This Midas location was open and able to book my vehicle for an oil and filter change on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Easy in, easy out... about 30-45 minutes total. Also needed a new air filter. Friendly, professional manager, assistant manager, and technician. Kindly checked my catalytic converter status per my request. Helpful in providing directions to the nearest emissions testing station. Passed without a hitch!

Buyer Beware Accidents Happen I had an oil change done by Midas, five days later, the oil filter came loose and my car spilled six quarts of oil all up the street, up my driveway and partially in my garage. The tow truck driver checked out the filter and told me - yes, that is the problem. Midas gave me a new oil change. After I researched the best way to clean oil off concrete, I told Midas, they were going to reimburse me for the chemicals I needed to buy to clean up my drive. They asked if they could have a chance to clean it first - I said - sure. They were supposed to use a degreaser and pressure washer. I had already ready, a pressure washer would push oil further into concrete and hamper the chemical from doing the best job. I told Midas, I only wanted them to test clean a small strip (in the street). The first appointment date/time for cleaning, came and went (airline flight issues I was told). The second cleaning date came and went (staffing issues I was told). I had already cleaned my 45 foot driveway with the chemical I bought - it worked perfectly. The third date/time came - and he was only 30+ minutes delayed. When he arrived, I told him, I wanted him to do the 12 inch strip on the street, and some of the asphalt also with the degreaser and power washer. He stated, oh, I did not bring a power washer, nobody told me about that. He sprayed degreaser on the driveway, and little section of street, and asphalt and pulled out his mop and bucket and proceeded to mop it all down. The mop left all kinds of mop residue on the driveway - which he promised to come back after work to clean up - it never happened. I power washed it myself two days later. The following day (9:00 AM) I went to Midas, asked if he got my receipts - yes, I am waiting to get cash in my drawer to refund you. No call that day. No call the next day. I went up there the 3rd day at 9:00 AM. I was told, he has my invoice, and is just waiting for cash in the drawer. End of day - still no word/phone call. I will pursue via other methods. The worst part of the adventure - is the lack of customer service - not just by the store manager - but by the worker who came to my house. Included two pictures -- one example of before their cleaning, second exact picture of after they performed cleaning. (If I can find the link to post the pictures again.)

I have been searching for a local shop to handle oil changes and minor maintenance work for my son's Subaru and I think my search is now over. As I stated, I just needed an oil change for my son's car (synthetic oil) and Nate and the guys in the back took care of that in record time. I had an appointment at 2pm and the mechanic came out at 2:25 to let me know the scheduled work was completed. My son mentioned that his A/C had been blowing warm recently, and the mechanic said he could take a look at it now. Before I knew it, the A/C had been topped off and it still wasn't the top of the hour. All I can say is fantastic service from this shop. $70 for a synthetic oil change for the Subie, plus the additional cost for A/C service. I did make an appointment for this visit, but I saw many others coming in as I waited to drop of vehicles for future service. If you're local to Castle Rock and seeking a shop you can trust, I highly recommend ColorAuto Service and Repair.

But they are. How do I know? The CR location were in the middle of working on my truck and didn't tell me when they closed. Took my money and ran. I ordered parts to have installed and was assured they would work which ended up not fitting - the icing on top. So I'm out close to $600 to ruin my vehicle. Now, let the fun begin. It took me 2 weeks of calling different factions, but I was able to find their other shop (registered under the same LLC) who informed me "Oh, yeah, that shop is closed." That's awesome - when did you intend on telling me? Why did the techs there suddenly stop texting me back? CO springs stated that they had "no idea" about my vehicle or situation. But offered to help me make it right, apologizing profusely. So when they asked me to drive 55 miles to drop it off, I wasn't happy, but I thought OK, they're trying. Big mistake. After taking the day off from work ($XXX) and wasting my limited personal time driving 110 total miles ($XX in gas) I was also forced to uber from the shop to a coffee place to try and kill X hours before paying to uber back to the shop. I arrived to find my vehicle's windows down parked under a pollenating tree. Nice. Started the car, it sounded OK. Better than before. Ten minutes into my highway trip home I was mortified to hear and then see a clamp fall off and start bouncing up the highway. Moments later the pipe disconnect and began to hang. The cabin stunk of exhaust fumes and the vehicle sounded like a hellcat with open headers. Once safely home - I contacted the shop to tell them, but were closed. I texted the contact I had there (not dropping names) and they offered to "tow it back Monday" hours later. What has this shop done to instill any confidence in me? How do you expect anyone with a single braincell to then trust you enough to tow it 55 miles back and forth without my supervision? Are you kidding me? Here's the best part. When I asked for a refund on the original work - not the time and money spent since getting it "fixed" - I was told that the CO springs location is not responsible for a refund since the castle rock location did the work and they are not affiliated. HAHAHAHHAH. What business would EVER take in someone's vehicle that was f'd up by shop offering to make it right for free? What world do you live in???? You guys need to get your stuff together. I hope this was worth my $450, which I'm already contesting with my bank.
