Getting my Kia Sorento EX serviced with a synthetic blend oil change and transmission fluid change. Quick service to do both. They actually did all the recheck stuff; check my lights and turn signals, refilled my washer fluid, filled my tires to 35 psi. That doesn't always happen. The guys in the service bay were really nice and courteous. The oil change was 10 minutes and the transmission fluid exchange as 20 minutes (because they had to pull out my battery to access the transmission fluid). They let me know what they were doing all along the way. I had a $20 off coupon from Valvoline so I used it. $75.99 for the oil change and $164.99 for the transmission fluid replacement less my $20 coupon. read more

Pulled in to get an oil change (Powell) and at the last second of pulling in the guy with a long beard waving me in screamed "TURN YOUR WHEEL JESUS CHRIST" even though I feel like he didn't start signaling that until he was literally screaming at me....? Then he walked away saying "Jesus Christ" and other words under his breath. I had been taking my Honda to the dealership for maintenance but it seemed like every time I went for an oil change there was always something else I need to have done. Tom and the staff did an excellent job. Tom explained everything in detail. I was able to see all the work they did as I sat comfortably in my car. They had a camera above and below the car. He explained any of theirs the car had. They showed me the dirty air filter, they kept me very well informed every step of the oil change. They did a thorough and excellent job. You can sit in your car for most of the services; they ask you get out for a tire rotation. You can view the monitor and see what is going under your hood and underneath your car. Their definition of instant is loosely understood... I basically pulled right in and it took over a half hour. It was also more expensive than it normally is at other Valvoline's. My "view" screen which also shows the time wasn't working so I couldn't see them below nor the actual time by their calc. After she was done checking someone else in, she finally came back over and I was good. I was sitting there for probably 10 minutes where no one did anything to my car. It was 34 minutes from check in until I left, for a simple oil change. I won't ever be going to this shop again. *Post comment edit: I did want to add everyone was very friendly. I really like going to different Valvoline locations and seeing what kind of service I'll get at each one. Today after deploying some money into the bank and getting something to eat, I decided to stop putting of my oil change and getting it done. I'm glad that I did. The gentlemen here were such a treat. I learned that the oil requirements in my car now allowed me to now choose another oil and learned some new things about my car. I also learned that I was due for a new filter and I was not told that at the previous location and I was definitely due when I was there looking at the condition of the filter. I really appreciated that. My guy even carried on funny conversation with me and I enjoyed talking to him. I was in and out in no time and my car was back to normal. I had a fabolous experience today at the Powell location. The best customer service I've ever had and I am referring 2 friends to this location. I actually thought I was overdue for my oil change but the fabolous worker was so honest with me and explained to me that my sticker that I had for my mileage that was put on my car from my last oil change was incorrect ,after checking on computer per manufacturer it's recommended to put 5,000 more miles on my car and then I can come back for my oil change They still made sure they checked all my fluids and tire pressure. Also, topped my oil off with a quart of oil. All of this was done for free and it made my day!!! Thanks for your outstanding customer service!!! read more

Great oil change and reminder of several other maintenance needs and fixed other concerns including tire pressure. It's such a great spot for the go-go-go society we live in today. I have only been here for an oil change and one time to have my windshield wipers replaced. I have taken my car here many times before & Everyone is always so kind and helpful at this location, and I never have an issue with my car after I leave here. This location has never made a mistake with my car and my husbands car, (literally) & I highly recommend this place because my husband had an awful experience at Midas, what was supposed to be a simple oil change there almost had his car explode and could of killed him and one of our best friends that was with him at the time. His car smoked pretty bad and when he took it back they said, " Dang your engine was close to exploding, someone forgot to put your cap back on. " Not only can Midas not do a simple oil change, but they can't seem to fix other issues with a car due to some of our other experiences there. DO NOT take your vehicle to Valvoline in Powell, Ohio. They failed to install the oil filter properly, and less than 1000 miles later the oil leaked from the filter and blew the engine. Two of their techs came to inspect the vehicle and admitted it was due to the oil filter. Now, they are saying it wasn't their fault and won't accept responsibility for their error. 2/25/20 Update: Numerous mechanics all feel it is Valvoline's fault. Valvoline is denying the claim. Valvoline Instant Oil Change is here to stay and carry my car and me through Winter 2013. But boy was the operation hard to spot. The automotive store is located on the "alleyway" behind the storefronts of Greek Express, Wendy's and Arby's all near the Wedgewood brand stores and golf club. The VALVOLINE sign caught my eye as I drove by and, given I was looking for an auto place, I did a 180 degree turn and pulled in. First impression? Clean, spotless... all good things about an oil change and auto store. Accomplishing that isn't easy so management is on top of their presentation. Staff? Personable and as the series of questions about my 165,000 mile car carried on (important questions), I grew to like the worker(s). And no overselling? Just questions like, "How are your windshield wipers holding up? It's not January yet and you might want to think about keeping a clean windshield." The fact I had a torn wiper blade put me in line for a new pair and installation - and they're great. The entire cost of a high-grade Valvoline synthetic oil (5 qts), service, wipers and installation ran $100. Afterwards the staff and I spoke about changing belts on my engine (they do it). Overall, I can't think of a nicer, more professional group of staffers at an oil change "first" place. My other dealer in Upper Arlington sold out and his store is now gone. Called ahead and asked if they could rotate the tires on my Pilot, said they could. After they changed my oil they let me know the could not rotate my tires but graciously would not charge me for it. Unbelievable... read more

Have had the past 4 oil changes at the Powell Ohio location and the last visit this past January the tech advised he was having problems getting the plug out to change the oil. Asked if we had the last oil change there I responded yes and then crickets ..... Needless to say they stopped and said they could not get the plug out and to go to somewhere to have the car serviced. Was then told that "if we broke it we will pay for it." We went home, parked in the driveway the next morning there was puddles of oil in the driveway. We immediately took the car to a BMW certified mechanic shop and they said that the oil pan , plug and oil filter was broken. We filed a claim with Valvoline and they claimed responsibility for the oil filter being broke but not the $3100 oil pan. The shop that fixed my car said that they get at least 3 claims a month from the Powell Valvoline location. DO NOT GO THERE read more

Very good experience - recommended Since a couple of days ago I posted a very negative review for the Valvoline Station on Sawmill Rd. in Dublin, I thought it's only fair to post a positive experience as well. I took our second car to Valvoline on West Powell Rd. and what a difference. In and out in less than 15 minutes. Friendly service, no forgotten tools in the engine compartment and all lids properly closed.Sorry for these references the aforementioned negative review but that bad experience almost made me avoid Valvoline all together. But now my faith in instant oil change places is restored - we will see what happens in 7,500 miles when I have to do it all over again. read more

Everyone in the shop was very courteous and friendly. Including a transmission fluid change, brake light replacement, and oil change, I was in and out within 20 minutes. Sat in the line for 30 minutes before being pulled into the bay and once in the bay i sat for 35 minutes before oil was even put in my car. They were servicing everyone in line by filling up their tires with air instead of just servicing the people in the bay and letting us get on our way. An hour and 15 minutes of my life i will never get back and it was supposed to be a 15 minute oil change. Absolutely ridiculous. Nobody apologized for the delay and nobody made any effort to fix the problem. read more

I am a huge fan of drive through oil changes as opposed to going to the dealer and paying twice as much. I just moved to Powell, and chose Valvoline because it was close to home. The manager of the store was the one who worked on my car, and long story short he broke my oil pan, and still let me drive away. A week later I returned when my oil low light appeared again, they topped it off, and assured me again it wasn't leaking. A week later I ended up at the dealer with $1000 worth of damage to my car from a cheap oil change. They fired the manager, and reimbursed me, but never again will I visit a drive through oil change! read more

These people are the worst of the worst twice now they suckered my wife into getting a unneeded $65 oil change. It takes conventional oil but they convinced her to buy the synthetic oil. Beware if you are a female they are trained to rip you off. My suggestion is just avoid it all together. read more
