A couple weeks ago, we finally made it to dinner here, and I'm impressed. We started with apps: fried oysters (because I always like), and the coconut snails. Let me say the snails were a highlight. Surprisingly tender and flavorful. Sometimes, snails can have a livery / dirt / bitter flavor, but not these. And we were lucky rice wasn't on the table, because we would have stuffed ourselves eating rice with that wonderful sauce. Next comes the boil itself. My wife insisted on "no-spice" (ugh). But I got a side of the house sauce with med-spice. Let me tell you. That sauce. Again, good thing no rice on the table, because I'm already drowning everything in that sauce. Esp the garlic bread. The seafood was fine. You're not at the pier / Hawaiian beach / HK wet market fresh off the boat & straight into your mouth scenario. But fine. We're planning to be there again tomorrow. We had a great experience at Submarine Crab! We ordered the Combo 1 with head-on shrimp and mussels, tossed in the Torpedo sauce with a mild spice level, and it was absolutely delicious. The seafood was fresh, the sauce was packed with flavor, and everything was cooked perfectly. Trying this restaurant for the first time. Came here for lunch with my family. Restaurant was nice and clean, both inside and outside. I love their submarine theme decors. The staffs here are friendly and attentive. Being here for the first time, they were able to explain how things work. The food here is similar to Boiling Crab and Kickin Crab. You order your seafoods by the pound, then select your sauce. They have set combos you can order from, which makes ordering very easy. We got the Combo #1. We selected Shrimp, Clams, and Mussel. We opt for the Torpedo sauce, which is a combination of Garlic Butter, Classic Cajun, and Lemon Pepper. We also added the Fish and Chips. We didn't wait long before our foods came out. Foods were delicious. The Torpedo sauce goes well with the Seafoods. We enjoyed every bites. The Fish and Chips were also very good. We love it here. Long wait list, many tables open since 30 mins before I wrote this review, but no one cleaned the tables so they could call ppl in. They let new people came in and wrote their names down on the wait list without telling them that they can't take walk ins anymore. Some people were smart enough to cross their names out and left. We had the Combo 2 which was more than enough for two people. The peeled shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab were fairly delicious and juicy. We came when they have the live crawfish as opposed to frozen, and it probably made a world of difference. The spicy Torpedo sauce was also pretty good blend of flavors, a little spicy, tangy, and sweet. Service is very professional and attentive. Even had a cool smokey bubbly hand wash cup. This place isn't bad. There are other places I prefer as the sauce at those other places are better. However they do give you plenty of sauce on the side. They also have liquor here which is a plus. I would say I was pleasantly surprised with the service. It was great. Unfortunately we came at the wrong time. Apparently crawfish was not in season and was frozen. We missed live crawfish by a day. The clam was a little mushy and not that great. But the shrimp and Cajun fried rice was good. I can't believe this place opened AFTER I moved out of my parents' house in diamond bar! I always be craving seafood broil. We saw a reel on IG and decided to try it out since it was right next to my mom's. We went on a rainy Friday night and it wasn't too busy! I like that they play sports on the TV! I love this place. The decor is better than the prior crawfish place that was in the same location. Plus, this place is a real seafood boil restaurant, not just crawfish like the prior business. Service was awesome, atmosphere brighter, and the best part, fresh seafood. I ordered combo #2, and it was plenty enough for me and my son, and we ordered cajun fries and clam chowder. I'm so glad I found this location of Submarine Crab! I have held off from eating local shrimp boil because nothing compared to the location in Garden Grove. I'm glad they expanded and opened this location in Diamond Bar! My fiancé booked a Valentine's Day dinner reservation for us at 7:30pm. We arrived 10 minutes early and we're greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is quaint and straight to the point - no frills, clean and simple theme decorations. The restaurant seats about 15 tables. Once seated, we reviewed the menu and ordered just enough food so that we were full and no left overs - sweet potato fries, combo 2, and drinks. There is a free beverage when you follow them on IG or make a post and it is so good! I can't remember the name of the drink...Captain something. Very refreshing and cool drink with dry ice for visuals. The sweet potatoe fries were a good palate cleanse from all the garlic, although I definitely want to try the garlic noodles next visit. Once we had our food it was time to get serious with a bib, no gloves because peeling shrimp heads requires some finger grip. The torpedo sauce is a mix of all the seasonings (like the whole shabang but better, if you can imagine that). The shrimp was big, juicy, and delicious; so were the lobster tails. The drinks were very creative and had well thought-out ingredients and presentation. Definitely a nice touch. For Valentine's Day, we were given a complimentary bottle of wine which was such a nice gesture. We left here satiated, happy, and filled with love. It's a unique flavor compared to other seafood boils in that it trends more on the sweeter side, which makes sense since this restaurant serves everything with a Vietnamese twist. This time I got a pound of shrimp and a pound of their snow crab legs and I couldn't finish! Very big portions. Shrimp was not overcooked, easy to peel, and bouncy. The crab legs didn't taste frozen and were very succulent. They give you scissors and a cracker. I also added potatoes, but avoided the sausages as one sausage is actually just a slice so if you're ordering two sausages you're only getting two small slices. Each table comes with gloves and bibs. We also tried their coconut snails, scallops, garlic noodles, shaken beef, and fries. Nothing disappointed. This place seems family run. They used to have a server who did magic tricks but I think he moved so if you see older reviews mentioning magic, that's why lol Plenty of parking in this plaza. My original plan was to try both the shrimp and crawfish, but I got talked into just giving the crawfish a chance. They were plump, spicy and tangy, and were consistently juicy. I'm used to smaller crawfish that are doled out to you in large quantities. There were maybe 8-9 crawfish in the bag, but they were the size of jumbo jumbo shrimp. I enjoyed every bite.
