My partner and I came here relatively late on a Wednesday evening because most other places were either closed or full due to the Lunar New Year. Generally speaking, our opinion of the place is that their BBQ AYCE is very average. The staff are super nice, accommodating, and attentive on our visit, so no issues there! Let's start with the bad thing about their BBQ AYCE, which is their Mini Pho (which means I have little hopes about their mini soups). Frankly the broth didn't taste as complex as most good Pho I have had, but hopefully this isn't a reflection of their normal Pho. Definitely would skip the Mini Pho for the AYCE though. Another note is that their Garlic Edamame is just Edamame with some crushed garlic on top, they didn't stir fry it in garlic or really even cook just the garlic itself... the edamame was good, but not really what we expected for garlic edamame. Another low for our experience was the dipping options offered. The Yakiniku sauce definitely tasted like a mass-produced sauce from a bottle, far too sweet and didn't necessarily go well with the meat either. The Sweet Fish Sauce I was hoping would be a highlight since it's a vietnamese restaurant, but it was far too bland and honestly tasted like it had too much water added, maybe to appeal to a larger crowd? But sadly I would say their fish sauce option is the worst option what we tried. The Mam Nem we opted not to try because I personally don't enjoy it regularly and my partner definitely wouldn't have knowing her tastes. Finally, the spicy powder wasn't great either because it didn't really have a taste other than spicy, so don't expect a Mala Dipping Powder here sadly, though it did enhance the other sauces when you add it to them so it definitely did work as a flavor booster. Personally I just grabbed the Sriracha and Hoisin sauce on the table and enjoyed the meat with a mixture of those (would've been perfect if they had lime wedges offered). Onto the BBQ itself, the New York steak seems to be their only "steaky" option in that you receive a chunk of meat to sear. Nothing really to write home about here, it was neither bad quality nor outstanding quality. Filet Mignon Steak was cut into small thin strips which is pretty common for this sort of thing. I personally tasted something a bit off about it when eaten without condiments, my partner however seemed to like it. I will say it was tender like filet mignon, but at the same time slicing it thinly is meant to counteract any chewiness anyways. Again, neither great nor terrible. I do think this was the only cut that you definitely needed a sauce to eat with. Ribeye Steak/Marinated Ribeye so I'm not sure why they list both of these on the menu because when I ordered them both, they just gave me 2x the marinated ribeye which is cut relatively thinly (like maybe 0.25 Inch?) and marinated in a sweet sauce. Overall tasted good, but ended up eating more of this than intended because I thought I'd be receiving 2 different meats. I will say at least you don't need a dipping sauce o enjoy this cut at least. Marinated Short Rib is was my favorite cut. Crosswise cut Short Ribs that have been marinated in a sweet sauce. Definitely would recommend and you don't need a dipping sauce to enjoy these at all. American Wagyu Brisket was enjoyable to me. It definitely looked and tasted marbled. They don't seem to trim the fat cap though so if you don't like having a large chunk of fat on the end, like my partner, you may not like this cut. American Wagyu Chuck Roll was also enjoyable, nicely marbled and tasted great. My partner enjoyed the Pineapple although it was cut into small matchsticks strangely. Their Broccoli was steamed which bother my partner and I felt was ok, but honestly we would have enjoyed just raw Broccoli to eat raw or grill better. Other than that we tried their Gyoza which I'd say is a bit lower quality than most places we've tried, but still decently good. Difficult to make crispy gyoza skin + a filling that is at least mediocre bad. Not sure I'd recommend this, but I wouldn't recommend against it either. Overall I think the AYCE BBQ pricing is at least fair considering they're offering American Wagyu options as well as Short Rib, so the price tag feels on par with other places. Overall, I'd like to see a more vietnamese style BBQ succeed, but as is I think I might end up here every now and then, though I wouldn't necessarily end up here on a craving nor have it be my first choice. I didn't feel like any of their dipping options was particularly great for the BBQ and is definitely a point they could improve on, I suggest maybe offering Mala Dipping Powder, Lime Wedges, and maybe a more traditional Fish sauce (like make their sweet one less watered down and offer a more savory one like the Jeow Som equivalent). read more

After our late escape room we were hungry. This place was open til midnight. I like the inside as its very roomie. There's even a bar area. The menu is westernized. They have English names rather than Vietnamese names. The food is ok. I couldn't get past the bland banh mi made with reg mayo and not Vietnamese butter (egg mayo butter). There's no pate either. This was an underwhelming sandwich. The vermicelli with pork was bland as it's all about the sauce. The sauce had no life. My bun rieu was really decent. This was actually good. However, the tofu was really gross and they had chicken meat. Chicken meat! This is the most whitest thing ever! Its was also VERY dry. The bun bo hue was OK. Not bad and not decent. Perhaps we are lucky with what we order? You can get your lotto tickets here too. We were expecting lemongrass, garlic, and fish sauce, but there wasn't even salt and pepper. The fried rice was also bland and had no smoky flavor. The egg was fried perfectly Asian style with crispy edges, fully set whites, no raw spots with silky runny yolk. Most of all it was not greasy. The egg rolls are four stars. A lot of wrapper and too little filling. With regard to accessibility, there are very few disabled spots. The regular spaces are tight and you'll likely bump into a car getting out and even more difficult if you have a wheelchair or accessibility scooter. Got the 3 personal choice combo pho, 3 colors dessert, and papaya salad appetizer. The three personal choice pho combo was really good, no complaints really. However, the papaya salad was a little unexpected, it was bland with a little spiciness added to it. If you're expecting a Thai or Lao stay papaya salad, you will be disappointed. Lastly, the 3 colors dessert had what seemed to be coconut jelly red bean, and some kind of other bean with ice topped on top with condensed milk. It's a large portion served in a cup but personally it was very underwhelming. Overall, I would just order the pho next time and skip on the rest of the things on the menu. We walked in at about 5pm on a Thursday. It wasn't busy - about 3 tables occupied with a few more tables filled as we sat. We were greeted and seated right away, anywhere we'd like. Music was playing that wasn't overly loud along with TVs on - on mute. We were serviced shortly after seating. They provided great customer service. Everyone we encountered was patient and friendly. Food we had: Bun Xeo (vegetarian with fried tofu) - the crepe itself was good and crisp however the sauce was more soy sauce based rather than the traditional fish sauce base. Shaken beef - meat was tender and flavorful. Salad was super fresh! Shrimp spring roll - the roll itself was soft and fresh however I'd prefer more veggies rather than packing it with noodles. Also, the peanut sauce was a bit too plain, for my liking. I had to add sate in every bite. Overall, food didn't taste traditional, definitely didn't beat my Mom's cooking, but I get it, I didn't go there for my Mom's cooking! Our dishes were decent, for an "American" version, if you will. I'm not really a fan of Pho in general, but a friend wanted Pho so I suggested this place because I think its a modern take on pho. So its not your traditional pho but has more modern options that a normal pho place. We started with an order of egg rolls, they were crispy and delicious. I normally don't like the dipping sauce at traditional Vietnamese places because its very fish sauce heavy, but since I didn't get a strong fish sauce smell I gave it a small dip; Not bad no strong fish sauce taste! Thats a huge plus for me! I just ate my egg rolls with sriracha though. For my entree, I was trying to decide between the short rib pho, ox tail pho and ox tail bun bo hue. I asked the waiter his opinion he suggested the short rib pho. When it came out, I was so surprised! I can see why he suggested it, it was a whole beef rib! The rib meat had been braised and was very tender and meaty. Yes the prices are a bit higher than your traditional pho place but they have more updated modern offerings. So don't go there and get the regular pho that you would at your normal pho shop, that's not why you come here. I forget what my friend ordered, some more traditional type of pho, he said it was very clean and tasty. It's in the same parking lot as Nijiya, Okan and Karami ramen so theres a large parking lot but some of the spaces are really tight, so if you can find one with adequate space take it, or park on the street for more stress free parking. Service was good, the waiter gave a great suggestion and refilled waters in a timely manner. There were only 1 or 2 servers but it wasn't too crowded. I really like this place. The food is always tasty. They have a great daily happy hour with food and drink deals. Service is friendly. It's great too because they always have room to sit. I usually order the grilled pork w/eggrolls vermicelli, but I decided to go with the grilled beef this time...mistake...the beef was a tad on the dry side, even though it had good flavor . . . Have been to this place many years even before Covid. The food quality is always great as it was from the beginning. Big portion but very affordable prices or I would say some even cheaper than other restaurants. This is the only place that I could drink the soup in Pho or Bun Bo Hue with nothing leftover because I can tell they are really cooked from real meat and bones and herbs, not crazy MSG like other restaurants, I didn't dare to drink the soup in other Pho's restaurants at all. They have variety of Vietnamese authentic foods that you should try each at least one. My favorite: - Bone Marrow Pho, Bun Bo Hue, Chicken Curry, Chicken Salad (the only salad I could eat here because it has no onion ), cripsy fish sauce fried chicken wings, and yes, can't miss my favorite grilled snails. Just finished here. It was meh. One server in particular could use a little more training. My usual pho places were closed today so we checked out this place. Said server who greeted us wasn't very friendly. I should have known the experience with him wasn't going to go well... We wanted to sit away from the draft of the front door. He said that both the front and rear door open often. I thought the back would be best and no one ended up going out the rear door anyway. No draft in the back. When asking the server if their egg roll dish comes with lettuce and mint he said "no". Which I thought was weird, because it usually does but I didn't see it mentioned on the menu. So we ordered the spring roll. Then when I looked on the Yelp photos, the egg roll DOES come with lettuce and mint on the side! I asked to change my order and then thought to mention it to the server that the egg roll dish DOES come with lettuce and mint but he proceeded to tell me it doesn't. I didn't have my phone with me when I was speaking with him and he was adamant that there is no mint on the side. He told me he can put it on the side. I said no, you shouldn't have to it comes with it. Then he proceeded to show me what greenery comes on the side. He got a baggie and emptied its contents on a plate and said these are the contents that come with the egg roll...and wouldn't you have it, there was lettuce and another piece of greenery on the plate. I asked him was the greenery was next to the lettuce (knowing that it was mint lol) and he said "I don't know" and then asked his server friend what that was... and he said MINT. Haha, I felt like ok I'm not crazy. Any who, there was no manager on duty today to vent to, so thank you to Alex, who had great service today and not the lead server or the other server we had. Will never come back. By the way, the food was edible, but ok. The broth was missing something, skimpy on the rare steak. I also got tofu and bok choy. The egg roll with lettuce and MINT was ok. A couple of weeks ago, I went to this Mignon Pho + Grill for lunch. When it came time to pay, we all asked for separate checks. Their payment system went down, but not before they attempted to charge my card twice. When they came back to let us know about the issue, I checked my bank account and saw two pending transactions from the restaurant. I brought it up right away, and they told me not to worry--the charges wouldn't go through because the system was down. None of us had cash, and they wouldn't let us leave without leaving some form of payment. Someone in my party ended up giving them his card information so they could charge it later. I sent my portion of the bill to the person who left his card. The following week, I checked my account again and saw that both of the original charges had gone through. So now I had paid three times--twice on my card and once via Zelle. I called the restaurant to explain. The server who answered the phone remembered the situation, but the way he responded made it feel like he thought I was lying--possibly because someone else had left their card info, which may have confused the situation. I did my best to explain, and eventually he understood and said he would leave my info for the manager, who comes in around 9 or 10 p.m. (odd to me, but okay.) He told me, "Maybe they'll call you tonight, maybe another day--I don't know." By the end of the week, no one had contacted me, so I stopped by in person. One employee was ready to help, but the same server who answered the phone chimed in and said he had already spoken to the manager. According to him, the manager said I just needed to dispute the charges with my bank. I asked why no one called me, to tell me this and he said, "I passed along the message." So as I told them I would, I'm leaving this review to warn others. Their customer service is careless, and their handling of the situation was frustrating and unprofessional. I started to frequent this restaurant and genuinely enjoyed the food, but I won't be back. Disappointing experience. Oxtail pho cooked to perfection meat melts in your mouth, so tender and delicious for sure. It's my absolute favorite best pho I have ever had. I will say they are incredibly stingy on their condiments that go with the pho, if you dare ask for more as rightfully so because they don't give you enough, they will charge you extra which I feel it shouldn't be an extra charge at all. Service is okay nothing to brag about. Ambiance is good nice and clean. I would give 5 star but given that they are very stingy on condiments and charge extra I feel they are not deserving of five stars. But all in all Pho is incredibly delicious read more
