My puppy chewed the corner of a couch cushion. It is an older piece in good overall condition, but I didn't have any spare fabric for the repair. I need not have been concerned as the repair was PERFECT. I could not have been more satisfied with the workmanship, the price or the service. I will use them again (hopefully not related to pet causation) and recommend them to anyone. Who says small isn't mighty?! I don't have too much to compare Mike's to, but I loved the service and workmanship for my family heirloom rocking chair and ottoman. The chair is now comfortable with all new springs and cushioning, and beautiful with a fresh pattern all ready for a new addition to our family! I was thrilled with the finished product and the pick up/delivery service. I was not sure how to choose an upholstery place and all in all I'm really pleased with the workmanship, price, service, and how quickly the work was completed (about a week). I visited Mike & Sons after reading the reviews, the reviews could not have been more wrong. The woman I dealt with was not friendly and was quick. She was not open to questions or discussion of any sort. A customer had just picked up a chair and though it looked good he quickly was back asking where the arm covers were that had been requested to be made. Her reply was we did not make arm covers I'll have to come measure and quote a price. Big hmmm moment right there. The price I was quoted for the work I wanted done was extremely high. It should be noted that I've worked twice in the past with Mike & Sons ( both times with Julie) and was very satisfied with the quality of work, cost and responsiveness I received. Sadly, this has not been the case working with Reyna on a current project. In 2 months, no progress has been made. I'm very disappointed in Reyna's initiative and lack of follow-up for 3 scheduled meetings/phone calls. Regrettably, I am taking my business elsewhere and cannot recommend this company. read more

We brought in an old Room & Board bench that needed its upholstery replaced. We found the perfect fabric in their "remnants" collection for a nice discount. Mike & Sons reupholstered my sofa, loveseat and chair, and made cushions for the window seat, piano bench and sofa and loveseat. Because of allergies, I had them line all the surfaces with a rubber-backed, impermeable fabric. Overall, the work was very good, and they were pretty patient with my long decision process about what fabric to use. The work was reasonably priced. When the window seat cushion was a little too short, they made it again at no charge, to the right size. The delivery crew did some damage to my wood floor, and the piano bench cushion liner was just stapled together, rather than sewn like all the other cushions, but overall, I am very pleased with the work they did, and how they treated me. Years later, all is holding up well and I'm still pleased. I would go to them again. read more

I had a seat cushion cover that had come apart but had some extra fabric - so asked if they could try to fix it so it was usable again - I have to say its hardly detectable that it was ever repaired. The service was cheerful and prompt too - I am very happy that I went here for this project. If I have others in the future I will definitely come here - they also have a nice shop with tons of fabric choices! that alone may have me come up with another project soon! Excellent work, gracious people, a wide variety of fabrics to choose from. This was an excellent retail experience from start to finish. Warmly and highly recommended. I ended up bringing fabric I found elsewhere, which was no problem. I found the owner and staff friendly and cooperative. They replaced upholstery on the backs of 2 chairs and made cushions and pillows, all of this beautifully and carefully done. The chairs were picked up and delivered without charge, the work was done on time, and the price was very reasonable. I looked at two other places for this project and found them either uncooperative or disorganized. The vibe at Mike & Sons was very different--attentive, lots of helpful suggestions, genuine concern with what I wanted.
