We got the combo which comes with rice, miso soup, cabbage salad, curry, chicken and pork katsu. The portions are very generous. My wife and I share one plate with an extra rice and it's more than enough food for the both of us. The curry is very good and love smothering my katsu in it. Recentlly, while on a shopping visit to H-Mart, my wife and I stopped for what turned out to be a great lunch. She enjoyed a Pork Bulgogi Rice Bowl complimented by a nice array of veggies, from Jaws Express. Though the curry sauce was a bit bland (how do you even do that?) I was pleased with my monstrously-sized Mixed Curry Katsu Combo (chicken and pork) from KZ Mori that fed me two and a half meals. I always have mixed feelings about dining at food courts. They really have no reason to do a good job, considering how much traffic their host facilities send their way. So the excellent quality and execution of my order by KZ Mori was truly impressive. Well as we were feeling hungry we decided to come to KZ Mori and once again there is plenty of seating inside shares with all the other restaurants inside this food Court . It is located inside H-Mart Grocery Store on Balboa Ave. . For Parking it shares a Lot with 24 Hours Fitness . So we walk in and look at menu and we decided on ordering here . As you can see in my pictures the food is delicious here . First they give you a buzzer and you wait for the buzzer to go off and you grab your order . I always get the tonkatsu curry. I order it to go, but the H-Mart food court does typically have a space even if it's usually mostly full. The food is ready in about 10 minutes or so. The katsu is often crispy but can be a bit drier at times. The breading might get a little soggy from steaming in the container for to go orders before you get home. I love the cabbage salad that comes with katsu but the cabbage could stand to be sliced more consistently thin. The curry itself isn't made from scratch, which is fine, while its consistency might be inconsistent. Portion is generous! read more

Generous portions for a food court vendor! There is complimentary yellow radish which you can grab yourself to enhance your meal. I wasn't too much of a fan of their katsu sauce, it was quite watery and dark in color. If they could revamp this sauce, I think it would make their katsu stand out more. We tried their pork and fish katsu; I surprisingly liked the fried fish more as it was flaky and soft! Not sure what kind of fish they used, I'm going to assume tilapia, but I would recommend this version of katsu. The fish katsu only comes in a combo, so you get soup and a side salad as well, which was nice to eat in between bites, but nothing special. As for service, the food came out quick and fresh! When I went to buy groceries at H Mart Balboa, I was hungry, so I tried the combo pork katsu with udon and extra rice! It was so heavy and good. That's why I prefer getting it to go, I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it. I didn't even finish my plate, but it was worth it! The carousel at the H Mart food court on Balboa Ave continues as the previous vendor lasted at this stall for less than four months before being replaced by KZ Mori. The featured menu items were katsu (breaded meat cutlets) with or without curry. The available proteins were chicken, pork, and fish. The last was unusual as most places offer only the first two types. This cuisine was a much better fit than burgers from its predecessor. Curry Pork was my choice. Rice, miso, and cabbage were included with the set. The staff didn't seem to be bombarded with customers, however it took an awfully long time for my order to be prepared. Even with a numbered beeper, I had to inquire about the status after waiting over 20 minutes. If I had not done so to get their attention, then it might have been another several more minutes before I received my food. The kitchen may have felt bad and made an extra cutlet to add to the takeout container. That was certainly positive along with the crispiness of the product. An issue though was that one cutlet was so large that it exceeded the container which could not be properly closed. Another area of needed improvement was the amount of rice provided. It should have been double the portion size to match up with the amount of curry which was smooth and had a decent level of spiciness. The prices seemed fair. If this business can become more efficient with the freshly prepared katsu, then that will leave a better impression about the wait time. For now, I gave a 3.5 star rating for my experience at KZ Mori. read more

We completed our shopping at H Mart and wanted food. I specifically wanted udon and KZ Mori was the only stall that had udon. The bowl was reasonable at $10.99, you could also make it a combo meal to add chicken katsu. I got just the udon bowl and got the Mixed Katsu Combo for $19.99 that came with pork and chicken curry as well as salad and soup. The udon satisfied my craving with the right amount of protein. It wasn't crazy beef, it was more fish based. It was a light meal. The katsu combo was delicious. I loved the strong curry aroma and the flavor was bold. We asked for more spice afterwards and they added an additional level. My fiancé liked the chicken and I liked the pork. Both were juicy, thin and crispy. I wished they swapped the portion size and gave more rice than salad. Service was quick. We were given a beeper and seated ourselves. The food hall was getting crowded. The price is a bit on the expensive side but you get SO MUCH FOOD. I got the curry cheese tonkatsu meal. The pieces were so big, but to be honest, I did not even really eat the curry as the trays the meal came in made it hard to combine the curry with the rice, as there was no enough space on the plate for the rice, just a to-go bowl. My boyfriend and I were both pleasantly surprised by KZ Mori! We love katsu, especially katsu with curry so we decided to give them a try when we saw they opened up in the H-Mart food court. My boyfriend got the Mix Katsu Curry (pork + chicken katsu with curry) and I got the Chicken Katsu Curry. It comes with the katsu, curry, rice, salad, and miso soup. I really liked the curry as it tasted like it was made from scratch and not a generic curry block. The chicken was fried perfectly and still juicy. The portions are huge and generous for the price which we really appreciated. We weren't expecting so much food and both had leftovers to take home. Service was great and our food came out fast. You order at the counter and get a buzzer to notify you when your food is ready. Open seating in the food court but it gets busy and chaotic during the weekends. There's been a lot of turnover in this food court with places only surviving a few months, so we really hope KZ Mori will do well and stick around because we really enjoyed them and will be back! read more

Let me say the food was EXCEPTIONAL. We did not expect it to be that good, that maybe I am forgiving the lack of customer service. There were three employees. None acknowledged me and my daughter as we wait to be helped for over 10-15 minutes. Not even a simple "hi" or "hello" or "sorry for the wait, be with you in a sec". No smiles. None. But I do get why they had constant line of people. The 20-25 minute wait was worth it because food was cooked as you ordered it. The chicken and pork Katsu were both so tender. Great little Japanese food place located in busy H Mart off of Balboa Avenue. I had just taken a class at the neighboring 24 Hour Fitness with the co-habby and we were starved after. We decided to check out the food court in the grocery store and KZ Mori was the only one open at that moment. We both decided to get the Mini Chicken Katsu which came with rice and it was huge!
