I found J&L Auto and my son had the car towed to them. He said they were courteous and knowledgeable. The radiator, thermostat and other things needed were repaired. He even changed the oil and explained to my son why it is so important to be changed on a regular basis. I can't attest to long term reliability as I have not had the right data to accurately determine. Honestly, the car I bought was for my son and an "old starter car". But they were kind, low on Cost, and accurate in their diagnosis of the problems. I was very appreciative of their customer service and mechanical service. Hats off to the person answering phones and helping with pricing. She was just as important as the solid mechanical work. She looked at pricing, conferred with the mechanic and maintained great communication.

Then came the insult: they quoted me over $1,000 for a key fob that anyone can buy for $159 and program for a couple hundred more. In my opinion, that's predatory and insulting to a senior customer. He walked me out to my vehicle to show me that (huzzah!) my tires were only half-worn and didn't need replacing yet. (Had I strolled into another local tire place, I probably would have gotten the old, "Oh wow. You've been driving on these for how long? They must be changed immediately!"-routine.) But not Russ and his crew. The one suggestion the owner made was a tire rotation, which I took him up on. Service was speedy and the staff was very customer-friendly.
