I really like Tires Plus but this is an extremely predatory location. My wife took her car in to have her brakes done, the car came back with a scraping noise that was not there before we took it to Tires Plus. She took it back to have this fixed, and they "found" that her axel was damaged and needed to be replaced. Why didn't they find that the first time it was in the shop? So they did a bad brake job, charged labor to fix their bad job, and then in the process found something else that they were able to charge us to "fix." Bad business all around. read more

This Tires Plus used to have excellent customer service, good value and trust worthy. The previous Manager Corey kept things running smooth. Corey retired few years ago (good for him) but the front desk "manager" who I believe is Jimmy Jr, has no customer service skills, does not pick up the phone or book time slots correctly. It does not matter whether you have an apppointment or drop in, expect to wait hours even if told a different time. I've been recommending them for years, but this is another case of poor customer service leaving customer's looking to go somewhere else. read more

Only used Tires Plus on University for many years and bought high end tires. Low pressure in all four. Stopped for help. They filled with sir. Next appt in 7 days, so I scheduled. The next day pressure down to 20 psi again. Same thing, no time to look and put more air in. Went to another company. All four tires had nails. Two got fixed and two new ones put on. Not only poor customer service but dangerous to let drive on these type of tires. This business needs help! read more

I took it to Firestone and they charged me another $2100 to fix everything that tires plus messed up on my car. When I first brought my car in they never even called me back for 2 days. Went in for a routine oil change. I usually got to Tire Kingdom but they forgot to process my scheduled day for an oil change so I went to Tires Plus. Boy I regret that so much. I dropped my car off for an oil change Oct. 19th and got it back, turned the car on, the engine was louder than usual and I thought nothing of it because when I take my car in for an oil change I expect them to do it right. Ten days later my engine starts overheating. I open the hood after calling my friend who knows a little about cars. Both caps to my coolant and my power steering fluids were off, and my oil dip stick handle was broken off... I called Tires plus and they had told me to put coolant in and power steering fluid and that would fix the overheating issue, so I did that, made sure it was the exact type of fluids my car could handle and went about my schedule driving to work, dropping kids off to school and school pick up for a month or so and it happened again. I did not have any issues before taking it to this place. So I called them back and they swear they checked all the fluids and topped off just the wiper fluid and changed the oil. Didn't do a routine inspection, which normally Tire Kingdom does without asking them to. I guess Tires Plus doesn't do that, what am I paying them for then? Any way, so I'm on the phone and they tell me to keep checking the fluid levels, so I top off the coolant and just watch it drain out very slowly and I'm keep an eye on it now knowing it's leaking and I let the shop know it's leaking out somewhere, now it two months later. I've been driving it, and go pick my kids up and head home and my car starts over heating again and then just gives out, steering wheel locks and my car just stops driving. I could still turn it on but wasn't able to drive it anywhere. So I had it towed to a Mazda dealer who told me my engine was shot due to a leaking water pump and oil leak and coolant leak that all got into my engine. Tires Plus will not accept liability.. would not offer any help as to how to resolve the engine failure. read more

I'm not terribly happy with Tire Plus University. . On 3/14 I took my car in for a routine oil change and chose the better synthetic oil. price was reasonable IMO at around $84. They got my Ford escape with 83,000 miles right in, and it was ready very quickly. the gentleman who checked me in and out was very nice. My next stop after the weekend was to go to my mechanic who has been in the field for more than 30 years. he's reliable and honest. i had some sort of 02 sensor or vapor issue in the fuel line and check engine light was on. he diagnosed it and replaced the part, called when it was finished, but informed me that my oil was 2 quarts down, and in good conscience could never let it drive out of there without putting 2 quarts ( i'm assuming regular oil) in, which he charged me for, of course. i feel very lucky that i had this appt as i know how an engine can sieze up if driving it with almost half the oil gone, or more . he's an experienced mechanic and i trust him. immediately after, I drove to Tires Plus with both receipts and told the employee what happened. it's obvious that if i had a big leak, I'd know since my car is garaged and would certainly would have noticed a puddle. . what i think happened is that their mechanic got distracted, and as a result shorted me 2 quarts synthetic oil. what really upsets me is that the service rep said to me that he couldn't compensate me for the 2 quarts because he had no proof. Basically he is saying he didn't believe me. this really made me feel uncomfortable. A simple " I am so sorry, let me make this right for you!" goes a long long way in good good customer service . its such an uncomfortable feeling to not be believed. . i told him that his proof was that he had my word, my mechanics word, and my mechanic's receipt showing that he added the 2 quarts just a few days after my oil change appointment . the service rep said that that siezing up would not actually ever happen as cars always have more oil in it than it shows us. really?? honestly, i believe a 60 year old seasoned mechanic explaining the dangers of low oil levels more than the Tire Plus guy at the desk. my mechanic said that this low an oil level was not safe. finally after much talk the guy said he'd input into his computer a future 2 quart discount on my next oil change. i walked out with "no receipt or proof" stating this future discount. I DID ask him for one, but he stated that it will be in the computer. . GOODNESS! i don't even want to go back there if im not really trusting the services. anyway, i'm happy to screen shoot the receipts if anyone higher up in this company needs to see it. . but since im a " man of my word". i hope you believe me. sorry so long. i won't be recommending this particular independently owned Tire Plus place. i just like to feel valued and believed, and i like to feel i can trust them in the future, but don't believe i can. . . thanks for reading this. . read more

I made the mistake by going to tire kingdom, for an oil change, while in the parking lot I checked the oil for the second time and second TK long story. it looked low to me I'm not a mechanic .... I went to tires plus the next plaza over and explained my situation to Kasey who was more than happy to take a look sure enough I was a half quart low he said not a problem added the half a quart at no cost to me. I was on a road trip to Sarasota, over 120 miles from home, and road debris punctured my run-flat tires on a Sunday night. The tow home was $800, and I knew a new tire would cost a couple hundred dollars. I decided to take my chances on the tire route to save money, and I'm so glad I did. Avoid like the plague We ordered 2 complete sets of tires tires for 2 cars from Tire Rack and had them delivered to Tires Plus - a "certified installer for Tire Rack". I took my car to Tires Plus about three weeks ago for general service. I specifically ask they check the tires and brakes and change the oil, filter and ask they advise if anything else needed to be done for the 75,000 service. I was told the brakes were fine but the two rear tires were getting bad. A week later, I hear a brake dragging. I took it back in and was told that my brake pads, calipers and rotors were all bad and was quoted a price of $1,400 and they would have it ready by noon. They called and said the calipers they ordered were wrong and that they had to airfreight new ones from Dallas and the cost was $218 more and would take another day. I accepted the price increase. They called me at noon the next day and said the car was ready and the total cost was $1500. When I went to pick it up, the bill was over $2,200!!! They said the total price they quoted did not include the tires, balancing and alighnment. I was told the alignment would be free because of the fact I had the car in only two weeks before. When I questioned the bill, the owner, Jimmy was very rude and unprofessional. I was lied to and Jimmy would not listen to my concerns. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. read more

I went to Tires Plus on University with an issue. They said it would cost so much to fix. I go in two days later, pay, and leave. As I'm driving away I noticed that the issue was not fixed. I actually had to pull over. I called the store nine times to speak with someone, and they just let my call ring until I heard an automated voice say "Please enter your access code." Two days later I called again (they were closed on Sunday). This time, someone picked up the phone and put me on hold without saying a word. I waited, on hold, for 15 minutes before I contacted their corporate office. After a month of me contacting corporate, and getting no response, I'm told that that store has an independent owner and they cannot do anything. This wasn't the first time I had an issue with them, but I gave them a second chance. It was their last. read more

I went in and was quoted a pretty high price and was questioning why. They said they where giving me high quality brakes. I'm moving up North where there's going to be a good amount of snow so I bought in. They put the brakes in my car and when I went to pick it up it was a horrible. There was brake dust all over my rims and when I left they weren't any better. They acted like bad brakes again. I went in the next day questioning why they where not acting right and they where like oh let us take a look. All they did was barley clean the brakes and say these are high quality and fine. I didn't believe them so I took my car to Reese Auto Shop and they looked over the car kept it for a day and called me the next morning telling me something I don't want to hear. They said Tires Plus put on the cheapest brakes you can find. THE CHEAPEST ONES!!!! I payed for high quality good brakes and got scammed. Now I have to go replace my brakes since there awful. Do not come here there a bunch of liars looking to over charge people for poor quality. How awful and rude. Will people telling everyone to avoid this place. read more

The staff at Tires plus are nice and seem helpful, but thats where it stops. I have a 1980 Corvette, they mounted and balanced (or so I thought) my wheels and tires. They put so much weight on the inside of the rims, it was hitting my brake rotors! After 2 attempts, the weights were still hitting the rotors, and one side eventually knocked the weights off. I made an appointment to have the issue corrected, waited 45min just to get the car in. When they were done, could still hear the weights clicking on the rotors; took a road trip and had a horrible vibration at highway speeds. Took the car to Lanning tire, to discover it had 7 & 9 oz of weight on the rear wheels!! The wheels were Road Force Balanced, and ended up with only 1 oz of weight on the rear wheels to balance them..and the car is smooth as silk at 80 mph! If you don't have the right equipment to do the job right, just be up front & honest, and send me somewhere that does! I will respect that! Also, my son bought his first car earlier in 2017 and was taken advantage of by a small used car business and his car completely broke down in less than 4 months. He was looking at another vehicle from same business as a replacement and brought this vehicle in to Tires Plus for evaluation Tires Plus mechanic took the time to completely look over the vehicle and we are so thankful he did! Husband came here to correct some errors made by a hitch install. Quoted two hours of labor but when it was time to pay, it was 3 hours plus. Paid it thinking okay, being off on time for re-wiring can happen even to the best mechanics. Now it was a few days before the holiday and lots of other things going on, so didn't think to drive the car around to test back lights and etc. Two days after "the fix", we drive out to visit family, and prior to arriving, stop at a gas station. We happen to need something out of the trunk, so we go around the back to find a loose wire hanging out from under the back end of the car. WTF??? We are 2 hours away from home, nothing is open and there is no turning back now. To avoid having the hanging wire from dragging on the floor and sparking (causing a fire) , we had to fold upwards and punch it with the trunk door of the car, UGH!!! We will be back to have you fix this mess at no charge!!!!!! UPDATE: took it back in and was told that wires were from the old install of the hitch. They removed the non-needed wire and we drove the car home. So far so good but the "non- needed" wires should have been removed prior to us leaving their facility. Used the University Tires Plus a couple months ago. I've used tires plus primarily for all my tires, rotations, and oil changes. They've always done great work. However, the last visit entailed a job to fix an overheating issue in my car (175,000+ miles). Originally was told I needed a new (expensive) radiator and it would take half a day. Two times of my car being "ready to pick up", 3 different issues, and a week of my car in the shop later... Car finally is working. So I'm glad they fixed the issue, and I'm not complaining about the cost, but the week without my car cost me a few hundred dollars in Ubers and lost clients. I would've rented a car but I kept getting told my car was going to be ready soon. The employees were a pleasure to deal with and I'll continue to use them for oil changes and tires. Beyond that I'll be using the Honda dealership. (3 weeks after leaving tires plus my check engine light came on and that's exactly what I did.) read more

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!!!!! I took my 4-runner in on Wednesday to get the front and back brakes changed; but then I receive a call about 3 hours later with a $1,400 quote! They said i needed to change the rotors on both the front and back; they said my serpentine belt was "ready to snap at any moment"; they said my valve covers were "leaking like a siv." I am no mechanic but I check my oil weekly and knew that was a lie. I called another place to get a quote on all these repairs and they said that Tires Plus was about $290 too high. So i took my truck to the other shop and as it turns out, only the rotors on the front needed to be replaced, NOT the back; my serp belt was cracking slightly and could go for a few more months, so I went ahead and replaced it; they laughed at the fact that Tires Plus told me how bad my valve gaskets were leaking and said nothing needed to be done. After the repairs that actually needed to be done, I only paid $441!!! Tires Plus almost got me....especially when they brought their mechanic in to try to sell me harder on these bogus repairs....pretty cheesy and very unethical. Too bad; I bought my tires from them a few months ago and they ALMOST had a customer for life until they tried to pull this on me. Also wouldn't have been a problem if they had confirmed my first two attempts to schedule ahead online like the site said they would. And finally I specifically asked them to top off my brake fluid (and even offered to pay extra) and...they didn't. What a disappointing experience.
