We've been a few times now. Food is good, great place for kids (and grownups) to watch planes. But they are perpetually understaffed so it's very disorganized and hectic, especially on busy days and leads to servers and owner being rude. Still worth a visit though. read more

It has been a while since I updated this review so here is the new one. Midfield Cafe is a nice little breakfast and lunch place at the Nashua Airport. You walk up to the second floor and you can look out at the airport. Since Daniel Webster's aviation program closed, the airport is on the quiet side now. There is indoor and outdoor seating (summer only). This is a great place to bring the kids or meet old friends for a meal. You see lots of families and groups of retirees. Sandy owns the restaurant and all of us locals know her by name. She runs a tight 'ship' with a number of young men and women servers. You will often catch her scolding one of them for not doing things the right way. The restaurant attracts mainly locals with a few people who flew into Nashua. Occasionally a tourist or two will discover it. It is more likely that a local will bring out-of-state visitors to the cafe. The food is similar to 'diner food' in a way. For breakfast they have omelets, eggs fixed your way, etc. They also have a number of aviation-themed dishes and specials board. Lunch is similar in concept to breakfast. Overall the food is good and it has gotten better in the last few years. It's definitely worth going for breakfast or lunch. read more

Be careful or you just might miss it. This place is great. The pictures on yelp helped us to find it. We were vacationing in Nashua and we're looking for a breakfast spot. Found this place on yelp and it did not disappoint. We went twice for breakfast. The Eggs Benedict's are great. Great choices and you can do two different options. The biscuits and gravy were wonderful as well. And I cannot forget the potatoes, they were amazing. Seriously if you haven't tried this place you need to. This is probably my favorite cafe at a drives distance from my place in Boston. First things first, it has amazing view as it is right on the runway of a small airport. The cafe I understand can be hard to find if you're not coming in from the Tarmac. Situated midfield (hence the name), just look for the second floor outdoor seating area with umbrellas. Both of my visits were great! Not only for the plane watching, but also for the food. THIS PLACE WAS AWESOMEEEEE we had the peanut butter chocolate chip French toast, croissant berry french toast, pineapple pancake, and the classic eggs, bacon, toast, homefries and hash brown. Lemme tell you it was amaze. Sandy was our fab server and Sarah was the food runner and they were both the best. This is my new favorite breakfast place ever. What a gem! It's located right on the Nashua runway (i don't know the actual precise name of the airport) and you can watch the airplanes and helicopters landing and taking off. There's plenty of outdoor seating and window seats inside too. Aside from how cool that is, the food is AMAZING. One of the best pancakes I've ever eaten! The Greek scrambler was soooo delish. Everything was really yummy and usually I'm very underwhelmed with breakfast foods. We will definitely be back. Staff was friendly and quick, they are obviously busy but friendly non the less. The experience of being near the planes was awesome which our son loved and the eggs Benedict were really good but the hash browns were way over cooked for both me and my husband, way too hard and inedible. The young girls working there were nice but the owner talks rude to them which didn't sit well with me. Please treat your employees with respect. They are working hard plus they are still young and learning, there is no excuse to be mean to them the way you were, from other reviews this is obviously not the first time so maybe you need anger management? Anyway get some help for this! If I I had a teen working there I would be absolutely livid to find out that their boss is treating them like crap for no good reason. I didn't see these girls do anything wrong and we observed this closely, you just snapped at them for things you could be asking them politely to be doing but you a grown woman chose to be unprofessional, I could tell this was stressing them out and it's just plain verbal abuse. This is sad because our son loved the planes and experiencing that was great so we will just take him to watch planes but won't be eating there again unless the attitude is better and better quality control with some of the foods. I had heard about this place but had never set aside the time to go. So we finally did and we were so pleased! The menu has so many options and then they had specials as well. The restaurant is small and the view is unique. We watched the pilots fly in and have breakfast and then head out. Lots of fun!! We ordered pancakes and an omelette. The waffle was the best waffle I've ever had, no joke. Great spot to fly in or drive in.

What a great place. My friends have all been. They go during the week with their kids to watch the planes come and go. I took my husband on Sunday morning (similar to taking your kid) and he loved watching the planes come and go. Service was excellent, food was great and quick. Coffee was hot and just right and my cup was always full. Even the price was good. There are no bells and whistles here. Thankfully, there is nothing fancy. It is a comfortable spot to have breakfast and chat with other patrons. My husband loved his little outing. read more

I live in Nashua and this is my favorite place for breakfast or lunch. It's a bit difficult to find, though. Take Perimeter Road past the hangars and between the trees then first right. For those of you that have gone to the Midfield Cafe, you are probably wondering why one star, because the food is halfway decent. I am giving them one star for one reason - the constant berating from the owner on her staff. We stopped going to the Midfield Cafe probably 6 months ago, because of how she treats the staff, disciplining and yelling at them in front of customers. It makes everyone uncomfortable, and honestly it is just unprofessional. If you have a problem with you staff or need them to do a better job, then you take it out back... nobody wants to listen to it... we are there to eat breakfast. We went back today for breakfast hoping things had gotten better, and within 2 minutes, the owner is right back at it. You look around at other customers, and everyone is just cringing. I read through other reviews, and found that this has been mentioned by others. You have lost my business... I will not support a business where the owner treats the staff so badly. Took a ride up to Nashua this morning to try this place out. The reviews were so good. This little place is tricky to find but I am gla'd we did. My daughter and I were seated right away, a table had just opened up. It was nice and warm inside. Our food was good and fast. My favorite was the pancake, least favorite were the hashbrowns. At my house, I'd have browned them. Dont like when they are white and not crispy. My favorite thing about the restaurant besides its location were the table covers. We had flannel airplanes underneath clear plastic for our tablecloth. Loved it. The table next to us had airplane gauges! The place was really clean, warm, fast and friendly. I'd recommend bringing children to see the planes and copters flying in and out. We will be back for sure. read more

I've now been here several times, as my kids now beg to go to "the airport" for pancakes. I've had the pleasure of breakfast and lunch and expect to return many more times! While it is a little hard to find the first time you go, it's worth making your way out to the Midfield Cafe. It's small, probably around 10-12 booths and a handful of counter seats. You may find a line out the door if you go on a weekend morning. Don't go here expecting gourmet diner food. However, go and expect great diner food and maybe a surprise here and there on the specials list. I was thrilled when the "fresh fruit" side with my breakfast was actual fresh fruit sliced AT the cafe, not that precubed mash of melons with a grape that you see at many places. Bananas and strawberries and pineapple and cantaloupe. You wouldn't think it would be such a big deal, but for me it was. Another day, I came for lunch. We were the only ones there at 11:30 on a weekday, which was fine (my 3 year old and I). I ordered a burger with cheddar and onion rings. It was outstanding. Cooked perfectly to my specs and clearly not a premade patty, I was practically licking my plate. My only complaint was that the onion rings needed to be dropped onto a paper towel for a few seconds prior to hitting my plate, as I had some grease on there that I could have done without, but the rings themselves were, as you can probably predict, fantastic. Service has always been with a smile, even when they are slammed with a line out the door. The kids meals were great (we've tried pancakes and the hot dog), our food has always been hot. The kids have the bonus of watching planes land and take off right outside the building when they are not coloring with the paper and crayons provided by the restaurant. This place is great. It's a small #dinner like atmosphere that is open from 7-2 and serves #breakfast all day. I went with the guys from my office for lunch. There was 5 of us and there is only a couple tables in there that would accompany us but luckily one was open. We order a mix of breakfast and lunch dishes everything came out fast hot and fresh. There are many choices for sides one is fresh fruit. I was very impressed it was actually fresh fruit (not canned) grapes, raspberries, blue berries, banana and pineapple. The prices were inline with a normal dinner. I had a french dip and it was $8. I didn't even notice it was light on meat but the server thought it was and brought me a side of beef and took $10 off our meal. Totally unnecessary. I'm so glad we found this place we will be going back! read more

The waitstaff weren't friendly and the food was overpriced. $35 for two adults and two kids for a greasy spoon breakfast is a little high in my opinion. Another Yelp find. Never, ever would've found this place without a "nearby" search. But I instantly knew it would be a hit with my boyfriend who loves quirky places with educational value. It's a tiny diner with a small summer deck on the second floor of a building at the Nashua aiport. Park at the aviation center and head as if to the field. The restaurant is on the left marked only by a small temporary sign and the flow of families on a weekend morning. The food is above average for a diner, but people come for the view of the airfield, watching planes landing and taking off. The day we were there they had a small airshow of antique fighter planes and bombers. The only real downside was that the wait for service and food was longer than average. I suspect the small kitchen contributes to the bottleneck. But the food was hot and well prepared when it arrived and the staff was friendly. The slowness of the service lost them a star. read more

Airplanes! Food! A visit to the Midfield Cafe brings both of these right to your table. It can be a bit tricky to find your first time there - follow the signs, keep going around the corner, and head in by the car rental place, then go upstairs. Food was good - it was getting a little busy around lunchtime on a Monday afternoon (school vacation week), they definitely could've used a few more people working. The Monte Cristo was a big pile of turkey, ham, and cheese, wedged in between some french toast - probably would've preferred a little less on the turkey/ham and slap another slice of french toast in between to make a better sandwich stack. Homefries were good, as were the grilled cheese and fries my wife had. Ironically, the entire point of going here was so that my toddler, who is obcessed with pointing out all of the single-engine planes taking off from Boire Field, could hang out and watch the airplanes take off and land. Instead, he spent the majority of lunch fascinated by the styrofoam cup and straw that our waitress brought for his apple juice and the little plastic bin of crayons! As far as how the food compared to other places, I'd say decent standard breakfast food. Nothing that bowled me over - maybe I should've been more adventurous and ordered the chicken-fried steak with sausage gravy, 2 eggs, and homefries for $8.95 that was on the specials board. Damn. We have visited Midfield Cafe a few times now... My daughter loves going here! She always orders the Mickey pancake (which is a gigantic Mickey head) She is never able to finish the whole head. lol She also loves watching the planes and helicopters taking off and landing. I always order the Jr Midfield breakfast. Which is your choice of 1 egg, toast, choice of meat, also one side (I always get their homefries YUM) and a pancake or french toast. The service is fast. I think we got our order within 10 minutes of being there. The midfield is also reasonably price. For my daugter and I the bill came to 13.99. The waitstaff is always friendly and she always checks in to make sure you are good on refills and to see if you are enjoying your food. My daughter also loves that at the end of our visit she is able to look into the "prize" basket and pick from a selection of toys. We highly recommend the Midfield Cafe!! read more

Local to the area and never heard of this place. It's tucked upstairs in the airport tower of sorts.... the staff were very welcoming and quick to provide service. The specials were 8 or more.....had the veggie egg quesadilla... the salsa was mild and the beans on the side were very good. Wife had the Florentine tomato Benedict.... with yogurt. The have it your way on the side was a nice addition... Coffee was very good. The owner and manger insured we were happy and had time to have little conversation. Hard working group.... Being able to see the air planes flying off was something you don't see in any other location. Hard to beat. read more

I really wish we could reserve seating outside, because it's not often that we can get an outside table to watch the planes, but regardless we always have a great experience here! If I were rating just the food, I would be giving 5 stars, but I must discuss the service. This morning was the 2nd time we've gone to this restaurant. The other time was on a weekend, too, to be fair. The first time was practically the same experience as today. Each time they had a sign up indicating that they're short-staffed, and today the server gave us fair warning, too. It took forever to get the food (which was expected), but the thing that we just can't stomach is the evil person in the kitchen screaming directions to and berating the brand-new staff. It actually was ridiculous. Forewarning about the wait was fine, but listening to the smart-alec manager demeaning her staff members in front of customers is something I won't tolerate. This place is the ABSOLUTE WORST!!! If I could give this dump lower than One Star, I definitely would but unfortunately, that's the lowest grade Yelp offers on this forum. I honestly think the folks who gave this place 4-5 Stars must be either: Owners or Employees or Relatives/Friends of the aforementioned -- I don't believe any of these particular folks could possibly pass a Polygraph (Lie Detector) test with making these fabricated comments. The portions are lousy for the money they charge. The service stinks. The quality of the food is crap. And there were no planes landing or taking off outside -- Is this really an active airport for Beechcraft and Cessna planes or just an aircraft junkyard? That would've provided a little bit of entertainment while we were eating, but it seemed like all these planes were "grounded" for whatever reason. NEVER AGAIN!!!! read more
