Not only was this 1 of 2 'Urgent Care clinics' ,within a 3 mile area, to answer my 7 phone calls, this location was able to see me immediately, with easy online checkin, unlike the other one, that was $40 more for a standard visit, but a 24 hour later availability, and a warning that the waiting room will take at-least 1 hour upon arrival. I had a sleepy-fever for 5 days, thought I Had fever blisters. For $170, very skilled and analytical NP Claudio diagnosed me that I instead had Impetigo, confirmed I did NOT have the flu or COVID then prescribed me great ointment! Very poor service. Visited the facility for flue and sore throat symptoms. I filled up a form upon arrival with all my information. My prescription medication wasn't send to the pharmacy after the visit, I called and requested this be done which was about 4hrs after my visit. They then sent it to the wrong location which I had to call a second time and to confirm the location. What was the point of the form I filled out upon my arrival. Poor location and service. I came in last March for an issue and was seen relatively quickly and to my satisfaction. However, Midwest Express never sent me an invoice. They never emailed or called for payment. I didn't think about it since I had provided a credit card upon check-in, so I just assumed they had billed the card. Nine months later, while checking my credit report, I discovered that they had sent my bill to collections, despite never having invoiced me directly. Please try another urgent care if you can. This is the second time I've had a bad experience at this clinic. It's close to my house and I figured I'd give it another try after two years. Took my wife in who was dealing with high fever, sore throat, and not feeling well. They took a culture sample to see if any results for strep throat would come back. Sent her home to take Tylenol and Mucinex DM. A day and a half later my wife was feeling worse and I called back and they recommended she go back again, but would have to pay another follow up fee (even though we had to make a co-pay our visit - and they took our insurance as well). I explained to the nurse practitioner that we talked to that we already paid our co-pay and that my wife is not feeling well and requested if we could get some antibiotics. We have now been waiting for three days to get results in with no answer. I just called twice this morning to speak to a head practitioner only to be on hold for a total of 20 minutes. I am finally giving up and heading over to rush hospital. Very disappointing. read more

As you can see from other one star reviews, this company has some unethical practices when it comes to billing. Midwest Express Clinic sent me two emails for past visits in early April and May 2023, informing me that I was going to be charged for two visits and to not submit payment, as the emails were not bills. This payment was for the portion of the bill that my insurance did not cover. In mid August 2023 I received three emails and three letters from a debt collection agency stating they are trying to collect three debts that I owe to Midwest Express Clinic. These visits were from late 2021, early 2022, and mid 2022. I called Midwest Express Clinic to inquire about these charges on 8/25/23. Midwest Express Clinic would not tell me why I only received two initial emails instead of three, but did say that my card on file was declined, when they tried to make the payments mentioned in the first paragraph of this complaint. They said this was why I was sent to debt collections. I did not receive any notification that I would be sent to debt collections for the amount owed, though they claimed I was sent one letter on July 21, 2023. I did not receive any such letter. When I asked Midwest Express Clinic what the card number on file was during the payment mentioned in the first paragraph of this complaint, I was told that it was deleted once it was declined. I was never told my card was declined! If they had just reached out to me and notified me I would have given another card and paid immediately. Their mishandling of their payment and processing has directly caused this debt collections issue for me. I will never return to Midwest Express Clinic and suggest you find somewhere else for urgent care. read more

I had a referral for a back X Ray in May 2021 and everything went fine. The receptionist said I did not owe anything and recorded my insurance information. Because the service was covered at 100%. In Nov 2021 I got a collection bill in the mail for a medical exam $115 that I never received! The business did not attempt to reach out to me about the money I "owe" but instead sent it to collections which will go on my credit report. You have to call the billing department for any issues and then they send out a clinical review to see if there was a billing mistake. 7-10 business day wait. NEVER AGAIN BEWARE !!!!!! SCAMMERS!!! *Update via google reviews* I called the number you provided and is just a basic customer service line. Billing as I mentioned was already contacted by me. I've come here a few times over the past year and found out that they had been double charging me for each appointment. I didn't receive any communication until a collection agency reached out to me. I have been going back and forth with billing for a few weeks now-providing them with proof of payment for each visit. When I arrived for an appointment today I'm told they won't see me for this issue which they haven't taken care of for over a month. The front desk staff is very unhelpful and pretty rude to most people coming in the door. I called in the morning for an ultrasound appt and I was told I needed to see a provider first, so I went ahead and went straight in after the phone call. I probably only waited 15 minutes, mainly waiting in line to check in. Dr. Amy (I don't remember her last name and I think that's her first name) was very kind and she seemed genuinely concerned about my situation. She came out with me to the reception desk to schedule my ultrasound and a follow up appt with her. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the ultrasound in time before my vacation but I'm happy that they were able to accommodate me so quickly and it's good to know that I have the option to come here for ultrasounds if things come up in the future. read more

Great clinic, with good doctors and affordable prices for people without insurance. I went there two months ago due to a hand injury that I didn't treat for a few months and it ended up swelling and becoming really bad. The doctor was very straightforward and honest that I need to see an orthopedist and she doesn't want to make me spend money for an X-ray because it is best if the X-ray is done by an orthopedic doctor. I am very happy that they were honest and immediately referred me instead of taking advantage to do tests and diagnostics knowing that I don't have insurance. I will definitely keep going to this location of Midwest Express Clinic in the future when I have health problems. read more

I would rate this place a zero!! The Black lady at the front desk registered me and told me to sit down and someone will call me right away. I was the only one waiting and people start coming in. They call a few people that came in after me and I thought it was because I was a walk in and they had appointments. I finally get up to ask how much longer it would take and a differently lady from the one that first attended me asked me my name and said they put the name wrong, From Carmen to Diamond?! how when the lady before you saw my id?! I continue to get collections emails annually for bills I already paid in 2021 and proof of insurance was already provided to your clinic many times. I have tried calling numerous times to fix this to either leave a message and talk to no one or talk to someone who says they will straighten it out. And then I get a message a year later that I owe something. You initially seems to open several accounts for me which sounds like fraud; I won't be surprised when you get busted for whatever scams you're running. read more

Registration and check in systems do not work. You can check in and wait an hour to find out your card expired and you really aren't checked in. Appointments are not honored. If you make an appointment and check in on their ipad, you shouldn't be waiting while all the walk ins go before you. registration system catches a loop and resends code repeatedly. third time I'm updating my credit card that prevents us from checking in. They removed the TV and kids table so while the aren't really checking you in, good luck with your sick toddler. We have religiously come here about once a month before it switched to Midwest express and we will now be going elsewhere. Staff and doctors are great, but system prevents you from getting to them. read more

Waited an hour just to be asked for my credit card because "we couldn't confirm if you have a copay". They had my insurance card, which states a $20 copay, and if that wasn't enough, there's no reason it should take an hour to come to that conclusion between the 2 people working the desk and 3 other people in the lobby. When I got back there 10 minutes later, I was seen by a nurse practitioner who asked questions about my symptoms then told me to move to another room to be seen by the doctor. When the "doctor" came in, it was yet another nurse practitioner who looked in my ears, had me breathe with a stethoscope, and then said "it's likely viral, so come back if it's been a week since you started seeing symptoms. It should likely resolve itself by then or by the next weekend. Otherwise, take some Sudafed." Naive to think the 2 star review would be sufficient rather than go to the next closest place. Now I'm off to another place while they charge my insurance hundreds of dollars for just wasting my time and saying "tough it out and come back if you're still miserable in another week." read more

Came in for a COVID test. Whole process was pretty easy. I booked my visit online about 3 days before the my exam. Even though I didn't get any notifications or alerts the day of, I showed up and checked in right away. It was pretty empty while I waited. The exams was super fast and not as uncomfortable as I expected. Will definitely return here for future covid exams. read more

Update: I finally got my results after 17 days and multiple calls. The final call they had my results but didn't bother texting it to me for official communication. THEN I got spammed in my email with an appointment reminder for an appointment I never set up.... I'm so confused with this place. This has nothing to do with the staff, who were kind and doing their best. However, it has been 10 days since I took my Covid test and I still haven't gotten my results. I would deter folks from using t Covid testing since at this point it's moot what my results even are. I had a misdiagnosed ankle sprain. I went back 2 times within a month and was told I had a sprain that was healing. A month later another doctor examined me and found I had a fracture and dislocation. I had to have immediate surgery. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! read more

Literally the worst, most unorganized, unprofessional staff ever. I went here a week ago for a nose covid swab. They don't know what their doing because each person I've spoken to since that day has told me a different story The day of my testing (Tuesday), the technician said to call back Thursday afternoon for results. I called back Thursday and the receptionist said that I'd get a link email or texted to me for a virtual waiting room where the provider would go over results but they can give them to me via phone or email. Sunday comes around and nothing happens, j call at 8pm to get the after hours receptionist who said they closed at 8 but left my message. It is now Monday and I've called twice in the two hours they've been open. They are now saying Tuesday or Wednesday which is- past 8 days FYI. Go elsewhere. read more

My doctor had called Midwest Express Clinic to see if they could treat a throat abscess. The receptionist told her that the clinic would be able to treat me so I went in. Turns out she was confused and that they do not actually treat abscesses. They sent me to the hospital. Wasted my time and money here. Receptionist's need more training and to talk to a doctor before they make promises they can't keep. Shady billing practices- I've come here a few times and they took all of my info, told me that I was covered by insurance for my visit. A few months later, apparently they claimed they sent me 2 outstanding balances to which I NEVER received because I moved, yet they had my phone number and email but didn't have decency or balls to call me or email me saying that I owed them. Next, they had the nerve to send a collections notice to my house looking for their stupid $30 outstanding balance. Why would you not call me or email me before getting the collections agency invoked? Are you kidding me? My credit score is nearly perfect so I sucked it up and paid the damn bill. This place is the sneakiest urgent care in the world and should be put out of business. The 2nd time I went there, they had given me another bill for something else (that time I received it) and they told me I owed $183, meanwhile my insurance company said I owed $22. Please make it make sense. You guys are pathetic and incompetent and feel the need to mislead others. Never returning. Nice facility, friendly staff but after 40 min I was sent to the pharmacy with the wrong prescription. I came in with a raging eye infection but the prescription was for EAR DROPS (according to the pharmacist). By that time the clinic was closed. The Good 1. Was able to get in for a Covid test same day. 2. Never had to go inside the facility, you wait in your car and they call your phone when it's time to swab your nose in a tent in the parking lot. 3. Staff was ok: not super friendly but not rude either, mostly quiet. The Bad 1. Providing COVID results..,7 days and counting 2. The telecommunication system should be abandoned immediately, it's not working. Without notifications of any sort I received cryptic tests messages with a link to talk to a doctor about my results...the link doesn't work. I receive random emails saying I have scheduled an appointment yet it does not provide a time or date. You can go and change the time but it doesn't change anything. Thus far, I received 3 appt links and none of them have worked. I called the facility hoping someone could tell me my results or email them. I have used this business multiple throughout the years...cold symptoms, eye infection, and flu shots: all with great experiences. Guiltily, Midwest Express Clinic is somewhat of a primary care physician for me. I needed to get a flu shot for work and after calling CVS, Aayu clinic, Advocate clinics, and being redirected to websites to make appointments, I was told I needed to wait 3 days. I called Midwest Express and someone picked up after one ring, booked me for a flu shot same day, and got me in and out of my appointment quickly. When I called in, I wasn't taken to some long, lengthy recording, or redirected to a clunky, time consuming web booking portal, they serviced me after one ring and same day! Efficient, expedient, swift. Will come back if facing another healthcare concern. read more

While I was doing my checkin and asking questions, the receptionist answered the home three times and ask me to wait so I kept repeating myself. incompetent billing. Went with my child in December 2022. Could not verify my insurance due to their own computer issues. Sent full bill. Called back with insurance information. Never heard back from them until my account was sent for collections. Called back... I had to fix it with my insurance. Escalated to supervisor (which they did not want to do) -- they had messed up my child's date of birth -- so that is why insurance had rejected it. Finally insurance billed and paid. Now they are charging me for more than what the explanation of benefits allows for. No email contact. Only phone number that is available M-F 7am-7pm. read more

My wife went in for COVID19 antibody test, with insurance. After she received the confusing results she called for an explanation. Between the visit for the test, the test itself, and the followup call the charges added up to $290. Keep in mind she was not sick or had any medical procedure done. The final bill after insurance was $58. I had the same test done elsewhere for $40 out of pocket. I saw that others did not have a great experience here either, so i'm just adding to the chorus. read more

I thought this place was just fine! I feel bad that people had issues with billing - but I had insurance and they charged me a normal $50 copay for my visits. Staff was super kind and relaxed - facility is clean. I came in for routine STD testing and the nurse was super kind and I felt safe. Got my results in my follow up visit. I'm giving 4 stars though bc I don't believe that a follow up visit is necessary - it seems like a money thing for them. They say it's bc of HIPPA but plenty of doctors offices have online portals for results. Oh well! Good place. read more
