First time here. Found them on Yelp. Giving them 5 stars because for simple reasons. They catered to plant-based/vegan and vegetarian options. We phoned in before driving there and they answered all our concerns and questions. The staff were all very friendly, very accommodating, and the place was organized and decorated. The plating/presentation was nice, and the food was decent. The pricing was also reasonable. The only thing to keep in mind is that parking is a bit limited, and was a bit busy and not as easy to get into--also, the restaurant has you order up front and they'll bring you the food to your table. The water is self-serve. Overall, a good first time experience. We're not from the area but would definitely come back to try more items on their menu. read more

i kept seeing this place pop up and i finally tried it. i loved it! i got their combo 1: - crispy shrimp spring roll - shrimp & avocado spring roll - pork egg roll - shrimp egg roll - chicken dumpling - iced jasmine tea (unsweetened) - vegetable soup it was so delicious! i want to come back to try their pho. the service was great. you grab your own water, but a server will come by to take your order/bring your food/bring your check. you pay at the counter when you're done. there's a small parking lot outside, but i recommend going when it's not peak hours so that you can snag a spot. the restaurant doesn't seem to have AC, they do have a giant fan blowing in the back. but i would recommend bringing your own mini fan if you're going to dine in! read more

We ordered two filet mignon pho bowls, and unfortunately they were some of the most disappointing pho we've had. The broth was incredibly bland, tasting more like oil and water than a rich pho broth, it was completely unseasoned. They used to be at different farmers markets or events, but now, I only know about being able to get them at their brick and mortar location in Hillcrest. It's a small plaza with tight parking, but if you get lucky, people are in and out quickly. I ordered some spring rolls and they were good, but not overly flavorful. With simple ingredients, spring rolls are never overpowering, but I love when the herbs and protein create a nice flavor profile. They were still good, but I think my expectations were a little high given how much everyone hypes them up. The only downside was the shrimp! They were quite small. But overall, the entirety of the dish was delicious! This is definitely my go-to spot for fried egg banh mi! Must admit it's been a while since I've tried their pho, but their spring rolls are definitely on point. I will usually get a side of beef broth with my egg banh mi and if that's an indication of their pho it's gotta be good. My favorite thing about the banh mi that I get are the crispy fried garlic pieces they put on top of the egg. Service is solid, nothing over-the-top but never ever rude. Food always comes out pretty fast and it's always good. The place itself has plenty of seating, I've never been there and had trouble finding a seat. We called ahead and placed a pickup order as we've done before. However, when I got home and started eating my Vietnamese salad, I discovered a bug on one of the shrimp. It was honestly very disappointing and disgusting. That same night, I called the restaurant to let them know what happened. They asked how I wanted to proceed, and since I don't live close by, I politely requested a refund. They agreed to this, but to this day I have not received any refund for the order or any follow-up regarding the situation. Love the welcoming they are making clear that this Hillcrest business is welcoming of the lgbt+ community. I know, not difficult to do in the neighborhood but it's appreciated nonetheless.
