We settled on this practice because of location (it's next to the grocery store) and recommendations. In conversation during our first visits we discovered several commonalities in earlier life. One person's spouse went to the some high school we did; another person went to the same university I did; and a few other things. The service is very good. I had to have some work done on an upper molar - this was the first time in my memory where there was almost no pain associated with getting the anesthetic injection. Wonderful. The hygienist Rae (?), was AMAZING. She was super friendly. She took a full set of x-rays since I was a new patient and then gave me a pair of sunglasses to put on before she started my cleaning. They had numerous flavor options for the polishing paste. I was offered cherry, vanilla, mint and cookie dough. She checked on my comfort numerous times while she was working and was very thorough. There is a large flat-screen TV hanging high in front of the chair so you can watch TV while they work on your teeth. Once she completed the cleaning, Dr. Thackenkary came in to do the final examination. He did a complete oral cancer screen and checked the condition of my jaw, teeth and bite. He also explained about the pH of my saliva and how it helped to prevent cavities, which was interesting. He did not try to "sell" me anything else, like tooth whitening. Every other dentist I've been to has always tried to get me to pay for something else. Dr. Thackenkary advised me to come back in 6 months for my next routine visit and gave me a goodie bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and mouthwash. Neither Dr. Thackenkary or Rae were condescending or rude. I've been to some dentists who get a bit nasty when they are telling you about your teeth and if there is any plaque or anything. Not these two! Rae just explained how to better floss my bottom molars to help prevent buildup in the future. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my visit. Friendly staff and straightforward dental care. I highly recommend others visit Opal Ridge Dental for their dental needs. You'll be pleased.

I have a long history of dental care and I've spent many hours in a dentist chair since childhood, but I'm no longer apprehensive about coming for my visits since I've been coming here. I definitely recommend this practice if you are looking for a family run dentistry that knows what they're doing, and that cultivates a nice atmosphere.

All the procedures I was told I needed performed, NOW, leaving me feeling overwhelmed, the shock hadn't even wore off yet. Having an abscess my check had swelled, I had had a low grade fever and had chills previously as a result of the infection and was concerned for my health. Upon meeting Dr. Snyder, his manner and approach had a positive effect melting away my fears, I was able to start relaxing and could breathe again and felt hopeful! I found out too that I did not need everything performed as I had been previously told I did, and there was NO pressure. Dr. Snyder wrote out a prescription for me too, to address the infection. I am now feeling like me again, healthy and not going to die of sepsis. Upon my next appointment, I had a Maintenance cleaning. The dental hygienist Star was kind, capable and reassuring to me regarding my fear of dental work. I also had the best dental cleaning at F.P.A. I was amazed at how beautiful my teeth looked and felt. This has been the first day that I can honestly say I feel no longer overwhelmed. This office was the quickest to contact me and in place of the old veneer, I had a crown made and the two week wait was worth it! I am now sporting a nice looking set of teeth although the crown is in the front. I am also deaf myself and the staff is very accommodating. Came back for a dental cleaning although I have my regular dentist. This is now my go-to. The dentist is also nice and professional!
