I no longer use Geico but I still trust this shop because of their honesty and transparency. The management here cares about its customers. ------------------------------------------- I had damage to my headlight mount and took my car here as part of an insurance claim. I would have never gotten this repair done because the estimate from Geico (that I provided the shop) was 1147, for something I would have just ducked taped had I not thought I would only be on the hook for my $500 deductible. I send the shop my estimate from Geico, they tell me they'll work with Geico if anything doesn't add up correctly. The part turns out to be on back order and arrives 3 weeks later, I take my car in, a few hours later I pick my car up with a bill for $1930. By this time, Geico had already sent me a check based on their estimate. Geico says the shop over charged me on both parts and labor. The part should have been just over $1000 but the shop charged me $1461, and labor in the area averages $65/hour but this shop charges $145/hour. Geico is refusing to do anything about it and the shop, as of now, is going with "these are our rates, we are a business, blah blah." Shame on me for not doing my homework. I trusted this shop as I had brought my car here many times for regular maintenance but I was clearly gouged and very disappointed with my experience.

The overfill also damaged/broke an oil sensor according to my Honda dealer. Because of this situation, I had to cancel an entire week of appointments and meetings due to no vehicle. I will also have to be paying nearly $500 to fix the sensor and redo the oil change. They also never completed the air pressure nor showed me the oil dipstick. Don't go here for a trailer hitch. It took two trips because they forgot to order the hitch, then…read moresaid they'd give it to me for dealer cost. When I paid, it was $20 higher than the quote, and they hadn't added in the tax. The total bill at "dealer cost" was the UHaul price. The install without electrical took almost 3 hours; it makes me wonder if they just took it to UHaul. It wasn't a complicated job and I should have just gone to UHaul myself; it was closer to home and the total experience would have been less time. Lesson learned. UPDATE: I called John P. about his reply. When I made the original appointment Ryan wrote down one number of the VIN wrong. We corrected it the next day, but he forgot to give the correct VIN to whomever ordered parts. He was pleasant and fully admitted his mistake and offered me to do the work at the dealership cost. While I was really frustrated about a second trip, I liked how Ryan was a stand-up guy and owned the mistake and made amends, so I went back. John hadn't investigated any of this but I did like that he mentioned they took off the exhaust because the car was louder than normal. John turned me over to Deano and he offered to send a runner to my house to pick up the car and look at it. That solved my two issues; driving distance and time. They dropped the car back off a couple of hours later and it was back to it's normal sound level. Deano called and said they found the heat shield bolts in the front of the car were rusted and coming apart. They wired it up the best they could. I'm guessing either by putting the car on the lift or messing with the exhaust was all it needed to loosen the heat shields. Kudos to Ryan and Deano. I still feel this was a high end shop doing a simple job; it looks like they do a lot of body and electrical work. Felt like I was going to a plastic surgeon to have my nails painted.
