The only reason im giving 1 star is because i have to. The employees are rude. They think that we cant hear them in the lobby, ive heard them disrespect me several customers in the garage. They over charge you. Ive heard them make several comments about them being the #1 store in the country in sales. Must be because they over charge you. Go to another midas and have an estimate written for the same thing and the price would be at least $150 cheaper. This midas is a rip off. read more

Go any where else. Had them replace front and bake breaks last winter. Did everything: calipers, pads, disks and even brake hoses on back. These guys are Dangerous! First time: kept my car over night without letting me know. Just kept it with no phone call. Did not properly set my parking break. Second time: front breaks squealing terribly, and emergency break still not set properly (I have a manual transmission) and my car starting rolling down an incline as I stepped out of the car. Third time: front breaks still not fixed had to put on new pads. Parking break barely catches. Had to adjust myself. 4th time: Driving on the freeway, hit my breaks and the back brakes don't work. Grinding metal on metal. Took back again and was told bad calipers that they had put on about 10 months earlier. Front breaks continue to squeal and be very loud. AND, they tried to tell me I needed other work done. As of today: font breaks still no better Back breaks work as they had to replace everything, but again did not set the parking break. When I started my car this morning to warm up, I walked into the house to finish getting ready. When I looked out the window, my car was gone. It had rolled into the street because I had NO parking break. Go anywhere else! read more

This is a very busy shop, I know I'm a repeat customer. They always treat you with respect. They have hot coffee and bottle of water available for free and the lobby is comfortable. They could be better about time management- they reason for not giving them a higher rating. That being said, they will always get my business because they make sure each customer is well taken care of read more

Worst place in powell to take your vehicle. Was constantly lied to on multiple occasions. One vehicle was damaged do to not properly lifting the vehicle on the lift points. Then took 6 months for them to fix that problem. Then to pay for two (sets) of tires that were defective, causing both cars to ride like crap. Then waiting forever to get those replaced just to get another two sets that were bad. After that Steve lied to my face about contacting a Cooper tire representative to fix the issue. Oh then I had to pay for the third set of tires for their negligence. Shady shady people running this place. read more

I hate that I have to write this review, but my recent experiences have left me no choice. We have taken our four automobiles to this specific location for several years now. Recently I had the brakes and rotors replaced and calipers cleaned on my 2013 Explorer. They were still squeaking a couple weeks later so I returned to be told he "hardware had slipped" and everything should be good. Nope. Still squeaking a couple more weeks later so I returned for a third time. After having my car all day, was told there was a "hot spot" in the pads and I should be good. Pulled out of the shop only to have an additional clunking noise on top of the still squeaking breaks. Frustrated, I took my car into my local dealership. They came out within minutes of taking my car back to ask if someone had recently worked on my brakes? Of course, I replied yes. They then told me that two of my caliper bolts were not put back on and the caliper frame was just floating around freely. They did not have the caliper bolts in stock so I had to sit there for six hours while they were delivered from a warehouse and paid $150 for them to put caliper bolts back. I went the next morning, in person, to Steve at Midas with my invoice from the dealership. It was frustrating because he did not want to admit that his people, after having my car three times, had not done the brakes properly and additionally left me with a huge safety liability by not putting my caliper bolts back in place. I told Steve that I came in to him "old-school" face to face so that we could discuss a resolution and I could be compensated for not only the original brakes I paid for, but now for the caliper bolts I had to pay the dealership to replace. Steve took a copy of the dealership invoice and told me he would get back with me. Exactly a week later I had not heard anything so I called Steve for an update. He quickly got off the phone and told me he would call and check on an update and call me back within a half an hour. Today officially marks another week that I have not heard from him. I took my son's Ford Fusion to Midas for an oil change over Thanksgiving 2017. They recommended numerous other repairs, which I authorized in good faith. After a few miles, we had to return the vehicle because they had installed a faulty part. The vehicle was driven home to our house near Washington, D.C., and found to be leaking transmission fluid in our driveway. Upon taking it to the repair shop here, the front axle was so loose that it could be wiggled by hand. Praise God my son was not killed driving this car. Midas agreed that they would pay the shop doing the repairs in DC for the original amount we paid at Midas. They kept our car in limbo at the repair shop here for three weeks awaiting payment, before we just had to pay the $700+ repair bill so we could have our car back. I have called Steve at Midas multiple times per week since November (just ask Verizon!). I constantly get the run around that they are crediting my charge card, but they never seem to get that done. They were finally supposed to issue me a check for the full cost of the original repair at the beginning of May. When I called this weekend, they hadn't yet written a check, but were going to do so. When I called Monday, they supposedly had stopped payment on the check and were crediting our account. After hounding them since November, they finally credited my account today for $242, over $330 less than agreed. I have been abundantly patient and pleasant, but I am tired of being taken for a fool. They "forgot" to do the oil change on my son's car that I was charged for, however, I let that go considering all of the other issues. I thought that they were a reputable shop and went out of my way to go there, but the work has been shoddy, and the business practices deplorable. Don't be fooled by the smiling faces at the front counter. They aren't the ones doing the work on your car, don't give you accurate estimates on when your repair will be done, don't follow up on the phone, and don't pay up when they owe you money. I thought their oil changes were a great deal, too, until November. read more

Unbelievably awful customer service. Do NOT bring your car here. Every time I go they try to up sell me on crap my car doesn't need. Whatever, but what really sealed the deal and made me get on here was this. My car had a pretty serious issue where I would hit the accelerator and it would just creep into traffic, then punch it about 5 seconds later. I brought it to Midas in Powell on a Sunday right after a near miss due to the issue. I asked if they had time to look at it, and if they didn't no problem I would make an appointment. It was about 11- they closed at 3. They said no problem, we'll call you once we take a look. I asked if I could stay, he said don't bother it will be a couple hours. I was studying anyway so I carried all my books down to Panera in 90+ degree weather. At 3:06 I realized they hadn't called me. So I called them. No answer. I figured they were probably working on my car but didn't want to answer since the shop was closed. So I called my husband. Had him come pick me up and drive me back to Midas. It was 3:15 and the place was a complete ghost town. No workers, doors locked, lights off, and my car sitting in the same parking spot, yet to be looked at. I was furious. No phone call from them. So we had to drive back home, find my spare key, go back and get my car so I could go to school and work Monday. I went back on Monday to get my keys at noon. They had no idea who I was, and didn't ask why my keys were just sitting behind their desk, or why I was picking them up. I just can't believe the lack of respect and horrible customer service. I will never go to any Midas ever again and am telling everyone I know not to go there. read more

Excellent service, excellent staff... Wish they were around long time ago...would not have wasted money on brand services.

Have worked with them over the years and had good service. Had a recent issue and they worked very hard to resolve and make us happy.

Worst auto service ever. I had to take my 4Runner to the Tansky Toyota to fix the damage they did, and pay another $300

TERRIBLE! Do NOT go here! This place didn't properly close Oil Filter after oil change, causing oil leak. To make matters worse, the store manager Steve gave me the run around, dodging my calls - I asked for Midas to refund me for original oil change plus the repair charges from my trusted mechanic who thankfully fixed the oil leak. read more

Horrible service. Go anywhere else. Walked in yesterday. told it was an hour and fifteen minute wait. couldnt wait that long so they suggested a 9am appointment the mext day. Made the appointment and showed up. They had 4 appts at 9. My car was still sitting there at 10am. I asked why and they told me it would be at least another half hour before they could take it back. I asked when I arrived how long it would take. They said an hour and a half and now Matt told me he meant that would be how long before they could start. What's the point of an appointment if you don't use them? read more

I bring my car, even brought my own oil and filter with me, in for an oil change. Easy enough, yeah? No. It was visibly leaking oil around the filter when I left. Went back at 635, and they 'didn't have time to look'...even though they close at 7. It's because they sent all the techs home. 2 other guys couldn't have cared less...not sure if they were managers or what. I call the next day to see what they can do, and they want to charge me 50 DOLLARS to put a 'special dye' in the oil to see where the leak is coming from. You'd have to be blind to not see it leaking at the filter. I've worked on cars for 15+ years, and I've changed this cars oil countless times over the past 9 years, without issue. I'm far from ignorant when it comes to vehicles. The ONLY reason I took it somewhere this time is because I was working out of town. This place is a joke. Run far away. read more

It all started out with my Fusion. I needed a door handle put on. I went to this Midas because it was convenient. Then put the door handle on, it took me 3 times in going back to get repaired correctly. Then I took the car in to get front struts put on. The car was returned making more front end noise then when I brought it in. The alignment was also screw up. Brought it back twice to get it fixed right. Never was. Then I brought my sons car in to get an oil change. They said that they found a leak in the top gasket. Told them to repair it. They did, My son was in a shopping mall, came out to an oil slick out side his car. Had the car towed to the dealership. They said the top valve gasket was repaired incorrectly. They repaired it for $190 dollars less then Midas. Went to Midas to get back my money. THEY FLAT OUT REFUSED. Told my credit card company to with hold funds. They wrote my credit card company and said for me to sue them, because I had signed paper work allowing them to work on my car. I look at the paper work, seen my signature. The signature did not look like mine, and I cant remember signing anything. Then asked to speak to a customer service rep. Call him up. Left a message never heard back from him. Email Midas about my problem. Never heard back from them. WARNING: Bring you car to a REAL AUTO REPAIR. Dont be taken in with MIDAS. I will never go back to them!!!!! read more

My car was leaking a little bit of oil, so i went to Midas in Powell because i have brought several of my cars there before. I let them know what was going on and i also asked for a "Midas courtesy check" which the manager said they would do. Soon he asked for my keys and said my car would be in shortly, which it was. When my car was pulled in, the workers opened the hood, and lifted it in the air. I thought they would check things out and check my fluids and so forth like a good shop would but they just walked away. After watching my car for 15 minutes with no one at all working on it or checking it out, i got a little upset. 5 minutes later the so-called manager walks up and tells me i need to spend $50.00 so they can put a dye in my oil so they can see where it is leaking from. The manager insisted i paid the 50 bucks because he said the leak was very bad and tried to set up another time for me to come in. I told him that my oil level is fine and the leak is small but he thought otherwise. This was the biggest waste of 20 minutes in my life and i was a loyal customer now i am not and would not recommend this place. I had way better service at the Goodyear across sawmill road. Plus they didn't even shut my hood all the way i had to pull over and re-shut it, figures mechanics would know how to shut a hood of a car. read more
