I came to this place by a coincidence. This place has a small to go or self service dine in to eat on top of the grocery store. I got the gyro and chicken biryani to go and it was decent size for the price. I also got a few small samosa and their other desserts of which are tasty. Overall the grocery side has decent selections. I got a box of their mangoes. Those mangoes are great tasting, sweet and juicy. I got their pink guavas and also their mango lassi drink. They were busy in the evening when I went here.

This is my go-to Desi store. I love that there's a butcher who can give me some curry cut or Desi barbeque cut chicken. They say they are halal certified for whom that matters. They have a cafeteria and snack section. Fridays special is 9.99 biryani, which as far as biryanis go is pretty average biryani but great value for money in terms of portion. Having said that, I don't much care for the goat biryani - maybe it's the cuts of meat or the cooking time but the end product goat can be tough and chewy at times. The prices are reasonable for produce , 99 cents for curry leaves which I buy fresh and store in my freezer, and frozen stuff like tindora or okra. The snacks like banana chips are a bit on the expensive side, 3.49 for a small bag of banana chips. They have a broad variety of brand name masalas and spices - ground, whole and blends. All in all this is a pretty good one stop shop for your Desi staple needs.

    Their hours must have changed.

Nope.. I used to come here pretty often. However a few seconds ago I was told the Cafe closes at 7:30 it was 7:33.. Their sign says they close at 8:00. The woman behind the counter actually asked me if I'd been helped. Then told me they were closed.. It's too bad because the food is great.

Basing this just on the cafe in the back...The vegetable samosas are delicious, and cheap. Had that typical light spiciness to add a little interest. Load up as many as you want from the self-help tray. The wife's falafel gyro was similarly quite good. Falafel are fried up while you wait, so they were hot and fresh. My goat haleem was decent. A bit bland for my tastes, but squeezing the included lemons into it punched it up a bit. It was not spicy, which is how I prefer my food, but you have the option of adding diced jalapenos if you lik.

Shout out to the Mid East Market (off Manchester Rd in the boardwalk plaza) for some of the best Chicken Biryani I have had since I moved here from the Northeast!!! Not only is their food great (gyros are lit ) they have a huge variety of things to shop from I am so pleased with some native Stlouians recommendations to get the chkn biryani from this market (I am always 1000% skeptical of recommendations from native MO ppl) but this was really good food. Best to order ahead of time so they don't run out :-) Happy eating * I love the people who work her their good attitude and friendliness really make the shopping experience. To the owner if you see this thank you for being so amazing and thank you for being within our community.

I was craving a Gyro and this place came up on yelp. When I entered the store I looked around for where to order food. the guy at the register was busy yakking on the phone. We made eye contact but that was about it. Found the place in the back. The guys were cleaning up but stopped to take my order. The cook who took my order was very friendly but... once I got the base Gyro (beef) he asked me what I wanted on it. I asked for lite Tzatziki Sauce - got a glob. Asked for lite onions - got a handful. Asked for lite cilantro and he covered the whole thing. He told me to pay at the front. i took the order up, the guy was still on the phone. He waited on a few customers before me. Asked me what I got, told him, he said the price ($6.50). I handed him a $10, he gave me change an no receipt. I never saw a receipt handed to any customer. Interesting. About the only thing I can say about this place is "I have been there."

Years later this is still my favorite place for Pakistani/Indian food. Just wished it were closer to St. Louis. The Boti roll and kabob roll were both delicious and a meal on their own, very filling. The biriyani is soo flavorful, a standard I use to compare biriyani from other restaurants. Also, who can say no to free chai? You can add as much or as little sugar as you please. Seriously, please move closer to stl.

Good for groceries, food place is not that great. Too dry, sometimes bland...pretty much below average.

In addition to the huge market area inside, there is a bubble tea stand, hot food with seating, and some skincare products across the front wall. The market itself is kind of amazing. There was an extensive selection of fresh Asian fruits, vegetables and herbs at great prices. Once we got into the aisles, there was, again, a huge selection - some of our favorite things were all the bottled sodas/coffees, the mochis and all the vinegars/sauces. In the back there is fish area that has live crabs, lobsters and even eels in addition to fresh fish. There is also a halal meat counter. We saw packages of frozen scallops, frozen crab legs and ground lamb that we plan to come back and try. I can't wait to return.

Were back baby!…read more Happy to be updating my review with a solid 5 stars! I live close to Wally's so I do come here pretty often. Since my last review in 2023 I've been here no less than 50 times since then (figuring on at least 2 per month) and at least get some sort of hot food snack each time. For starters, there have been some changes with the pizza. My favorite now is simply the cheese. I know it seems plain, but its flavor is really really good, and it considerably less greasy then the pepperoni. This is especially important when trying to eat a slice in the car. My second fav is the 3 meat which offers a better balance of flavors than the overloaded pepperoni. As much as I love pepperoni, Wally's just puts too many on IMO. However, NONE of these can beat the Garlic cheese bread pizza which they only do once a month. Its truly phenomenal. There have been some updates to the other food offerings as well. Since my last review they have added hot Pretzels, Chicken tenders, smash burgers, and "soft" tacos to the menu. I can confidently state that the Tacos are my fav of the new items. The burger has potential but like most other things you have to get them when they are fresh. A burger that has been sitting in foil in a warmer for the last 2 hours just isn't going to be as good as a "fresh" one. The Tacos on the other hand seem to hold up better, and I actually could argue that they get BETTER if they have been on the warmer for a bit. They are more uniformly heated and the raw onions are softer because of it. I've had them both freshly prepared, and from the hot case and the hot case was actually better. The pretzels are good, but nothing to get too excited about and the tenders are pretty plain (pre-frozen and deep fried) as well. I actually have the habit of dipping them in the nacho cheese and it makes a world of difference. The breakfast tacos are still my absolute favorite go-to quick breakfast and the Smores and chocolate chunk cookies always tickle the sweet tooth perfectly.

This gas station is enormous and seriously has something for everyone in tow. Even our grumpy pre teen found something that he enjoyed here and when leaving admitted it was cool and glad we stopped! If you haven't tried the pizza here, definitely consider it as they have by the slice and whole pizza options and the pizzas are HUGE! We left with a 3 meat one and had to break it down to get it to fit in our fridge at home. Staff is extra friendly and ready to help, and the place is nice n clean and plenty of restrooms too ;)
