I highly recommend adding this stop to your drive down to the Keys. It's a quiet village with little shops and a cute coffee shop. They have tons of seating outside with some in the shade so it's perfect all year round. I ordered an iced matcha which was delicious and prepared very fast despite being pretty crowded. They have a shared parking lot with other businesses, but parking is not an issue. I will be back to try more of their menu. read more

The cutest shop with yummy coffee and great service. I wanted to create my own flavored latte and they had no issues accommodating. I saw they had caramelized banana for their matcha but I wanted it in a coffee. It was a perfect decision. They made it so delicious and just the right balance of flavor, espresso and milk. The best coffee I had in Miami. Granted, it was a low bar prior, but the mocha I had was delicious and went above the bar. My wife also liked her iced chai latte. Only downside was they didn't have skim milk but did have 2% We also got the açaí bowl, which was massive, and the avocado toast. It had quite a lot of olive oil on it over the arugula, to where it was running down my hands as I ate it, but all of the ingredients were really fresh and it didn't feel overwhelmed by the oil. Maybe cutting back a splash would help here. There is no seating inside but an outdoor patio with plenty of chairs in the sun or shade. read more

Maybe improve on the attitude of people who work here. It's hilarious how they ask for a tip before the service and or coffee/food is even delivered. And then you leave a tip and the workers are just rude and the service is subpar. Why the heck are you asking for a tip if you aren't going to go beyond the minimum? It really gives places a bad rep if you're gonna stand there "it's just gonna ask you a few questions" and then treat us like crap while asking for money absolutely hilarious to me. Anyways. The whole area of Village Square was recommended to me by a couple that is friends of ours. They frequent the Keys often as they actually down down in Long Key so their recommendations come in quite handy! Since this is the Cafe Moka page in particular I will focus on my experience with that. Cafe Moka is adorable! I picked up a peppermint mocha with almond milk, my husband had a bottle of Natalie's orange juice, which is quite frankly one of the best oj's around! We also shared an almond croissant. We took our food and sat down in one of the many seating areas around the entire Square. For those of you familiar with South Florida, this place reminds me very much of Aguacate Sanctuary in Kendall, except no animals. I highly recommend that place as well:) My mocha was yummy - I wasn't looking to fill up too much so I only had a bite of the croissant. It was good...a bit too rich/sweet for me, but my husband loves it, since he has a sweet tooth. I will definitely be stopping here for coffee and snacks every time we come down to the Keys....I would rather support a small business rather than the local big chain...Trust me, they will be fine! Do yourself a favor and pull into the Village Square parking lot and walk through the gate - It is a completely unexpected and quiet garden area with a etsy-ish boutique, plus artisanal booths with plants, etc... read more

When you first enter , get ready to be blown away by their wallpaper & almond croissants. I would be lying if I said this isn't my favorite most expensive cafe. But guess what, keep the quality of food + drinks the way it is & a flock of people will come like ducks at a park. Just wave the almond croissant around like bread. Haha. Okay on a serious note, if you're a frequent you receive a 10% discount which is given as an incentive & thank you, but there is something about a REWARDS program that is just missing. That is the ambiance this cafe needs. Have been to the one in Tavernier and the one in Islamorada. Great coffee and pastries. Did not try the more "prepared" items, I.e. breakfast sandwiches. They also offer a limited assortment of cold sandwiches and premade salads. The islamorada location is in Village Square in the back. Grab your beverage of choice and sit outside in a most chill and relaxing space. Palm, roosters, garden art...all wonderful. FYI, there is no indoor seating. The Tavernier location is larger with both indoor and outdoor seating. Same food assortment as the Village Square location. In Tavernier, the parking is in the back. Def not a Starbucks kind of atmosphere. More relaxed here and def not as loud. read more

Zana, the barista at this very cute cafe, provided her name to the packed room of disgruntled customers as we all patienly waited for our drinks and pastries. The group started to complain because we had been waiting for over 20 - 30 minutes. All of us having spent our hard earned money, supporting a local cafe, we're yelled at by this disgruntled barista. When my wife asked where our orders were, after seeing four people behind us get their drinks before us, the customer service queen, Zana told my wife you will have to wait because you didn't tip me. My wife being in the service industry also, said I always tip by cash before leaving the cafe/restaurant/shops. Then one other patron asked for their beverage and suggested to Zana to simply do her job. Zana then threatened to call the police. Welcome to 2025(?)! My family and I live in Florida, in another tourist driven area, where millions upon millions of 'out of town' money fuels the local economy. This encounter was both sad and comical. For five years in a row, we have visited Cafe Moka. There will not be a 6th time. There are plenty of cafes in the keys. Zana, since you so proudly announced your name, get another line of work. The cute, jazzy local coffee shop of Islamorada! We stopped by in December 2020, and it was a great pit stop as we were driving along. I actually didn't order coffee, I got the mango smoothie and it was fantastic! I thought it might taste more artificial, but it tasted just like real mango- the sweetness at the beginning and how it ends with an earthier, bitter bite, it was sooo good. They have a lovely little outdoor courtyard where you can sit, which was especially nice when we went because all of their indoor seating was packed away for the time being. I'm speechless . Cold brew was stronger than any place I've been. I asked for cinnamon, vanilla and caramel in it. It was amazing. Nutella twists were very dense and delicious with butter making it very moist. The almond croissant was insane. It felt like it weighed 2 pounds. After biting into this folded and rolled piece of heaven I saw why it was so heavy, lots of butter. It was so delicious. My wife enjoyed her quiche Lorraine and so filling.
