My new favorite sushi spot. The sashimi was incredible and the rolls were packed with fish! Service is top notch and reminds me of my time in Japan. The music and atmosphere were a nice relaxing touch.

I can't speak enough about how good the sushi is here. The location is hidden in this shopping center but I beg of you; find it, and you'll be happy. I've tried just about every roll they offer. Each one better than the last. The staff here is amazing; they know me when I walk in and are always ready to greet me with a smile. I've said it before. The place is small; but it is quiet and quaint and offers you everything you need to enjoy your meal. By the way, the hidden secret here isn't the rolls; it's the Chirashi. One bowl of this and you'll be hooked.

Great food & great prices! The kutsu fried chicken was really yummy! Loved their veggie tempura plate as well. Great portion sizes.

We loved the creativity in the food , the place is so beautiful and clean and the customer service was excellent. They made my little 5 year old daughter feel so special! Love this place , definitely coming back .

The food is fantastic! It is absolutely wonderful and delicious in every way. It's actually probably some of the best sushi I've had in a really long time. They have some rolls with all fresh ingredients that are very well constructed, but i also noticed that they're quite generous because in every piece there was a generous amount of ingredients in there. While it's not an overly large role, you can notice the little things such as the roles that had fish on top flowed around and down the sides rather than just a small piece on top. The staff is very friendly and accommodating . The only maybe slight detractor is the price. They probably do price where most restaurants should and the price is good for the quality that you get, but it is a bit more expensive than any of the other sushi restaurants in the near vicinity. That'll probably keep me from returning often, but overall the food is so good, I will certainly be returning.

First time trying this place but won't be the last time here. Some of the freshest sushi I've had in years. The onion soup hits the spot. They are not stingy with portions. Boy did I order too much!! We will be back, as I found the freshness above any other sushi I've seen lately. The service was also excellent and a generally friendly atmosphere.

The service was insanely good! Our waitress was just lovely! Loved her! Part of our group was gluten free and she helped navigate which rolls to order and brought gluten free soy sauce to the table. The food was so fresh- probably the freshest sushi I've had since we moved here. The ruby roll was amazing! We all loved it. Spicy tuna always a favorite. The salmon and tuna rolls are just tried and true. The edamame had a good amount of salt, which we liked. We will definitely be back! Sooner than later. Can't wait to bring our college kids here this summer.

    Kanisu Signature Roll... yum!

First of all, really delicious and fresh. The white tuna was especially tasty. Nice-sized portions on the items that we ordered. I had the Kanisu, a signature roll which does not have rice or seaweed but is kept together by fresh cucumber which was all wonderful. The chef suggested to eat by hand and to make sure to get a piece of the pickled radish with each bite-- great advice and we loved it! My son ordered the Lion King signature roll-- a nice portion and really good Attentive staff. Beer, wine and sake available. Nice simple decor with comfy chairs! We will be back!

Great new spot in Roswell! My husband and I had a great dinner together. The chef was super friendly and came up to us to make sure everything was to our liking. The food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be coming here again.

Rainbow roll, bay roll, Roswell roll. So yummy!

I have never been here when there were more than just a couple of tables seated in the restaurant. Not sure if it's because of the location or what, but I love everything about this place. First of all it's beautiful inside. Warm dark tones and modern. This place can be classy at night I'm sure. The staff are very friendly. We come here for the sushi although there are other offerings. The sushi is skillfully made and the items are unique. You know the sushi restaurants that have the "standard" rolls you can find anywhere? This isn't it. We got two rolls but honestly I don't remember what they had in them. But they were pretty and very fresh! We also got the Bang Bang Shrimp which was excellent! The sauce is on the side so you actually get to taste the shrimp and the sauce had a nice Kick. Perfectly fried, well seasoned and fresh. We loved this!! If you can find this place, definitely give it a try! GET HERE for the Bang Bang Shrimp!

You probably know places like these are generally good finds. :-) No exception here. It's kind of wild what they can do in their tiny kitchen. Aside from sushi, you can get stuff like hibachi, noodles, etc. I went with several rolls and vegetable tempura. Everything was good though not notably exceptional. However, the real gem here is the price point ... which hit as *reasonable* by today's inflation standards. Interior dining space only ... and that isn't much to speak of, but it's functional and holds the stream of customers they get. It seems like they do a lot of carryout orders. Anyway, it's a spot worth checking out if you haven't been.

The hostess was so kind in her communications over the phone and in person, and we were able to get a spot at the sushi bar (which was ideal for us sushi lovers anyway). We both ordered cocktails that we enjoyed thoroughly (the laughing horse and 160 rabbit). I was a little bit disappointed that they were seemingly unable to switch out any of the ingredients or liquors in the cocktails, especially since I don't like whiskey but some of the yummy cocktails had that as the listed liquor. Regardless, the cocktails we got were delicious. We got the sesame asparagus fries with white truffle aioli, the yellowtail jalapeño carpaccio, and the smoked toro. They were all literally out of this world and delivered with a smile. We then ordered the picante roll and she-sho fresh roll. They were both amazing including the sauces that came with each roll. Our friend, who joined us and has lived in Roswell for decades, recommended it. I booked our reservation using Resy. Zest qualifies for the American Express Resy Credit, if you have a qualifying card. This is a casual joint. It's spacious, with a bar, dining room, and outdoor brick sidewalk patio. At 3:30pm on a Saturday, the bar was mostly full, and by the time we left around 5:00pm, the dining room had already gotten decently busy. This place fits in nicely with walkable downtown Roswell. $5 paid parking is available in a surface lot directly across the street from the restaurant. Here's what four of us had: Cocktails * Pretty in Purple ($15) - Empress 1908 Gin, triple sec, cranberry juice, yuzu juice, simple syrup, dehydrated lemon Mocktails * Strawberry Basil Fizz ($7) - fresh lemon juice, strawberry puree, fresh basil, club soda, lemon wedge Sushi - Specialty Rolls * Allyson Roll ($16) - shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber, topped with eel, spicy mayo, soy glaze, tempura flakes, masago * Super Crunch Roll ($14) - masago, tempura flakes, spicy mayo, topped with steamed shrimp, soy glaze Oysters * Raw Gulf Oysters (6 for $11) - cocktail sauce, fresh horseradish, mignonette sauce Small Plates Graze * Edamame ($6) with garlic (+$1.50) - steamed soybeans, sea salt * Parmesan Truffle Fries ($7) - wasabi mayo, ketchup Surf * Salmon Poke Crunch ($15) - diced salmon, avocado, yuzu tobiko, spicy mayo, green onions, wonton crisps Turf * Thai Lettuce Wraps ($14) - chopped chicken, water chestnuts, red bell peppers, red onions, sesame seeds, carrot nest, Thai plum sauce * C.A.B. Steak Skewers ($16) - beef tenderloin, grilled red peppers, onions, zest sauce, sesame seeds In general, the food was fresh and tasty. There was not a single bad item. The menu has a good variety of options and my wife and I appreciated the lighter and healthier dishes. I thought the oysters were a decent value. I wouldn't say this is a "proper" sushi or tapas restaurant, but the food is good for what it is, which I'd describe as Americanized casual. Megumi was our server and she took great care of us. The floor was sticky. Zest opened in 2011, so it's stood the test of time. A second location opened in Cary, North Carolina in 2024.

I was not disappointed at all. Getting here you have to worry about parking because it's not free parking. There are spots and places around but generally speaking you have to either do street, lot, or parking garage parking. The parking garage is a little bit further away so I would not suggest that but there is plenty of parking lot parking. I'm just saying this because you're going to have to walk no matter what happens. There's a lot basically across the street and a lot basically on the block next to it but they are around $5 to $10. I didn't have a reservation but I still went in and got seated immediately. We got a seat in the back of the restaurant where they make and prepare the sushi so that was a good view. It's very nice and very clean there and the service was great. Mario was a server and took really good care of the table. He was definitely a boon and I would have no problem with him waiting on the same table that I was at again! Super cool guy. Diablo roll - So the roll was very good and very tasty. It was a nice sized roll and it had a really good flavor to it. Would I get it again? I would. Ramen - The ramen was good. It had very good presentation and everything like that, the only thing I needed was to add a little razzle dazzle to it. So the ramen itself was savory but it didn't have a punch like I would like. So I just asked them for some chili oil and that took it right where it needed to be. If you don't like spiced then that's not applicable to you LOL. But I like savory and heat and this fixed everything and made it right with the world! I thought this was a really good place and I would love to go again. Actually. They have a couple of other rolls that I would like to try.
