Employees are drinking on the job and possibly drunk too. I was in the liquor store "liquor locker" across the parking lot from Midas and some employees still dressed in uniform, walk in and buy 99 proof shots. I then watched them head right back into the shop. I had noise coming from the brakes that continued when not braking, clearly calipers. I mentioned this when initially dropping off. They claimed a full brake inspection was done amd only rotars and pads needed replacing. Got the SUV back, and the noise started back up a couple days later. I took it back and suggested again it was the caliper. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Justin was condescending and dismissive of my concerns.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He then replaced only the brake pad and said I could have the calipers replaced if I "felt like spending $700 for no reason". So, I went with his fix again. The next day, the sound came back AGAIN. I took it to the Midas in Modesto and they not only said the calipers needed replacing, but all the brand new brake pads Turlock had installed were "low quality" and not "Midas Standards". They replaced the pads and resurfaced the rotars for free as it was under warranty. The calipers were $100 cheaper than Turlock quoted as well. I will never return to the Turlock store. I brought my car in for an oil change and to get new brakes. After the work I was told I needed a new front tire and a new hose of some sort. They tell me they'll have to order the part and to come back Saturday. The car no longer started Friday evening and they requested to tow the vehicle to them, luckily for me my neighbor is a certified mechanic. He offered to take a look at it. I soon brought the car to his house and it was obvious to him that the new hose I "needed" was never attached properly back from Midas. I went in for an AC charge because mine wasn't blowing cold air. I was told i needed a new AC compressor. With parts and labor would be around 1400.00 and that might not fix the problem. Only available day to have it done was almost a week later. The next day i went to my local auto parts store and bought a diy Can. Watched 2 videos and decided to see for myself. At frist i thought i wasted 70 on the diy can and they were right about the compressor. Just as i was about to give up compressor kicked on. Turns out the compressor won't come on at all if its low on ac coolent. Once it gets above so many pounds of pressure its signaled to turn on. Been blowing cold air ever since. read more

Brought my vehicle in to see why my wheels were rubbing. They told me I needed a leveling kit and it will fix rubbing issue GURANTEED. Showed me the exact one for my truck so I ordered and came back for them to fix. Unfortunately $500 later now my truck is in worse condition, tearing up my front bumper and under the truck constantly rattles with every bump. Took truck back to have looked at, their response was "oh yeah I see what you're talking about" but are trying to charge me again for re doing it and also would need another alignment. Took my Truck in for the second tiime here for breaks. 1st time, my fronts were done Anne needed a new front end. Expensive for my taste but very much needed. Jason was the guy who helped me out and made this less painful. 2nd time was today when I heated grinding in my breaks, mind you it was only 6 months aince my new front end. When I don't have the time to work on my own cars, I come to Midas. Mom and pop shops are great, but they're slow and time is my whole case and point. So yeah, I like Midas. My BIG gripe and why I'm not coming back... So my car has an extended warranty, and extended warranty companies require very specific conditions to be met. I needed a lower control replaced on my Nissan Quest and my warranty company will only cover OEM replacements parts. Due to their cost margin on OEM parts being considerably less than it would be with an aftermarket equivalent, Midas decided to side step me and my warranty company with what would be best for Midas. I got a song and dance about how the "warranty said they will only cover this" and "I need to make money". Look, bud... I didn't didn't set your margins, you did. maybe you need a better relationship with your parts vendor, I don't know. What I do know is you lied to my face to make an extra $108 bucks. What Midas told me versus what my warranty company told me were two completely different stories. You would have still made money, cheaters. You complicated a situation to make an extra $108. Midas on Geer Rd is by far the best place in town for an oil change. Usually no more than $30 for a synthetic oil blend, you can make an appt if needed or come In the morning and they get you in and out. Justin the manager has top notch customer service skills and they are never pushy with their recommendations. I've been taking my truck here for several years and have no complaints. Had a water pump go out, needed my truck for work the next day and they stayed late and showed up early to make sure it was ready for me in time. It was slow but he could have moved with a purpose. -Sam, the one behind the desk, was eating while attending me. Then I asked if the sensors for air pressure had been re computed. Don't go here! On Sat, 8 Feb my daughter was driving to Sacramento from Fresno. She stopped in Turlock to grab food and her car overheated. AAA towed her car to this Midas and arrived at 4:15 pm. They refused to even look at her car because they were closing at 5:00! Instead they worked on an employees car and drank beer. After they had closed and were hanging out in the parking lot smoking and drinking more beer, they decided to come over and tell her what they thought was wrong AFTER THEY REFUSED TO HELP HER! Great customer service, but, unfortunately, that's where it ends. Workmanship is issue number 1: I needed the regulators for power windows replaced. Although, the regulator installation went without issue, the Midas tech improperly reassembled the door and left the power lock on driver side, barely functional. You also cannot even unlock the door with the key! You would think professionals would have noticed that?! Cost of parts is problem 2: The regulators were marked up over 80% beyond retail! Although I don't mind paying full retail for OEM parts, an 80% markup is simply outrageous! Finally, when I brought my vehicle back to have sloppy workmanship corrected, Midas told me the power lock actuator had failed and I needed to spend another $400 or so to repair it. And the actuator is actually fine. Since you cannot even unlock the vehicle with the key, it's fairly obvious the door was improperly reassembled. I will NEVER go back to Midas. I do not need shotty workmanship, price gouging and the BS and lies they used in an attempt cover-up their sub-standard repair. read more

These guys are awesome!!! They have worked on both our Subaru and Mercedes and have been through and extremely honest. They have refunded us money when work was not able to be done. They have checked our cars free of charge several times. Everyone has been friendly and more helpful than any place in Turlock. And they are honest and fix every problem efficiently!
