NO NO NO. Not because of the doctors, because of the receptionist, nurse and the lack of empathy! Just yesterday I had a bike accident and that was the closest clinic that I can go. When I arrive there I was bleeding from both of my knees and arm. I was in the Schock and pain. The receptionist had me wait ONE HOUR even though I was literally begging her if I can see anyone because I was in so much pain. Whole the f*cking time, she didn't even look at my face! No empathy at all! She was like I have to go through your insurance first, then you can see a doc. For God's Sake, I was bleeding. I've been in emergency room before, they take care of you as soon as possible and meanwhile they could collect the information they need. I understand that health system in this country isn't the best but she didn't even say anything to comfort me or make me think she's trying her best. Probably I wouldn't write this comment, at least she looked at me once or say I'm sorry I'm holding you here, sorry for your accident etc. Nurse would walk around and say NOTHING. They all pretended like there was no one bleeding, and they were supposed 'health workers'. If you see a person bleeding in the street, you go and ask if they're doing okay as a human being. Both completely pretend like I wasn't there. At some point, I started crying. It wasn't because of my pain but being ignored. Obviously, I wasn't having a good day and they made my experience there such frustrating. I couldn't take it anymore. Finally, they figure out my insurance and I went inside so that nurse can take my weight, height, where the bleeding was. Another 10 mins, I'm still in the PAIN. I don't get why they didn't do that while I was waiting in the room. Normally it's totally fine, but I'm still bleeding, in pain and most likely in Schock. Where is the understanding? Then, eventually I was awarded to see a Doc. The doc was extremely kind and understanding. She cleaned my wound and comfort me at the same time. She took care of me very well and she apologized on behalf of the others. I really appreciate her. NOTE: They do COVID testing here as well. They separated unused-used pens in two pen holder. The nurse gave an used pen to a patient waiting outside. This isn't okay. read more

I went to this clinic with severe pain in my back, left ribs and into my chest. This pain persists with movement, breathing, etc. and I was told to get a massage and take a muscle relaxer. I asked for additional research into my situation and was met with resistance by my physician, Dr. Sanchez. We agreed on an xray of the area, however, they did not even xray where I explained I am experiencing pain. I can't wait to pay a ton of money for images of an area I didn't ask for! Not only this, but I have never had a doctor even call to explain my image results. I followed up with the clinic to receive results of whatever they imaged and was told they would call me back, however, no one has even bothered to give me my results and it's been 12 days. I felt dismissed and like no one could be bothered to listen to the issue I am having. I tried their muscle relaxer, I tried a clinical massage, and I am still having this severe pain. Like I explained to my physician, I fear I have a displaced rib and have scheduled additional care elsewhere. I will not be returning as it's obvious they could not care less about my pain and concerns. They want you in and out and paying a pretty penny for it! read more

I wasn't sure if I had a UTI but something didn't feel right "down there". Disclosure: I've been married for 3 years so something was up but it didn't feel like a normal UTI. I took a urine test at the clinic but it was "inconclusive" and as the nurse practitioner was about to walk out, she looks back at me and goes "unless you'd like to take a vaginal swab to see if it's something else we can't see yet?" Ummmm yes? Jesus, I'm trying to figure out WTF I have!!! So I do a vaginal swab (which sucks if you're a woman you get it). It's supposed to take 3-5 days for results. 3 days later I get an email saying my urine sample was abnormal but it doesn't flat out say why. So I call to ask them why it's abnormal and they say to hold on for a minute. 10 min later they tell me they're so sorry but I guess they "forgot" to test the vaginal swab but confirm my urine was "abnormal" but they HAVE NO IDEA WHY and asked if I could come in for another vaginal swab and urine test. Avoid if you are looking for a relatively quick COVID result. When I received my test, I was told 2-4 days. It's now greater than 4 days since my test and I have yet to receive my result. When I called this morning, I was told that results take 3-7 days. Do not go here, they use unethical billing practices. The medical care team here is great. Everything else about this company is a pathetic scam. I would rate them zero stars if possible. I went in April and everything was fine. They collected my credit card info on the spot and billed me and my insurance company correctly. I also setup an online account on their patient portal. I went again in August for some routine testing... my insurance was billed correctly and i even received and paid a bill from Quest diagnostics. I received no other contact from the clinic (via mail, email, phone, or online patient portal) and then suddenly today I received an email from a collections agency that i owe $24 for the August visit. What? I called Midwest Express billing department and they told me that bills had been mailed in the past and that it was out of their hands. I never received those bills but I decided to double check the patient portal: there was zero indication of a notice or even money being owed (what's the point of a patient portal?). I also double checked my email for any correspondence, nothing. I found similar experiences in the reviews here and on Google reviews about collections notifications. I tried calling the "patient advocate" phone numbers... that just routes you back to a waiting line to talk to the billing department. I called the collection agency and they informed me that I wasn't the first person to have this experience with Midwest Express. They also said that they were going to reach out to their contact at Midwest Express to discuss why patients weren't being notified. This is such a pathetic way to approach business. Now because they didn't properly bill me or contact me, they have lost my business forever over $24. read more

Definitely go somewhere else for your Covid tests. When my husband and I got tested, they said it'd be between 5-10 days. It's now been 13 days so the results (when/if we get them) will be pointless. So so here's the deal. My partner and I were making dinner for a friend and everything was going great we're making some type of spaghetti type dish except with different noodles like a rigatoni. Period. So then my partner is doing some dishes and suddenly she slices her hand open via a tomato can. I didn't know what was going on she said while this cuts really deep and serious well I could just tell that it was serious by her tone of voice. Then she said to get the first aid kit. And no nurse here I wasn't sure what I was doing when I saw how deep the cut was I didn't know if it was something that would require medical assistance or not. My first thought was I fucking hate the ER so let's just put a Band-Aid on that thing. But when our friend came over they clearly saw that we need to go to that walk-in clinic. And well luckily this walk-in clinic was open. So we put the pedal to the metal and we went that way and luckily my partner got in ASAP rocky...Usually these places take forever but this place was super fast although we were not allowed to wait in the waiting room because I think of Covid but we did get some suckers to go. Anyways my partner got stitched up and we got to head out of there and go home thank God that they could stick my partner up because she was about to bleed to death. This place is horrible. For starters the staff at the front desk is beyond trashy and have the worst attitudes ever. I seriously waited for over an hour and a half to get my toddler a physical done. So...first time visitor and my entire experience was absolutely horrendous. I urge this clinic to give their employees a basic lesson in human decency...at bare minimum. Of the handful of people who I spoke with during my time at Midwest Medical Clinic, the only person who was even somewhat kind was the PA. People are scared right now, rightfully so, and should feel like healthcare providers care and are there to help you. During my time at the clinic, I was shamed, I was treated like a burden, and I was made to feel unwelcome. That is absolutely unacceptable. I originally was scheduled to visit the River North location and had to reschedule to Wicker Park. A woman from River North location helped me make the apt switch. She was lovely, so going into this clinic I was expecting everyone to have that same level of care/customer service, but that was just not the case. Next time I will be looking elsewhere, and recommend others to do so as well. A little bit of kindness goes a really long way these days and to leave this clinic crying because everyone was so unbelievably nasty says quite a lot. When I had follow up calls with doctors, I was told vastly different things about me and my boyfriend's quarantine period each call. It's really no wonder covid has spread so fast and so far when you're given such conflicting information within the span of a few days. Oh, and when your bill arrives...don't except anyone to pick up the phone or call you back when you try to call. I received a COVID-19 test and the results were negative. Midwest Express charged me an additional $90.00 to provide my test results. My insurance plan covered the cost of the actual test, but I was charged an additional $90 to get my results. This seems like a scam to me. After initial in person consult and blood draw, I was told I would be contacted in 3 days for follow-up. 7 days later, I was contacted for phone consult to report lab results. Any calls to the clinic are automatically routed to voicemail, which disconnects call at the end of message, no way to leave information. 15 days after initial visit, I have no paperwork, and received no email documentation regarding the visit. I was told lab results would be available in the Quest patient portal - there is nothing reported in my Quest patient portal from them. They could have have drawn my blood and thrown it out, no way to know. This feels like insurance fraud and should be reported as such. read more

I went to Lakeview in which I waited another hour and a half. I didn't get my results until I called. I was not contacted for another two days. I went for a check in today and was told I never made an appointment by the rudest receptionist even though the doctor and I spoke on the phone and confirmed the appointment two days prior. I would have rated higher but every receptionist I've spoken to has been incredibly rude. Midwest Express Clinic was by far the worst medical establishment I have ever went to in my life. I came in with extreme pain from a fall I took. At first they told me my insurance does not accept urgent care visits... which I have now come to learn it does. It caused me a lot of distress in the moment because I was in pain and wanted to get in to see the doctor but Blue Cross does not have customer service representatives working on the weekends. After I had established on my own my insurance would cover this visit despite what they told me I met the Dr who suggested X rays to see if anything was broken. I go in to take the X-rays and the machine is not working. They tell me they are restarting the machine and it will take 15 mins and lead me back to the examine room to wait. Thirty minutes go by with no one updating me and I finally go find a nurse to see what is going on. They let me know they are still "restarting the machine". A few minutes later the doctor comes in and says "sorry about the x-ray machine it's broken but can you come back Tuesday?". What type of urgent care does not have an X ray machine? Also it's insane to suggest I walk around with a broken bone for 3 days while they fix their machine. The cherry on top of this horrible experience is the doctor sends over prescriptions for pain meds but when I get to the pharmacy they inform me no one signed the prescription so they need to send them back so they can be signed. A truly awful experience at a time when I was in a lot of suffering and really down. read more

We came a month or two when my toddler dislocated her wrist. Making the appointment was a little confusing because of COVID but we showed up and called and were told that someone could see us. We were greeted in such a friendly way. My daughter was nervous and her wrist was in pain, but they gave her a little crown which absolutely made a bad day a whole lot better. I thought they handled the whole COVID thing really well. We felt really safe there. The whole process was relatively quick. A nurse or medical technician did an intake with my daughter and I and took some X-rays. The doctor was absolutely fantastic. She came in and introduced herself as my daughter's "friend Suzie". No ego whatsoever. She made conversation with my daughter and SNAP, popped her wrist back into place. She explained everything in a language I could understand. As miserable as it was to have a toddler with an injury, this was one of the most pleasant experiences we've ever had at a medical institution. Months later, my daughter still plays doctor and always pretends she is doctor Suzie, gentle and kind. read more

I went to the Wicker Park location to get a Covid 19 test and was alarmed at how the nurse provided testing. She was wearing a torn gown, used gloves and not the proper protective gear for herself or for those she came into contact with. I was told I would be contacted within 5 days for the results but when my appointment day came and went I called the clinic which put me on hold for 15 minutes. I hung up then called again. The lady who took my call put me on hold to "search" for my results. When they could not find it, they said that the lab must be backed up and that I would probably receive results the following day. The next day I received a text message, same as initial day I went in, to rate my experience going into clinic, as if to say the day I called looking for results was the day my test was turned over to lab. This leads me to believe that the test was never sent into the lab on the original day of my visit. I am now feeling worse as my symptoms are more pronounced and I'm at a loss for how to proceed without a test result. DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION! I feel that if I weren't positive, I am now because I went to this location and may have been in contact with a nurse who was also in contact with other Covid 19 patients. read more

I see there are two other reviews about you guys losing lab results which is absolutely unacceptable. My boyfriend went here initially for kidney pain and you misdiagnosed him with a kidney stone. It turns out he had ATN and needed to go to the hospital where he stayed for a week. Fortunately after I called back you advised me to take him to the hospital. He had to come back to get blood work done to make sure his protein levels were continuing to go down and then you called to tell him his blood work was contaminated and that he'd need to come back in. I begged him to go somewhere else because of your obvious sheer incompetence, but he went back to you a third time and guess what? You still didn't deliver his lab results to the hospital. I hope his protein levels are getting better because it's been 3 weeks now, and if they're not, any permanent damage to his kidneys is on you. Also, I called the front desk to inform them of this issue and the man was useless. I specifically said I didn't want any medical info because I understand HIPPA. I called to tell you there was a problem and I expected you to then look into it. You didn't need to tell me anything. You just needed to be like okay we'll look into the issue and give your boyfriend a call instead of being an absolute cüñt and a half about it. You don't care about your patients at all. read more
