    Too much lettuce

Not the best wet burrito especially with all that lettuce inside of a burrito the red salsa and meat was on point but I wouldn't come back never heard of someone putting lots of lettuce on a burrito that's a first for me .

Great hidden gem! Ample parking, menu has a lot of options from breakfast specials, combination plates, seafood and a variety of soups. Very attentive staff and food was fast, fresh and delicious!!

I always been curious about this spot after taking my cars to auto shops in the area for years. Never really thought it was an active store because it's hidden, but after today's visit, I found it does get busy. Today I ordered a fajitas platter, a couple fish tacos, and a chili rellano. The fajitas were packed with chicken and you get the side of beans and rice (and fries). They also give you chips with the meal. The fish tacos were standard, but good, ok for $4. Really enjoyed the chili relleno, and might get it in a meal next time. Overall, food was good, and I was surprised how nice it was inside considering the location. My only issue was that they seem short staffed and take longer because of this.

Chili Rellano Burrito, Deluxe, wet with red sauce.

Mikasa is a small Mexican restaurant just off of Valley Blvd in Walnut. For a first time visit, I ordered a Chili Relleno Burrito, Deluxe (Wet/w Red Sauce) and my friend had the Mikasa Omlette (Ham, Onions, Tomato, Bell Pepper, Cheese) with beans and rice. My burrito was medium, average sized. Just enough portion to satisfy your hunger but not large enough to where it really filled you. The filling and ingredients were fresh and melted, the red sauce gave it nice moist flavor. My friend really liked her Mikasa Omlette and it definitely looked good sized, along with all of the grilled fillings and melted cheese. The meals came with a small bag of chips and a plate of both hot and mild salsa. They do also sell separetely, large bags of tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole. For being a small restaurant, their have a lot of variety of menu items. If you are looking for a hidden place, that is quiet and does not get too crowded, this seems like a nice place to have breakfast or lunch. Constant to go pick up orders. Definitely, a local favorite spot.

Sometimes some of your best meals are found off the beaten track. Such as this place. You could easily drive by and miss it off you're not looking. Butt once inside you place your order, sorry down D wait for your Ford that comes out surpassingly quick and it's piping hot. Can I just tell you that the Al pastor is seasoned perfectly. Full of flavor and the carne asada tacos that I ordered we're just as delicious. The owner I think it's very hospitable and welcoming, treaty you like you're a guest inn the house and makes sure you have everything you need. Go have yourself some great Mexican food and support this local business

    Carne asada taco plate

The carne asada tacos were delicious! Very generous portions of rice and beans. The interior is nicely decorated with LA sports teams memorabilia and Mexican art. My only complaint is that the lime and cucumber agua fresca was way too sweet. Overall this place was really good and reasonably priced.

    Chimichanga was great.

Is their salsa bar back? Are the agua frescas self serve?

    Yes

Do they put lard in their beans and/or tortillas? Do they put chicken stock/bullion in their rice? Basically, are they vegetarian-friendly?

Lard in the refried beans, not in the pot beans. Rice had chicken stock.

The restaurant's gates have been closed all week this week. No one answering the phone. Are they still in business?

I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Mother's Day Dining Experience To the Management Team,…read moreI am writing to share my recent experience at your establishment this past Mother's Day. As a long-time fan of your restaurant, this was one of my favorite places to dine; however, my experience during this visit was deeply disappointing due to a lack of communication and poor service standards. My primary concerns are as follows: Limited Menu Communication: Upon arriving, I was disappointed to find a restricted holiday menu that did not include the dishes I had specifically come for. While I understand the need for a limited menu on busy holidays, this should have been communicated to guests waiting outside. Waiting an hour to be seated only to realize the items I craved were unavailable was a significant letdown. Inattentive Service: Despite the restaurant not appearing to be at full capacity, the service was lacking. My father's meal arrived significantly later than the rest of the table's, and basic needs--such as coffee refills for my mother and water for the table--were never addressed. No one checked in to see if we were satisfied with our meal at any point. Gratuity Policy: Regarding the 18% gratuity for parties of six or more, I completely respect the policy in principle. However, when the service does not meet basic expectations, being told I must pay a specific dollar amount--in this case, $40--feels intrusive. I am someone who genuinely enjoys leaving generous tips in cash to reward good service; being forced to pay a set amount for a subpar experience felt less like a gratuity and more like an unjustified surcharge. I believe your establishment is capable of much better. I hope you take this feedback into account to ensure future holiday guests receive the transparency and quality of service that originally made me a loyal customer.
