never once have I had a reason to go elsewhere. I've seen a couple managers change but all to date are very professional. I trust my vehicles to be repaired and serviced properly there and they don't break the bank like the dealerships. I have a busy schedule at a 24/7 operation and can't always get an appointment. They still take my business without and are diligent at getting the service done before the end of day. I had my front brakes done by a Service Tech WITH the Supervision of the Manager on duty; Tom Pipitone. What I respect and admire is that He looks Directly at me.! He speaks Clearly and looking at me: to ; He Completely Explained the brake sounds to me and made clear what I knew zip about! . Because he was Open, Honest AND a Good Listener I left there Completely Satisfied. He was the Same with Every customer who was there. So , NOW the "metal to metal" sound is GONE !!! I was there for a basic oil change and Jason suggested I change my oil to a different brand. He was very informative as to why I might want to consider this. So I did. He also told me I needed something done with my braking system (preventive maintenance). He gave me a price and that was the price I paid, he didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and the price was very reasonable. I noticed a difference in my braking immediately. Yesterday (Sunday) I drove over 200 miles in anxiety with a loose splash shield (bottom cover under car) careful not to park anywhere that needed backing up, or it would come off. Any small bump caused the shield to scrape it. This morning I stopped at Midas on Manatee Ave to see what they could do to fix this problem, because they always have a solution - whether it's a small problem or new tires. I was driving to work when someone pulled up next to me and let me know my brake lights were out. At this time of year and having an hour commute I was naturally terrified of getting rear ended. I got an estimate online from Midas, and instantly headed in. I explained what was wrong and not only did they get my brake lights working again, they replaced a burnt out bulb and added air to my tires at no additional cost.
