Had a 8:00 am appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. Should have been the very first car serviced. Ed tells me it will be 1 hour. I told him that's way too long. He said, do you want to take your car somewhere else? I told him yes as I could not believe he asked me that. He said what is the problem. I told him 1 hour to do an oil change and tire rotation is way too long for your first customer of the day. He asked me how long would I expect it to take and I said a half an hour max. He asked me where I have had it done in that time frame and I told him several locations. He told me that at Midas, we take 1 hour. Zero customer service as far as I'm concerned which means Midas has lost me as a customer. Special message for Ed. Take care of your customers. Everyone knows it doesn't take 1 hour to complete an oil change and tire rotation. read more

Do not do business with this location. They are very unethical. Very bad customer service and inferior tire quality.

I'd recommend this place wholeheartedly. It's been a hit or miss at times--in the past I've been suggested services I don't need. I know more about cars than I let on. However my last visit Kenny handled business so professionally. He was honest about recommending only what my vehicle needed without pushing fear based sales pitches. He was respectful and really responsive with answers that made sense. A terrific mechanic. And David who worked on my vehicle did an outstanding job. I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

Every time I get an oil change they try to scam me!! Last time was the breaks and this time they said I need 4 new tires. I had a nail in my tire and they said you can't patch it up on where it is at and the tire must be replaced! I have all wheel drive so they said I need to buy 4 new tires. I went to another place to get the nail removed and the nail didn't even puncture the tire!!! They didn't even have to patch or fix anything... so no charge.. all they are trying to do is make more money off you, watch out! read more

This is a review for an oil change only. I received a coupon for a discounted price on oil change. I took my sisters car to this Midas near Lake Forest and Rockfield. They took me within 10 minutes and finished the oil change in about 20 minutes. They were willing to rotate tires for free, but I lost the key lock to my rims, so my fault they couldn't do it. Friendly staff, in and out quickly. I can't tell you how they perform on other repairs, brake jobs, mufflers, etc. I will go back to Midas for my next oil change, even if it is a different location. First time going to MIDAS in Cheltenham for inspection oil change and filter. They came back with a laundry list of things that they claim needed repair. I know something about car and know when rotors are bad and when I need breaks. They added repairs I did not need to increase the cost and I left. This is my last time going to MIDAS. Price Gouging, they will add on repairs you don't need. I asked about the mechanic who they just hired 5 five years ago; MIDAS is mainly known for Tires, so I did not trust their knowledge of auto repairs considering they just hired a mechanic five years ago. I would give them "No Stars" if that was possible!!! I took my Mercedes S 550 in to change out my rimes and an ALL WHEEL ALLIGNMENT and the problems started!!! 1: The stated they would not do the work unless I bought tires as the ones on the car were waring on the inside of the tire. I agreed to that tires and alignment and drove away... 2: Notice wheel ware on the inside and front right tire losing air. took car back and they told me the rim was cracked so I brought a new wheel and they said the tire wear was normal and I spoke to others and they stated no, THE ALLIGNMENT WAS DONE INCORRETLY.. 3: SO, i ask to rotate all the tires when they change the front right, and drove away and got home and looked, and all they swapped was the fronts.. So, I had to drive back, leave the car and also notice a gash out of the tire right where they pulled the tire from the rim. Said it was my fault and i needed to order a new tire... 4: Took car back again to have the tire replaced and paid almost $200 for another tire. With the bad job one the alignment I now need 3 more new tires and that was less then 6 months.. I would not trust these guys as i paid a lot of money just to have to do it again.. I will be filling complaints with the BAR and BBB I also asked for the owners direct number and the manager would not give it to me. This place is poorly ran and the techs are not experienced to do the work.. BEWARE!!! Tire below are lest then 8 months old and rim was scratched as well.. read more

BEWARE!!!!! This shop is owned/run by Manny who also runs one in Fontana, CA. Look at both reviews. GET AN OIL CHANGE AND YOUR CAR WILL LEAK OIL. Then , they will try to sell you an expensive fix. I brought my car in to get a valve gasket which was leaking but not bad enough to drip on my garage floor. While I was there I asked for an oil change. Remember, when I brought it in there was NO oil leaking on my garage floor it was just burning off oil off the engine. After the oil change when I came home I had oil in my car the next time I pulled it out a lot of oil. I took it back and they told me I had a timing cover gasket leak which was worse than the valve gasket leak why didn't you tell me that in the first place? Then they told me it cost $500 in labor to fix it. The reason they gave me was that because the gasket from the valve was fixed it was building up pressure and coming through the timing cover gasket. I called a retired friend mechanic of mine and he said that's highly unlikely. Then I started reading the reviews for both Midas Lake Forest and Midas Fontana both owned by Manny. Too many people complaining of the same issue. read more

They ordered the wrong part and kept my car overnight for the WEEKEND without any notice except for a phone call after waiting 4 hours thinking they were fixing my car. Took 3 weeks to get it "fixed" and my car works worse than before, it doesn't shift correctly, severely jerks every time I speed up, makes a weird noise buzzing noise. Going to a different mechanic, don't waste your time. They aren't responsive enough, but they are very nice. read more

Overpriced and rude customer service. I've gone here for over 4 years and I've never had a problem. I've gone through ALL my receipts for my past oil changes and I've never paid over $69 without coupons. I just paid $99 for oil change plus filter ($10 which I had to wait for to arrive). When I expressed to Manny I can't afford price in future I'd have to look elsewhere. He said "keys are in engine, have a good one" Rude and not good customer service. I bought an almost new car and the place I bought it from said there was nothing wrong with it. I heard a loud noise when I put on the brakes when backing up, car pulled to the right and I felt like the tires might be out of balance. I took it to midas lake forest. They found out the tires were out of balance and missing the brake hardware from the front right brake. They completely fixed it and the car is awesome now. The place I bought the car could have had a law suit if I listened to them. Idiots Thanks to the great team at midas lake forest for fixing my car. Brakes feel great now! I'm pretty perticular with my car and needed to find a place i can trust to work on a used Lexus CT hybrid i just got. Called around a few places which requires the Lexus hybrid to it to put into service mode for the service. I spoke with Daniel and he was very knowledgable and had the computer/tools to put my Lexus into service mode. Their prices were very resonable compared to the dealer and other OC shops and I went with a higher grade dot 4 instead of dot 3 fluid for a bit more. I waited for the service and they got me in and out quickly. Waiting area was clean and comfortable. Also brought my RX hybrid in the following week for oil/filter change, brake flush, and brake pads. Thank you again Daniel! read more

First time I came here was to get my tires changed and they did what I asked but got spot on my cloth passenger seat some how but I didn't hold it against them. Second time I came by was for an oil change but they were busy so I scheduled an appointment for the next morning and specifically asked questions to make sure i wouldn't run into the same problem.. Fast forward to the next morning and they say there's no appointment in my name plus they're still just as busy. I don't care if a business is busy and waiting but be an adult and communicate that to me. People are nice but from what I can tell they don't have the best system in place and are always taking more work than they can clearly handle. I had my car service for transmission fluid change and it turned out to be the worst decision to have it done at this place. I usually service my vehicle at Honda but not having secured an appointment earlier, i thought it will be wise to have it done here at Midas Lake Forest and get the car quickly. After several weeks, my car started jerking each time I start to accelerate. I had it checked at Honda to find out that the "fluid" change supposedly done by Midas has turned out to be soo dark and burnt. Had I not gone to Honda to check it right away, I was informed that could have damaged my transmission engine. Honda flushed the black fluid and replaced it with a new one and updated the software transmission. My car was running smoothly again. LESSON: NEVER NEVER TRUST this place for a "transmission fluid" change. They do not know what they are doing and it could have cost me a new transmission engine (about $5000)! read more

I would like to say how much I appreciated Marcos today at Midas. I came in with a dead battery. He was quick to test me right away and let me know the battery wasnt good. He noticed I had a newer car and asked me a few questions. Then he told me my warranty was still good on the battery, and I can go to the dealer and get a new one for free! I have never experienced such honest service. We have a whole fleet of vans that often need maintenance. It's nice to know we can take them to someone who we can trust. I got lost due to the pavement being redone in the The Hat's parking lot. I am not familiar with the area. Thinking that the parking lots were connected, I made a right into the Midas parking. Realizing that was not the case, I turned around. There are speed bumps in that lot. Also there wasn't one human or car in sight. Yet this employee that has the nose of the Mad Hatter, yelled at me telling me to slow down. Numerous times. I was not going fast at all. I don't appreciate that at all. I am not a current customer but could have been a future one. This event insures that I will never go to a Midas anywhere. read more
