Since new ownership I DO NOT recommend this business any longer. Took my car in because it had a small oil leak after waiting 2 hours was told that supposedly several lines were leaking (power steering lines ect) and that I needed to replace my rack and pinion...bill totalling $2200. Obviously this didn't seem right to me for a simple oil leak and zero issues driving my vehicle. I took my vehicle to a different mechanic who verified previous check from Midas and disagreed highly with their diagnosis. The new mechanic actually fixed the issue for my oil leak and visually explained how incorrect the previous assessment was...I also was only charged $6. HUGE difference. Screw this place and the lazy ass mgr. charged me for an alignment that they didn't do. charged me to plug in the computer for check engine light that I already told them what the reading will be. I sat there from 1 pm until 5 pm when the mechanic told Bill that they have the wrong Tie Rods for my car. They then had the correct ones delivered and I was gone by 5:55. Dropped car off on Saturday morning (towed in) at 2:30am. Wrote car up for service and dropped write up and keys in mail slot. Saturday morning called at 9:15am to explain what service I was in need of and was informed they were already on it. My car was already in a bay. I gave them permission to service my vehicle at their set quote and they finished performing the job by 3:00pm Saturday afternoon. Highly recommended this Midas location. The customer service was not the best. It was very nice for them to waive my inspection fee, but they had me waiting for 3 to 4 hours just to get my car checked. I totally understand things can get busy, but don't lie about the time you can get to me. Second, two times I went inside to check on the wait time within a two hour period, No one would greet me or ask me how can I help you, I had to say excuse me like eight times just to get someone attention when they were in the back. Unprofessional, a business is supposed to greet you when you walk in and ask you how can I help you? They did not do that. It does not hurt to say I will be with you momentarily or in a moment. Additionally, their front desk is sometimes empty and it's unfortunate because a business is supposed to know when someone standing in the lobby waiting. You'll show up to a bunch of people standing around, the manager saying they're under staffed and they can't fit you in even though you made the appointment days in advance. I called Midas at 8:30 in the morning to bring in a flat tire that needed to be patched. Guy told me on the phone that it would be not problem bring it up on in and we will have it back to you in the afternoon. Waited til about 2:30 because they close at 4:00 and he said haven't gotten to it yet closer to 3:30 looking about. Went there at 3:30 and nothing was down, tire was still flat. This place is a joke! The guy at the front desk couldn't care less what he is doing. Just tells people what they want to hear. Worst service ever. Better yet the kid from Midas that filled air in the tire (had to ask) goes ohh there's a nail in the thread. Like are you kidding me. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. My son went in here positive he needed brakes and after a good checkup they called up to come pick it up. It did not need brakes and they didn't even charge us for checking! Run away! I took my car there on December 23 because the door latch was frozen/broken which meant it wouldn't stay latched to the door striker. They told me they'd take a look at it that day and call me. While they had it I asked if they would replace the old wiper blades as they were ripped and do an oil change. No one called me the weekend and the holiday came. So I called again on Monday I was told it was taking a long time to get the part in from the dealer because my car was older. My car is a 2006. So I understood. No one called me the rest of that week New Year's Day came and went. I called again on January 2nd and was told the part still hadn't arrived. I didn't get my car back until January 4th 12 days from the date I originally dropped it off. I've never ever had to leave my car 12 days for a repair. Bob told me since I've been so patient and they had my car so long he wouldn't charge me for the wiper blades the oil change and the tire rotation was included with the oil change. I thank them very much and was pretty happy about it. Finally after 12 days they called me to tell me my car was ready I picked it up just before they closed and went home. The next day it rained I used my wipers and the old blades were still on there. I called and told them they forgot to change the blades and I would be up that night to get them. 3 days later my low oil sensor went off on my car which was strange. I checked the dipstick it was dry. I had to add 2 qt of oil. I then checked my driveway the street my parking lot at work to see if maybe my car had leaked oil somewhere to account for those Missing 2 qt. Couldn't find any oil leak. And I kept checking the dipstick and it was maintaining a normal level now. After these huge issues I checked my tires to see if they had been rotated and not one of them had. If I could leave a review with no stars I would I would definitely not recommend this place or any Midas ever again read more

I desperately needed brakes for my 2016 Ford Focus. I contacted my favorite dealership but they stated they would not be able to get me in for over a MONTH! I contacted Midas in St Clair Shores and spoke with Kristen who understood how uncomfortable I felt driving with failing brakes and fit me in that day! Wait... it gets better!!! Upon entering the store for my appt, everyone in the store was happy, positively interacting & were all greatly satisfied with the work performed on their vehicles! One customer actually re asked if the amount charged was correct because she thought it was too inexpensive! Now... the best part... my car was worked on by the manager, Katlyn Myles (I know the name because I was so impressed, I had to grab a card)!!! She inspected my car, explained what needed to be done and checked if I wanted to proceed. Again, ANOTHER pleasant interaction! You could just feel she she could fix anything! I never leave reviews, especially bad ones at that. My first experience at this location was perfect. I was a walk in customer to have my exhaust replaced. Luckily they had one right on hand and I was then given a quote with an exact breakdown of pricing and an estimated wait time. My second visit was to replace my rotors and breaks. This time I called 5 days ahead and informed them I needed my rotors and brakes replaced on my 2012 Ford Escape. We scheduled an appointment for 11am - 11/5/2022. Upon my arrival everything seemed to be fine, they checked the car and only gave me a final price. There was no breakdown in pricing or estimated wait time. I have now been sitting here 3.5/4 hours because they ordered the parts that morning and ended up ordering the incorrect brakes. My car hasn't seem to be touched in 2/3 hours and I have been given no update. At this point I could've walked the 3 miles home if I knew I would be wasting my Saturday. Furthermore, I actually brought my own brakes but was told Midas has a life time warranty. I sure do regret that at this point, since I will not be returning. Don't schedule appointments if they don't take priority and you don't have the parts.... read more

This place is a walk from my house, so after reading the Yelp reviews, I decided to stop by after my brakes were making that wonderful grinding noise we all love to hear. Bob was very friendly over the phone, offered me a few appointment times to bring my car in, and was just as friendly in person. The price of the brakes and rotors was perfectly fair, I've had service on them done before with previous cars and I recall it being a much bigger dent in the wallet. I left overall satisfied. Fast forward about 8 months, and my car was pulsating terribly, one of my rotors was worn, most likely due to my daily commute on 696 and 75. I took it back to Midas, and I was absolutely delighted to hear that there was a lifetime warranty on the pads, and 1 year on the rotors. I got everything replaced for $0, and Bob was once again helpful as ever. Also, after getting a flat tire, they repaired it for $10, and I didn't get told about 100 non existent problems like when you head over to Discount Tire. Head here if you want honest pricing, friendly service, and honest mechanics. They won't waste your time with endless "problems" with your car, they will fix your issues, offer helpful advice, and send you on your way. They have a customer for life. read more

We brought both our cars to this shop, one to have it's winter tires swapped on, which we already had owned, and the other to have the tires rotated and balanced. The first car came back with a broken TPS sensor, of which was working fine before hand. The other car came back with a broken hub bolt, and a broken TPS. I'm new to the area and had a flat tire. I stopped by and they were extremely helpful and accommodating. They took my car in and gave me a ride home. I forgot to put the lug nuts into the trunk so they drove to my home to pick them up. The pricing was extremely fair and the service was fast. I had this awful sound coming from under my car when I started it. They showed me the problem and gave me options. To replace or weld. Both came with warranties lifetime versus one year. This was an unexpected expense so it was nice to have a more affordable option. Was in and out in about a hour. Would definitely go here for all my other services.
