In this state, a repair shop has a duty to verify that the person authorizing work has the authority to do so. The Defense Midas will likely claim "apparent authority"--arguing that because the friend had possession of the keys and the vehicle, they reasonably believed the friend had the authority to authorize the work. Do not have any vehicle repairs done at this establishment!!! My son had a water pump replaced (his vehicle overheated and they were the closest option). They marked the part up 240% and also overcharged on the labor. After inquiring from another Midas location, the job pays 2.1 hours. So either their hourly rate is $50.00 more per hour, or they charged more than the 2.1 AllData shows. In my estimation he was over charged $150.00. Shame on you! I baby all my vehicles, my personal favorite and daily driver is my 23 year old civic hatchback. I've never had any issues with it, but it's old and some slightly major repairs were needed. I usually take all my cars to another nearby shop. But this job was out of their comfort zone. I took it to Midas, and Jennifer took amazing care of me, and the mechanics fixed my vehicle in a very timely manner. The communication was some of the best I've seen. I brought my car in to get an oil change and to have my battery looked at to ensure it was okay prior to the weather temps being extremely cold and was told I have a small oil leak. However, they weren't sure where it was coming from so recommended we do a dye test. I brought it in 2 weeks later and I was quoted for $330 for the labor to fix the leak. I decided to take my car in to a reputable auto mechanic shop that was a little further from home (that ive worked with in the past) to get a second quote and decided to go with them, instead. The mechanic from the reputable auto shop took me in the back where my car was located to show me there was no leak andI was not charged. I immediately drove to midas and they were unable to show me proof where they said the leak was and not to mention, the customer service i received once I expressed my unhappiness and when they could not show me where the leak was, was rude. i requested my money back for the dye test- which i did end up getting, however, be careful doing service here. I got scammed. Lesson learned- ask for proof prior to paying and just automatically trusting what these auto-mechanic shops say. read more

I've been plenty of places to get my Lexus RC maintained and serviced to know the difference. Jenifer the manager was friendly, knowledgeable and professional, and suggested a couple things my car needed (which I know are valid Bc my dealership said the same thing but way more expensive and had much longer list) without being pushy. What caught my attention after getting my car back, (which it was a speedy oil change even though I was late for the appointment) is that they had made sure to fill up and even out my tires. This may seem like such a small thing but I can't tell you how many places I've been to including the place where I bought the tires to get them rotated and they never even made sure to fill it up or check to see they were even. I walked into this Midas, and they were kind enough to patch my husband's tires for free since he bought them from this location. With that being said, however, none of the employees were wearing face masks and allowing other customers to enter the building without social distancing and face coverings. The employee that also took care of my husband's car did not wear a mask or gloves when getting into the car to take it into the garage. They did not make me feel comfortable at all and they showed little to no disregard for safety. read more

Went in for new brake pads in November. It's now only April and started having issues with my brakes sounding rough, so took it in to my mechanic. My mechanic discovered that they placed the wrong brake pads on my vehicle. Instead of ceramic pads, they placed cheap metallic pads on my car and now my caliper pins are frozen. Quoted me $129 per axle for new brakes. Left my car and came back to a $699 bill!! They never called me to tell me it would be more or that anything else needed to be done other than new brake pads!! When I complained, they told me the service had already been completed and I owed the total amount!! Definitely contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

After hearing a bit of exhaust noise, I had a free inspection done. Pipes were ok but it needed a muffler. Their estimate to replace the muffler was $363. Autozone sells .. retail .. a lifetime muffler for $85. Needless to say, I declined. The only reason they get 2 stars and not 1 is that the inspection was free. read more

All the employees at the 116th and allisonville location are so friendly and go above and beyond to help you better understand your car and make sure it runs right. My car was running smoothly but had an oil leak, Midas worked on it 3 times, couldnt fix the leak. But they were happy to take $700 and give me back a car that idles poorly, still leaks oil, and now want me to give them $2000 more to fix it right. Just got done being told that the original brake job midas quoted me 983 bucks to fix (which is way more than the vehicle is worth) is now being done out at mufflers and more in NOBLESVILLE FOR 175 BUCK!!! Midas=crooks. I knew she was trying to gouge me the second she opened her mouth. I would suggest just going to Scott out at Mufflers and more. They are amazing and the best in the area hands down. The gal at the front desk was very helpful and kind. They performed all services in a timely manner, and they have a very clean facility and waiting room. I had a nail in the sidewall of my tire, and although it was holding air fine, I needed to get it replaced asap! I also decided to get an oil change at the same time. I was told a fair price for the oil change and was told I would get called on the tires once they analyzed the situation. The oil change price was great, with a coupon, but tire price seemed high, but what was I going to do...they needed to be replaced! Since having my tires replaced at midas, I've since found online, in a 5 minute search, tirerack.com, where I could have purchased 2 of the exact same tires and had them shipped to a licensed and HIGHLY reviewed shop where the labor to install was only $4 more a tire, and SAVED myself $50 on the 2 new tires (including fees, shipping etc from the website). As I stated, very friendly staff, just high prices for what it was...$90 for an alignment and $33 for an air filter! read more

Dropped my car off this morning and was told it would take 2 to 2 and a half hours, so I had no problem killing that time at the neighbouring Goodwill. Showed up 2 and a half hours later, not only had they not even gotten to my car yet,but told me there was an appointment scheduled. So it would take an additional 45 minutes for that, plus the time to change my oil after that. I understand having to take the appointment before me, that's fine. I would've been fine with making an appointment for a later date if the guy would've just told me upfront either it would be a 4 hour wait or that he wasn't sure how long it would be. I wasn't about to wait around for another 2 hours, so I told the girl to just forget it. She returned my keys without a simple "sorry" or apology or anything, which would've gone a long way with me. read more

I took my SUV in to have the air conditioner looked at, they told me I had to replace the whole unit which was going to cost $1,246 on a vehicle that is 5 years old. I took it to ASG auto and found out that my A/C Clutch was bad and still under warranty...Honda replaced the item for free. I would never go to Midas again. They were rude since I wasn't going to have the car fixed there. read more
