I took my car in that had over 200,000 miles on it because I knew something was terribly wrong. I needed them to let me know if it was worth fixing or if it was time to get a new car. They told me it needed a new catalytic converter, new spark plugs, and ignition coils. They convinced me that I was better off fixing it instead of getting a new used car. It ended up costing $4300 so I needed to do one of their finance options which will end up costing $10,000 if I don't pay early. I picked it up when they said it was done and they said "it was running great." I left the lot and it instantly did what it already was doing. In fact it was smoking and burning coolant all of a sudden. The manager told me they screwed up and were going to put in a new engine at no cost because they misdiagnosed and one of the cylinders were shot. Then after I left he told me I would need to pay $3000 for labor. I was upset and then he said they would do it for free but he told me that I shouldn't put in the new engine without a new ERG cooler and gaskets. I agreed to pay $930 for that. When the engine came in I asked if I could see the new and old ERG cooler and gaskets and he became angry and told me they were not going to put those in now. So my engine was running on only 3 cylinders I need a car for my business and my son so I had to sell my (now) junk car for parts at the dealership and had to buy a new car. Now I have a $300 car payment and a $500 payment to pay for Midas' misdiagnosis and fake fix. Ultimately I contacted corporate and the Area Director reached out and said he is going to look into it. He has been ignoring me and hasn't even bothered to talk to me over the phone. He finally responded saying the will not refund but will repair (knowing that it's impossible because I had to sell it to get a new one.) Avoid this place at all costs! read more

On 11/18/2025, I visited Midas Auto Service & Tires, 1439 Plymouth Ave, Fall River, MA, to have the brakes serviced on my Mercedes‑Benz GLK250. After the repair, the "Check Brake Pad Wear" message immediately appeared on my dashboard. The manager told me they had replaced the sensors multiple times but could not clear the warning. He stated there was nothing more they could do and advised me to simply reset the message each time I started the vehicle. On 1/27/2026, I returned to Midas because several issues had developed: * Check engine light * Low coolant level warning * Low tire pressure warning * Brake pad wear message still present The manager told me my coolant was "dirty" and needed to be replaced, and that this was causing the check engine light. He also stated that all of my tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS) needed replacement. Later that day, he called to say that all of my lug bolts were seized, that several broke during removal, and that replacing the bolts alone would cost approximately $500. I refused this charge, and we agreed that I would purchase new bolts myself and bring them in. Midas replaced the TPMS sensors on the passenger side but stated the driver‑side sensors still needed to be replaced. After I picked up the vehicle, all of the warning lights returned. A couple of weeks later, I returned again for the remaining TPMS replacements and to have the lug bolts installed. I also informed them that the coolant light, brake pad message, check engine light, and tire pressure warning had all returned. The manager told me they had purchased a new diagnostic computer and that the check engine light was due to low DEF fluid, despite the fact that I had added a full box only days earlier. They claimed to add DEF fluid and coolant, and stated the lights went off. They then replaced the remaining TPMS sensors and installed the lug bolts I provided. I am concerned that all of the lug bolts were suddenly difficult to remove, even though Midas had no difficulty removing them during the brake service a few months earlier. Since they were the last ones to reinstall the bolts, I question whether they were cross‑threaded or improperly installed. Something does not add up. After leaving Midas, all of the warning lights returned again, except for the tire pressure message. At this point, I brought my vehicle to the Mercedes‑Benz dealership for a proper diagnosis. The Mercedes‑Benz service department informed me that: * The brake pad wear warning was caused by a severed brake wear sensor wire, which occurred due to improper routing during the brake service performed by Midas. This was documented on their invoice, and they provided photographs. * The DEF level sensor was faulty, which is why the check engine light was on. * The coolant level was low, which caused the coolant warning to reappear. I returned to Midas to speak with the manager, who told me it was "their word against the dealership's" and refused reimbursement for the brake wire repair, which cost over $500. I then filed a complaint with Midas corporate. I was contacted by Derek Johnson, Area Director for MA and RI for Midas/AMG Enterprises. He stated that Midas was not responsible for the severed brake wire and claimed the harness was routed correctly. His explanation contradicted the dealership's documentation and photographs. He also claimed the brake warning light was not on during either of my visits, which is not true, as the light was present immediately after the brake service and remained on throughout all subsequent visits. I originally requested reimbursement only for the brake wire repair. However, given the likelihood that the lug bolts were cross‑threaded or improperly installed during the brake service -- resulting in additional parts and labor costs -- I am now requesting reimbursement for those expenses as well. I am requesting a total reimbursement of $1,200, which covers: * The brake wear sensor wire replacement * The cost of replacement lug bolts * The labor associated with removing and reinstalling the damaged bolts Midas's repeated misdiagnosis, improper workmanship, and refusal to take responsibility have caused significant inconvenience, safety concerns, and unnecessary expenses. read more

Went to get my belts and fluids checked. I said That i only had 300$. and they said i needed alot of other work. They did everything they can to get as much money out of me as possible . Ithey got me a lone to fix a few things, they fixed my control arms and it took one hour they charged me about 1300$$ I felt pressured to do it they had my car on the lift so i went ahead and got the work done. I left with more lights on my dashboard and more things wrong with my car than i had when i left. And 2000$ bill to pay. And my car broke down and was still smoking. read more

We have been customers of this Midas for over 20 years. The owner Joe was honest, friendly, and seemed to take care of his crew because they never left. They were an amazing team! I heard Joe retired and my daughter went in today unknowingly and they gave her awful service. Took alllll day to get oil changed and tried to charge her a a ton of money and labor for a small part. I brought my vehicle in for an exhaust leak about a week and a half ago. Was told the Y pipe needed replacement. They changed while I waited. My car is quiet now and running great. Problem I have was the EXTREME markup on the price for the part. I paid $1,170.00 for the pipe. Just found out that the same part was half the price at a parts store less then five blocks away from Midas. Part was only about $200 online. Wish I would have known that before going to Midas. Cars these days barely need us owners to do anything to keep them running. However, keeping your oil fresh with a new oil filter is still a vital part of maintenance. I've been using Midas for awhile now. I tried a few other places and wasn't happy. Here, I set appointment via online, it's confirmed quickly and in I go. You can watch them perform oil change and it's done fast. Fluids are filled if needed and you get lubed if your car needs it or is able to get greased. You even can have your tires rotated too. I have a Corolla and it cost me under $30.00. Overall, a good place and a good deal. read more

Took my car here 2/16/2024 for brake lines, they called me an told me I needed 5 brake lines, 1 caliper, pads an rotors an it would be $1600. When I picked my car up on 2/17/24 I paid the $1600 and left, got in my car an my radio was completely off, no power at all. I called an spoke to John he told me they need to jump my car cuz my battery died, he said they left the door open an the interior light killed my battery however my interior light wasn't working since I bought the car in October so I told him that an he said for me to bring it back Monday because they were closed on Sunday. I took my car to someone else and found out they blew 6 fuses under my hood an removed one of them. I will never take my car back to these people. I already felt like I was being over charged for the work they claimed I needed that I didn't believe I needed. I recently had the shocks replaced on my Toyota Tacoma at this location. I had 4 quotes from the area and Midas was the lowest at $506 for all 4 shocks. When I picked up the vehicle a few hours later I was pleasantly surprised the invoice was reduced to $440. They said it didn't take as long to replace and they lowered the price. They could of charged the $506 and I wouldn't know the difference but they we're honest and I really respect that. They just got a customer for life! read more

I recently purchased a 2010 Dodge Challenger SE. This vehicle has a 3.5L V6 and a single exhaust with a rather large resonator. I called this shop to see if they would do some custom exhaust work for me, they said they could. I purchased a Super 44 Flowmaster muffler with a single inlet and dual outlet. They installed the muffler, supplied and bent the pipes I needed, to create a dual exhaust look. They also installed two stainless steel tips that I purchased from Pep Boys. It looks, sounds and functions great! I drove down to the Braga bridge, hopped onto 79 ( everyone that drives this road knows it is full of bumps and potholes ) and not one rattle or vibration. The install is rock solid! In the past I've purchased a Flowmaster kit for a Mustang and it cost more and was not as solid as the job Joe and his staff did. Two hours in and out. read more

Last October while visiting the Dartmouth area our muffler fell off while traveling down the interstate. We are from Virginia and we're not familiar with muffler shops in the area. Additionally We have a special needs occupant van which requires customized muffler repair services. This Midas location did a great job and the owner made us feel welcomed and chatted with us during the repairs. Not that I ever want to lose a muffler again in Dartmouth area I must say if the need for a muffler ever arose again while in the area I would not hesitate to use this Midas location again. read more
