There was break fluid leaking all over my driveway. Had the car AAA back to the shop for them to tell me they put the breaks on wrong. When I spoke to Reginal manger. They lied and told me my exhaust was leaking from the manifold and I needed both sides drilled and tapped out plus a Y pipe quoted me $2700 I took it to my regular mechanic and it was only leaking at the white pipe like I told them it was at Midas cost me $500 to fix it. I was reading some other reviews and it seems I'm not the only one who has experienced the following.... Brought my car in that had an exhaust leak. They told me I needed new cat converters, and complete exhaust system totaling about 3k. Went to Rayco down the street... $350 Fixed and out the door. stop ripping people off and misleading customers to make profits. Be honest because everything comes out in the wash eventually. They also said.. "you should sell this vehicle". I've never had a problem with it, it only has 90k miles on it and I've always taken great care of it. What you guys "should do"... is get new management and exercise honest business practices. You also may want to clean up the place a bit and be presentable. read more

I went in for an oil change. They did a courtesy check on all aspects of my vehicle. Turns out they say I needed 4 new tires, new brakes, pads, rotors, amonst other things. Little did they know I just had new brakes done elsewhere less than a year ago. So, I was cautious. I decided to take the vehicle to my local mechanic. I asked him to assess the brakes. He told me they were absolutelt fine, and not a single pad or rotor needed replacement. I did end up replacing the front tires, but the back tread was still very good. I do not trust this place. Beware and be cautious. You may end up spending alot more money than you need to. read more

Mechanics in the bay are nice. One was rude. Guy behind the counter was super nice. They also Didn't add any fees. I was in for 4 new tires. Had a promo that made it worth it. However- Took longer than it should. (Almost 2 hours). Additionally- The low tire pressure light just came on. Which is About a week after getting the tires. We'll see if thats their fault. 4 stars because immediately after they put on the tires, my alternator started failing. Their fault somehow?? Hard to say yes. But it would be a weird "coincidence" that my alternator starts to fail immediately (like literally on the drive home) after the mechanics put on new tires. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE. Absolutely horrendous service, that put me in dangerous driving conditions. I came in for four new tires. They replaced the tires and I drove off. A few days later, my tire pressure sensor (tpms) comes on. I took my car back that day and they couldn't find a problem. They reset the system. Tpms light came back on with five miles of driving. Immediately drove back. They still couldn't find a problem and reset the sensor. Light came on again. Immediately drove to a Honda dealer. The technician notices that THEY PUT THE WRONG TIRE ON ONE OF MY BACK WHEELS. The difference in tire mass was throwing the sensor. I immediately drove to the Midas location and showed them the problem. They wordlessly took the car in back, found the correct tire and put it on my car. I should also mention that they severely over inflated my tires (45 psi warmed up, recommended cold psi is 32). This is all during winter. Thank goodness there wasnt any snow or ice on the road. They offered me a free oil change...as if I EVER want to take my car back to them. If they can't do a tire change, I am definitely not trusting them to open up the hood to my engine. I refused the service and asked for a partial refund. They said no. Multiple calls to corporate also said that they couldn't provide a refund. I would not be writing this if they were the ones who diagnosed the problem (mistakes happen, I get it). But a Honda technician had to identify their simple mistake for them. Thank goodness the Honda tech didn't charge me for looking at the car...I would never be able to get that money back. read more

NEGATIVE STARS!!! I had given them a great review back in 2018, only to find out two years later that one of the tires that I bought from them, that they had installed was smaller than the other 3. Well, I don't know anything about cars, but I trusted them for I THOUGHT that they did an awesome job and I had paid for those tires and that service. I WAS WRONG! Now I'm suffering from a lot of car issues because of that tire! I had called them about the issue, and the man told me "I don't know Miss, it's been 2 years." If it was possible, I would give 0 stars. My mother went to get her oil changed today for her Mercedes c-class. They charged her $108 which apparently included a $10 coupon. Since she bought the car, she has never paid this much before. On their website, it states that it cost UP TO $85 for a synthetic oil change. When she called Midas after coming home to question the bill, she spoke to Chris, who "says" is the manager. He informed her that this was the price. When she questioned why the tire rotation and the coupon were not reflected on the bill, Chris could not answer except saying that "you signed for it". She believes she was taken advantage of because of the Coronavirus situation because she didn't feel comfortable questioning the bill there. She nor anyone in the family will go there again, and we have 5 cars. Midas if you want to make good you know how to reach my mother. read more

I'd give negative stars if I could. Jerry is a scam artist and you can't trust anything he tells you. I went in for a simple oil change and left with a mess! First they tried to tell me I came in with a leak ( I didn't), then when I brought it back they insisted they cleaned the oil leak but they didn't it was a disaster. And then charged me for it!!! I went somewhere else and they confirmed the oil change was a disaster and there was oil all over my engine, also they forgot to put the dipstick in, that's like oil change 101!!!!! Do not bring your car here. They wanted me to leave my car there for the day for an oil change and tire rotation saying it takes 45 minutes for the oil change alone. The woman at the front desk told me my car needed full synthetic oil, (which costs much more) when it actually takes regular 5w30 oil. I had a very disappointing experience at Midas in Eatontown, NJ. I was driving in the vicinity and came in and asked them to patch my flat tire. They refused, showing me small nicks on the rubber and that they would be "liable" if they did. They insisted I need a new tire, preferably two. I was in a hurry and since they didn't even have the tires in stock, so I'd have to wait at least an hour to purchase them. Since they refused to patch my tire, I had no choice but to pay them $30 (plus tax) to change to my spare. When I got to Brooklyn Salvatore, a reputable tire place on New Utrecht, told me my tire was excellent and they patched it. Went to Jerry when I was down the shore for a few days and my car was leaking fluid. Jerry looked at my car right away and figured out the issue (a simple cap that was not on tight). ABSOLUTELY NO STARS !!!!! DO NOT GO TO MIDAS IN EATONTOWN NJ ! THEY JUST TRY TO RIP YOU OFF ! I went to them with a coupon for $19.99 for an oil change & free tire rotation. I sat & watched the service person work on my car, never touching a tire. So when I asked Anthony the manager why the rotation was not done he went out & asked. He came back said they never touch tires if there is a problem with them. Ok, what is the problem ? Excuse #1 -- the tire on front p/s is old & has never been replaced ( all 4 tires were replaced at the same time) Excuse #2 -- there is a big chunk out of the tire ( I examined tire -no chunk missing) Excuse #3 --the belt is broken-- Ok that is possible Excuse #4 -- there is something seriously wrong with your front end & car should not be driven , work should be done immediately ! Also was told radiator hose & serpentine belt were bad ( they were both changed last summer) The print out said I was informed I had an oil leak & the engine needed to be steam cleaned to fine the leak ( NO one ever mentioned an oil leak ) Took the car over to Firestone in West Long Branch NJ -- explained the whole ordeal to Ed the manager who personally checked out the front end-- nothing wrong just needs an alignment & a tire. Yes, there is a very Slight oil leak but its a 1997 car-- belts & hose all fine ! THEY DO NOT DO WHAT THEY ADVERTISE AT MIDAS ! NO STARS! I had an axle fixed there in August, drove across country and 7 months later take my car to my mechanic in San Francisco for a clanging noise. He discovers that I am missing 4 of 6 bolts and the other 2 can be screwed with fingers they were so loose. Oh and the clanging noise was 1 of the 4 missing that had lodged itself into my transmission. And the reason the bolts were missing is they never put the washer thing on when they put the bolts on, oops! My mechanic could not tell me enough how lucky I was that my transmission did not fall out at a high rate of speed since I drive on a busy interstate and bridge everyday. Then to add insult to injury the customer relations at Midas corporate are practically accusing me making the story up or something. THEY SUCK! I just want my $$ back that I shelled out on the missing parts, rental car and the axle they SUPPOSEDLY fixed, not much just what is fair and they seem to be hemming and hawing on that. read more
