I wanted to share a positive personal experience we had with the Midas in Solon, Ohio. We had been there a couple of times to fix our Honda Civic in the past 6-9 months. The first time my muffler went out and they were able to get me in and help the very day after it happened. Several months later, as I started my car and began to drive to work, it began making funny noises. I didn't even call, just drove straight to Midas. No appointment, but they were understanding and willing to take a look at it while I left and went to work for the day. Again, they were able to fix it by the end of the next day (there was a leak in the power steering). Both fixes were minimal, painless, and very reasonably priced. They were quick, kind, and knowledgeable. As if this wasn't enough to make me want to come back...fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. On my way to work, my car (a manual), suddenly would not go into gear as I tried to shift. I coasted into a parking lot, called roadside assistance, and again made a call to Midas explaining my situation. My biggest fear was confirmed just under an hour after the car was towed to Midas...the clutch had given up and would need to be replaced. This was a 2007 Honda Civic with the original clutch (yes...Hondas are wonderful and the original clutch lasted 13 years!). Because the cost was going to be about what the car was worth even with a working clutch, we needed some time to think about our options. We had been debating getting a new car for some time so that thought came into play. Midas didn't have to be kind and give us time to think. They could have said, "not our problem, have your car towed somewhere else, we don't want it here." Instead, Kyle at Midas WAS kind and did give us the time we needed to make the best decision for us. I kept in contact each day to let him know what we were thinking our plans would be and each time he said, "it's okay, just let us know what you end up deciding." In the end we did end up getting a new vehicle and sold the Civic to a company that would come and tow it away. When we went to clean it out and spoke to Kyle once more his exact words were, "we are in the business, not just to make money, but to make sure that each customer is doing the best and right thing for them at the time. We support you as our customer and if this was the best thing for you then we are happy we were able to help in making that decision a little easier with not having to worry about what to do with the Civic in the mean time." Bottom line: Kyle and the team in Solon Ohio truly care about their customers. And as much as we don't necessarily want to see them often because that would mean something is wrong with one of our vehicles, you can guarantee that if something does happen, Midas in Solon will be our very first call/visit to figure out what is going on. over the past year, Midas has attempted to fix my heating and cooling in my car and every other month I had to take my car back for the same issue spending over $4000 for heating and cooling issues.I gave them 970 and then one week later my car broke down again with the same heating and cooling issues and they wanted to charge me another $900 insane I feel like they make other issues so you gotta comeback read more

I live in Cincinnati but visit my grandparents in Solon often, anytime my car needs work I go here. They take the time to thoroughly explain to me what is wrong with my car, and actually show me when they are able to. They have been nothing but understanding when I have tried to figure out how I can pay for my car repairs, and help me make an informed decision about my car. They have even offered me Dunkin coffee after I cried about how much I would need to spend on repairs haha. I cannot say enough positives about the Solon Midas shop. They not only replaced my exhaust system, which I thought was mostly what they do, but they did so much more! My long time repair shop refused to work on it - and lucky for me, Jesse and his crew and the Manager of the Solon Midas shop took it on. They spent a lot of time and effort to find the sub-frame and the many pieces and parts that were needed to fix my 2020 Toyota Celica. They did a terrific job and I can't thank them enough for their thorough and conscienscious work. I am thrilled to have my car back, safe to drive for many years because of them. I have a used Challenger which has obviously had a hard previous life. I took it in expecting a huge bill. Their diagnosis was completely different to what I feared, they found several other issues, rectified them all. Car is transformed, and the total bill is much less that I originally expected. Took my Camaro here for to service my break pads. I received a call the next morning that my car had been in an accident. Basically, Midas' mechanics "test drove" my V8 in the snow, on the highway, lost control, and veered off the road. As you can imagine, I came to the shop pretty pissed. While inquiring about the situation, a young, hot-headed mechanic threatened me with physical violence for raising my voice. The manager, Jesse, was professional as he intervened to help resolve the conflict. Jesse offered me a free oil change and apologized for his co-workers actions. I went through their insurance company and in the meantime I was stuck without a car for a little over a month. Horrific experience. read more

My 2018 Subaru Legacy was there for an oil change. They took me right away as I had an appt. Everything went well except about 2 months later my car was dripping oil due to Midas not putting the oil cap where you actually add the oil back on, so the oil was blowing all over my motor and started dripping down. I do most of my own repairs but occasionally need a little help. Over the past 4-5 years I've come to this location a couple times. Always a pleasure. I originally wrote a book for this review. looked at it and thought, no one wants my life story! Long and short, I took my very nice 30+ year old S-class up for some exhaust work, with worry (no offense guys!), and ended up getting a beautiful job on the old gal, far nicer than I expected, at a fair price. I love this shop. They are always friendly but also straight forward. They explain what's going on with my vehicle every time. I'm someone who brings their car in whenever I have a concern, even if it's relatively minor, and on a couple occasions the issue has been minor enough to fix later or was a false alarm-- they don't charge for the time it took to inspect the problem. I'm a woman and I have never been taken advantage of, being pressured, or that I was assumed to have little knowledge of my car. The only complaint I have is they're so popular, especially on weekends. If I just need a quick oil change or a tire repair or something I sometimes go somewhere else because it can take some time to get an appointment. (But they always are honest and accurate with how long it will take!) read more

We had gone to the dealership to get our oil changed, and they recommended to get our brakes changed. Due to our tight schedule, however, we couldn't get our brakes done that day - and I'm glad we didn't! We were able to get scheduled at Midas right away soon after, and Midas told us after seeing our car that the brakes weren't in bad condition and it probably wasn't necessary to do them yet. Went in to get a code for a check engine light. When I pulled up at 5 (They close at 6) there were three techs standing around and one working. The clerk told me there was no one available to check my light today. I sat in my car for 10 minutes trying to find the next closest shop. The three techs never went back to work..... read more

Reasonable prices, honest opinion, excellent customer service.

I had a number of issues with my car this winter, exhaust, tire balance, wheel alignment problems, etc. I randomly selected Midas after receiving several 700+ dollars estimates from other shops. To my surprise, I ended up paying a lot less than I was initially expecting. Overall, I have to say I'm very pleased with my repair. (Yay, my car no longer sounds like a motorcycle lol) On top of that the staff was great and very thorough in explaining my repairs.Thank you Midas, I will be patronizing your business in the future!!! read more
