I would not recommend Midwest Auto Shop to anyone based on my experience. The entire process was frustrating from start to finish. It took over two to three months to get my car repaired -- and while I understand the insurance adjuster had some delays, the lack of communication on Midwest's end was unacceptable. I had to constantly chase them for updates just to find out what was going on with my vehicle. When I finally picked up the car, I noticed the hood wasn't sitting correctly. I brought it up immediately and was told it would "settle into place." Within just two days, the hood began to bend even more, specifically around the latch points. I reached out, hoping they'd at least re-evaluate the work, but instead, I was met with defensive and threatening emails stating they would void the warranty if I kept pressing the issue. To make matters worse, they had removed an emblem from the vehicle during repairs and assured me it would be replaced. However, the moment I questioned the hood installation, they told me they would no longer order the emblem and officially voided the warranty altogether. That kind of behavior shows a complete lack of professionalism and accountability. The only positive experience was the young woman at the front desk and the messenger -- both of whom were helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, that's not enough to make up for how poorly everything else was handled. Save yourself the headache -- take your car somewhere else. ** Response to comment From owner ** 1. The insurance company for the driver who hit me recommended your shop for the repairs. 2. At no point did I ask you to falsify anything. I brought an oxygen sensor and asked if it could be installed, offering to pay for it out of pocket. Are you now denying that? 3. Regarding the accusation of falsifying: didn't you claim the hood was open in the final photos of the completed car? The hood was not sitting right, and you know that. Claiming it was simply open during photos is misleading. 4. I never claimed to be a public adjuster. I work on home insurance claims, so I'm familiar with adjusters and the process. 5. When I picked up the vehicle, I specifically mentioned the hood was sitting too high. If it had been hit, why were there no paint chips, dents, or damage to the bumper or surrounding panels? 6. You speak of integrity -- all I asked was for a fair reassessment. The situation deserved another look. 7. The car had the emblem when it was dropped off. After your team washed it and I picked it up, it was missing. I brought this up, and the response I received was that you had returned it but were not going to take responsibility for replacing it. 8. I genuinely tried to resolve this. I gave your team two to three weeks and asked for a re-evaluation of the work -- which was denied. Instead of acknowledging the concerns, I was met with defensiveness and my character was called into question. This is not how professional business should be conducted. My 2002 Lincoln Town Car was hit when it was parked, the car is in excellent condition and had never had an accident before the incident happened. I take very good care of my cars and i brought my car here, not just because it is in town but also it was recommended. They did a great job she looks like new again. The car is two tone, they got the paint done just right no overspray and also the parts installed look great. The work is well done the service is good as well, easy to reach them. I had several options for an auto body shop through my insurance. The reason I chose Midwest Auto body is because with the initial first contact they were super professional, helpful, and nice. I felt like I could trust them immediately. They took care of all my insurance stuff and Rosie helped with getting in contact with a rental place that would come pick me up. They made the process of getting my car fixed very easy. I didn't have to do anything. Jesus, the owner, was very professional. He made a purpose to come out to greet me everytime with a handshake and created a good professional relationship where I knew I could trust him. They aren't bad at fixing my car, the things they lack on are notifying the customer on what they didn't tighten up or what stuff stops working once they put the car back together.. I would like to know when my center console not tightened back to the floor. Was never notified or fixed. Was appointed to this body shop by my insurance. Went with it cause it had good reviews. I get my car back after having it there overnight, to tell me that they were able to remove the scratch but they had to jumpstart my car the next morning. First they said it had something to do with the lights then that my battery was supposedly low. I can tell they left it on or the lights on overnight due to the fact that I had to reset the radio with a pin. The only time the radio needs to be reset is if someone were to disconnect the battery or leave it in the on position for a long period of time causing the car to die out completely. Now I'm stuck with having to pay for a brand new battery. I recommend purchasing a 24 hour dash cam no matter what auto body shop you go to. read more

This place is great! I mashed up the front of my car. It is a 2001 Jetta - I wasn't ready to scrap it, but I also didn't want to claim it on insurance. I explained to Jesus that I needed it to look good, but not perfect and that I was paying for it myself. He understood my situation and gave me a quote after looking at it for a few minutes. He was ready for me at the agreed upon time when I dropped off my car. He did the work in the promised timeframe. He called me when the hood didn't close perfectly and texted pictures to see if it was acceptable. When i picked up the car, it had a new bumper. I noticed that there was no license plate holder. He told me if I got one at a Volkswagen dealer he would put it on for me. When I returned 2 weeks later with the holder, he gladly attached it for me. I had a great experience with Jesus. Although I hope i don't need him again, I won't hesitate to go back should I find myself in an accident. *quick note - accepts cash and cashier's checks only. read more

I chose this shop initially because it was close to my home. But once I brought my car in I was greeted with the best customer service I've ever experienced at an auto shop. They were attentive and detailed. He really went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of. I definitely felt the service was full of value and customer driven. These guys are ON it from the word 'go'. I have an older car & wanted to avoid claiming it on my insurance. They found ways to salvage things (the year and mileage would likely have caused the insurance co. to total it.). NOthing was wrong with it other than the smashed front end. They mentioned every step they'll take & offered the ability to save things or where I'd have to actually spend money to buy a part. They're resurrecting my car b/c I (I) feel there are many miles left on it & really can't afford to replace it right now. It's nice to know you can 'dial in' the amount of effort used to make things more affordable. --And they explain exactly what to expect when the repairs are complete. I will never go to Maaco again as long as this shop exists. They're in my phone's memory to stay. read more

I recently had my car fixed here because the person that hit me had the insurance American Access which is not the best insurance. The representative gave me four choices. This was the most decent if you will call it that (although she indicated I can go anywhere but if it's more money I would have to pay the difference). When I went into the shop everything they said to me was with an unsure follow up. They didn't know how long a bumper would take (mind you it was a minor accident). Jesus even went as far as to say when finished the color might be different. Who in the hell tells a customer something like that who is already stressed out!! They even told me the paint was warranty for life and when it was finished I was told that American Access only warranties it for 1 year. I confronted Jesus with what he said prior and he printed the warranty out for me which was a general explanation for anyone. I asked him to sign it saying it will cover me, once he did, he stated his signature means nothing! At that point I just wanted to leave. The most unprofessional and unsure and somewhat not too smart place to go. I gave 2 stars because it was painted just ok!! They had a stupid answer for everything I asked. Rosy went out of her way to help me secure a rental car after the rental company canceled the reservation. Jesus gave me a well detailed explination of what work was done to the car,warranties and pointed out extra details of what the car need to be fixed i would recomened this place.
