We ran across this little hole in the wall via Yelp! It's located inside the brewery so don't be confused! It's a whole vibe, though y'all. It's super quaint and very chill inside. The food is DELICIOUS! The elote aka corn was BOMB. Doesn't taste like a traditional Mexican corn but it was packed with flavor. We chose the 50-50 lean fatty brisket and it was definitely more fatty than lean. Next time, we'll do 100% lean. The pickled cucumbers and onions were a yummy surprise, too. The BBQ sauce is apple cider vinegar based. Our only real complaint is how salty the sausage was. My husband mentioned that his half of the sausage wasn't salty, indicating the sausage is homemade. I had no idea this place was inside of Ash and Ember Brewery. We pulled up their menu using the one of the various QR codes hung up around the brewery. They have a pretty wide menu, meat plates, tortas, tacos, grilled cheeses, sandwiches etc... The menu is very reasonably priced my brisket grilled cheese was only $8! Tipsy Oak in Arlington has a brisket grilled cheese and charge $12 for the same amount ! We got a torta as well and the food was all great. I had already eaten lunch before coming the first time, so my friend and I split a potato salad and a brisket sandwich. Man, I SO REGRETTED eating before coming here because the brisket was so dang good. Perfect bark, very moist, and it came with pickles also. The bbq sauce is also good, not very thick but packs a ton of flavor. I also loved that the potato salad has more mustard flavor instead of straight mayo. After that first sampling, I had to bring my husband to try it also! We each ordered a plate of food and it was perfect flavor but soooo much food for the price we paid. I ordered the brisket sandwich plate which came with two sides, so I chose a tangy coleslaw and the amazing potato salad. My husband had the the two GIANT brisket tacos, chips and salsa, and beans. We were both shocked at how much food we had ordered and stayed at the brewery playing games and drinking for quite some time until we had finished it. The best part is how the pit master, Ryan, makes everything milk-free for those of us with a dairy allergy! He is so up front about his ingredients and loves to chat recipes, which made the experience so fun for my husband who is perfecting his smoked brisket recipe. I absolutely love this place! Walked in and was greeted instantly with lots of love. Bailey and Ryan were both there (the owners) and they were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was great. We tried all 5 tacos: pork, sliced brisket, Dallas brisket, birria, and nopales. Wow they were all so good, we kept switching which one was our favorite. The bbq was so good and that's what really shines in each taco, and the addition of salsas, coleslaw, and nopales just supported the great meat. The brisket and the pork were tender and flavorful.
