Manager at the store is very impatient and rude, the manager humiliated me and treated me awfully, arguing with me that I've been scheduled to 1:00pm instead of 11:00pm , this is after he rescheduled me when I showed up a day earlier and on top of that he screamed at me when everyone is watching, very unprofessional and very disappointing, he gave me the keys back, and spoke to me like a sheet. I would not accept such a behavior and will never serve my cars there again. Steven, the owner, if you read my message make sure to fire this manager before you would loose more customers. read more

I've used Midas Muffler for auto maintenance for nearly three years. I initially used the Clark Road location (where the level of service was outstanding) for a variety of service - brake replacement, oil change, etc. I began using the 12th Street location a year ago after relocating downtown. When I first visited the 12th Street store, I noticed immediately that it lacked the cleanliness and customer service orientation which I had experienced at the Clark Road store, but nonetheless had them replace my auto's spark plugs and perform a radiator flush and transmission fluid replacement. Today I returned to the 12th Street location for an oil change. The good news is that they completed the work thirteen - yes, thirteen - minutes after I first walked in. Assuming four to five minutes for John, the store manager, to write up the order (before the vehicle was pulled into the service bay), that leaves eight to nine minutes of actual shop labor. The bad news is that in performing the work so quickly they made mistakes. Far worse though was the manner in which the manager responded to my concerns. After returning to my car I noticed that one of my metal valve stem covers had been replaced with a plastic one (they supposedly check tire inflation during the service procedure), and in a non-confrontational, non-accusatory manner pointed it out to the manager. He brusquely stated that the car was exactly as it was when I brought it in (how he knew that is a mystery, given that he didn't observe the servicing of my vehicle). When I suggested that we speak with the service technician who worked on my car, the manager replied in a rude manner that we could not, that I had been given credit for the Midas on-line coupon that I had presented (interesting that he referred to the coupon when I never mentioned it), that I had received excellent service, and implied that I should leave the premises. I strongly suspect he was displeased that I had used a coupon. I later noticed that the Midas standard vehicle inspection form indicated several "suggested" items needing attention (the engine air filter, worn belts, deteriorated brake fluid, and degraded struts) which the manager never mentioned during check out. Instead, he glanced at the form and said that, "Everything else [other than the engine oil] looked ok." Ironically, had he mentioned the items prior to transitioning to rudeness, I likely would have had them perform some or all of the needed additional work. I've contacted Midas' national customer service department. I'm not sure how they will respond, but in any case I will not be returning to the 12th Street Midas location. read more

This is a place to stay away from.Went in for an all-over checkup and wound up with a brake job costing well over $1,000.Since I have a low milage Prius my Virginia State Safety Inspector had a few choice words to say about Companies taking advantage of the elderly. read more

Twice I made an appointment on line, as I have done in the past. Then they call you to verify your appointment. No one bother to reach out to me, even as I sit here at Tire Kingdom on University, I have not heard a word. It's been up and down with this Midas over the years, I have been in Sarasota since 1984 and I think that Midas was already there. They are hit and miss. read more

I always dread getting my oil changed. I searched reviews and came across Midas on 12th and Washington. I decided to try it out and hoped it would go well. I knew I would also be needing new brake pads. I called Saturday to make an appointment and was immediately impressed by the friendliness of the man who answered the phone. I was given an appointment that day. I arrived and was quickly helped. They looked at my car and informed me I would need new brake pads and to recondition the rotor. They told it to me straight and didn't jerk me around. I got a good deal because they were running a brake pad special. I was out of there in an hour and a half. I even went back today (Monday) to have the cabin air filter put in since mine needed replacing. They asked me to come back so they could take care of it. I am so impressed by the staff and the work they did for me. I will definitely come back here knowing I can trust them. They remember their customers' names and it felt very family friendly. Unfortunately, as a young woman, it is always difficult to find auto service places I can trust but I had no problem at this Midas! Thank you to Bill and everyone else there. read more

I have had great experiences at this Midas. I highly recommend Shawn and his team for any repairs. He is fair, reasonable and persistent. Honestly I can't say enough good things about this shop. There are superior local mechanics, and although this is a large chain, this is one of the best local shops you will find. read more

i took my car in end of may. engine had a ticking noise. they said it was timing chain and it would be 1500. i came back a week later and they said that it was not timing chain and that i needed a new engine instead. i was upset and said you misdiagnosed it and i want to get another estimate. jose the owner was there and said i would have to pay for the work they did regarding timing chain or i could get engine with them. so they quoted me verbally 3300 for an engine with 80k miles on it. i said that is high..so then they said if i pay 200.00 more they can get an engine with 50k miles on it. so i approved it...they told me i would have 12 mos/12k mile warranty. so when i picked it up june 7, 2018 i asked for warranty. sean said they don't offer written warranties. i said i want a written warranty. i went home and checked receipt and the mileage on engine was actually 59863 not 50k. also the warranty is by midas and it says 3,000 miles or 90 days. on june 8 i called back and left a message. no return call i called again 30 min later and spoke with sean. he said he would have to speak with jose about the warranty. he also said the mileage was going to be 50,000-something...not 50k.he said he would talk with jose. today june 11... i called and spoke with sean. he said we don't offer written warranties. i asked him why that was a problem.he got mad and said "you/ve got the warranty on reciept and thats as far as i am going to go with this" and hung up on me. (the warranty on the receipt is from midas corporate..3,000 miles or 90 days is not what they promised. update Response from Midas is a joke. They never sent me a private message like they said below. They don't care. read more
