I have purchased tires from Grismer and have had two cars serviced with them. Always have been pleased with the service.

I will never take my car anywhere else. Took it in for an oil change. He pointed out I needed new tires ( I do need new tires). He could have done an"upsell" but he didn't. He based his recommendation on my driving history and usage, Kelly gave me a cost range, explained the differences and left the choice up to me. They do "take care of their customers". I know zero about tires,but, after his explanation I could see for myself why the old had to go. Had a flat tire repair done on a truck tire. They got me in very quick and did a repair from the inside (no plugs), which will last as long as the tire. Nice to have this business close by. Will consider them for next round of tires (hopefully a long ways out). read more

Have been going Grismer since living in Dayton and always found them to be honest and reliable.

I personally do not trust the employees here. About 18 months ago I bought four new tires here as well as getting new rotors and pads - had a special where they "threw in" four free oil changes. Each time I went in for my oil change, the guy at the service desk informed me of something that was wrong with my car; an axle was going to break, a gasket needed replaced, etc. I declined each time and on a whim took my car to a mechanic I know. He told me that everything was fine and those items mentioned at Grismer weren't an issue. In addition, today I needed new rotors again, which seems awfully soon...thought they lasted longer than 18 months. However, the capper for me was when my mother in law took her 2017 vehicle in for some minor work. They told her she needed four new tires - the vehicle has 5000 miles on it...no way she needed new tires! Needless to say, I will be taking my vehicle elsewhere for my brakes and other service. read more

Do not use Grismer. Especially do not buy the hazard warranty. I bought the hazard warranty and got a nail in my tire. I was told that brand was no longer available. Only option was to buy a new set of tires. Unacceptable to not do the right thing by the customer. Will never use this company again. Grismer does not back up their commitments. While I'd rather not have car repairs, at least we've got this place to do the ones we need. David has always been very transparent and helpful when we need work on our cars. Today we had the oil changed in two of our cars. Headed over to Tim Hortons while we waited and David came over and told us the cars were done. We headed black to Grismer and when he came back into the shop, he delivered a muffin and drink to someone who had been there awhile and appeared to be having a rough day. Outstanding company to deal with. Manager at this store is a dedicated partner of Grismer Tire. John and Charles, owners of Grismer are two of the most honest, hardworking partners I have seen in the tire, transportation field. Their retail store are required to meet their standards and if the customer has a issue, they make it right. The scheduling, timeliness and quality of work is great. Terrible customer service. 3 months ago got an oil change and it leaked oil ever since. Went back yesterday to get another oil change and told them about the leak. They told me there was a hole in the filter and a rock could have caused the hole. Yeah ok. I asked if I was going to be charged and the guy gave me a hard time. A free oil change is not a big deal to keep a customer happy. Also was told it would be 30-45 minutes so I decided to stay and wait. An hour later the guy "changing" my oil was just standing around. I went and complained and was told they had to go down the street to get my filter because they didn't have my type. Well they could have informed me of the delay. So a 30 minute oil change took an an hour thirty minutes with shitty customer service. Arrogant is the best way to describe the "cashier". Will never return read more

Hacks. Kept going back for warranty tire rotations and oil changes. always a two trip process- once for the work, once for them to fix what they fucked up. Stripped bolt heads, cross-threaded oil plug, and this LAST time they broke the hub caps by over tightening, which had been broke/glued on by the hack before. Always good service from this crew. They are very helpful and are receptive to personal requests. They explain everything to you if you have questions about your car's issue. I've never had any issues with them in all the years my family has been a customer. The only complaint I have is the price, which is expensive but I don't know how it compares to other shops. read more

Started out with a "noise" my daughter heard. Thought it might be brakes. Of course brakes "needed"... replaced ($992.00)....PLUS some bearing on the front are needing fixed. OK! So take it back and repair/replace front wheel bearing assembly. They call and want to diagnose something else and tell me ABS module needs replaced. "Hold off on that for now" ($540.00) OK, all good right?...NOOOO! We take it back and Frasier rides with us to help diagnose noise. 30 seconds into it he's got it figured out. Back right wheel is bent. "Are you sure it isn't the axle?" "No it's the wheel! Fast forward I buy new wheels on ebay and take them over to change them out. Get a call. It's a bent axle! "Can you give me a break on the cost?" $100.00 off, about the cost of changing out tires/wheels. Thanks for nothing. Lost a customer today fellas. read more

The service techs do a nice job. Courteous and professional. Inexpensive oil changes and tire rotations. And they provide additional information on other service issues (battery charge low, tires may need replacing in 5k miles, etc.) without the "hard sell" from dealer maintenance shops. read more

Had vehicle repaired at auto service center Grismer. Was not updated on car repair for multiple days - car was in auto shop for 4 days. Found additional items that where unnecessarily repaired. Job was not completed or finished when vehicle was returned. Had to finish job ourselves. When discussed with store manager Trevor he did not take accountability for poor service. Slight sounds coming from my car, nothing terrible or urgent. Called and made an appointment. Got there and they said they had no appointment in the computer and even seemed annoyed with us. Took a *quick* look and told us it needed over $1,000 in repairs...huh? Since it didn't seem urgent, we got a second opinion and low and behold! Everything checked out just fine. read more

Nobody knew what was wrong with my car, so I had to leave it overnight so Grismer could run tests. They called me with an update the next day I do think they're expensive, however I've never been to any other car shop before. They estimated $300 for a replacement ECT... not sure if it's reasonable or not but sounds pricey for a sensor Anyway they're very polite and helpful. The only other complaint I have is that nobody seems to be in a rush. Service can be kind of slow and you may be waiting for a while. Everything seemed great, friendly staff, clean, new place. My car was towed there after an accident and I needed two new tires, alignment, etc. They had my car over 10 days as they had to wait for insurance check. That was not a problem as I had a rental car. However, the way the car drove and sounded when I picked it up, was! I took it back that week and explained my concerns. No apology, no sense of concern, suddenly the vibe was completely different! The one guy even told me he was trying to save me money by advising me to take it back to where I'd had the breaks fixed a year before when I said it felt like my front breaks were grinding! Well, I dropped it back off after arguing with them that the insurance company had left the claim open in case they discovered additional damage. (They were trying to blame State Farm, saying they only approved certain work) Anyhow, a borrowed car and a week or so later, they called to say that State Farm approved the additional $400+ work for a new strut (car was pulling to the left!) HOWEVER, they needed me to leave work and come and unlock the car, because one of their guys locked the keys in it!! When I called back to say I couldn't leave work and they'd have to send someone to pick up the spare key, they stated that the work would only take a few hours, but Polaris mall was too far and no one could come!! Another few days before I would get my car bavk and it's still loud and making all kinds of weird sounds and driving poorly. The turn signal no longer turns off by itself, etc. I want to take it back again, but I know they will just treat me like I'm crazy! I do have to go back and get a receipt for the additional work, as they said they couldn't give me one until they received the check from State Farm and that they would let me know when they did. That was a week ago!! This has been going on since Aug 21st and it's September 25th!! Car repairs are never fun to deal with in the first place, but my experience with Grismer made it worse!! Three weeks ago, I dropped off my car for an oil change and tire rotation. I marked the wheels so that I could tell if the tires were rotated. Needless to say, they were not. I spoke with Travis who said they should have been rotated. Since they weren't I could bring it back at a time that was convenient for me for them to do the tire rotation. Frustrated, so I took it to Goodyear, which I where I bought the tires and thus received a free rotation. Now, this past Saturday, I dropped off another car for an oil change and tire rotation. Again, they said they rotated the tires, but they did not. In addition though, this time, they also gave my car back with no oil in it. Again, I have been asked to bring it back, so they can correct the problem. Extremely frustrated, I asked to speak with a manager "higher up the ladder" as well as asked for my money back. I was told no in both cases. I would suggest never trusting Grismer Tire and Auto Service, in Powell, OH for your auto care needs. read more

I have been a Grismer customer for many years now, but can no longer trust in their quality of service. I took my 2008 Nissan Rogue in for an oil change and inspection as my heat had stopped working the week prior. I was told initially that it was likely an issue with my coolant levels. Hours later I get a call from a Grismer sales guy telling me that my radiator was cracked/leaking and needed repaired, that one of my hoses was in bad shape and needed replaced, and that my link pins were broken. All of this came as a surprise as I had zero issues with my engine overheating and had not noticed my car leaning particularly hard when turning. Going with my better judgement, I got a second opinion as to the cause of the issue. The gentleman who looked at my car showed me that my coolant was flowing normally, at perfectly normal levels, and had me touch one of the pipes coming from my radiator- it was ice cold, when it apparently should have been extremely hot. It turns out the thermostats in my car were going bad and not signaling my heating system correctly. My radiator and hoses are all in fine condition, and while the rubber bits on my link pins are pretty worn and should eventually be replaced, they were in no way broken and in need of immediate repair. The cost to replace the thermostats was less than half of what Grismer quoted me to replace the radiator, hose, etc. I am FURIOUS that a shop I have trusted for years would out right LIE to me about repairs, especially considering what they recommended would not have fixed my problem to begin with and likely would have led to them finding "further issues" and driving up the costs coming out of MY POCKET. How many of my repairs with you people over the last 2-3 years were actual problems? How dare you take advantage of your customers like this. I will never bring my car back to your garage, and you can bet your life that I will steer everyone I know away from your business going forward. You are thieves and liars of the worst kind. read more
