UPDATE TO BELOW: I changed it from 3 stars to 1 star. These messages are really creepy. I thanked her and said I would consider it, and she continued to harass me because I wouldn't tell her why I gave a three star review. ----------------------- UPDATE: It was really disappointing to come back and see Eva's response here. I was actually going to come back this week and ask her to help with another dress, because overall I did have a good experience with her. For her to claim she never saw me is very disappointing. ------------------------ She sent me a message after my first review leaving three stars asking who I was because she didn't remember me (which was already a really strange comment to make). The reason I didn't answer her was because I had seen her responses to every other review that wasn't five stars, and I didn't feel comfortable being put in that position. Eva did incredible work on my two dresses for my wedding. She did what I called "dress surgery" on my white wedding dress - I bought a sample size and she took it down two sizes to fit my body perfectly and completely changed how the bottom of the dress fit. It was super delicate lace with embroidered flowers, and she cut out some of the flowers that would've been lost in the alterations and restitched them on other parts. She also listened to all my concerns (and I had a lot) and made sure the dress was exactly what I wanted. She never pressured me into doing the alteration "the simpler way" that would've lost some of the beauty of the dress. She also altered my Chinese qipao (red wedding dress) that was velvet with sequins and did a great job with that delicate material too. I will call out that Eva can be inconsistent with timelines, so you'll have to remind her if you're working with her. She did do two rush orders for me. But she also missed a deadline with the third fitting for my wedding dress (this was because she was sick, but she also had over a month to make the alterations). Overall, she's so nice, great value, and puts in great craftsmanship. She is my go-to seamstress. read more

They ruined my pants. They use a machine that can damage the garment. Look at the pictures. They tried to fix their bad work and made the garment even worse. The pricing was very expensive and cash in advance. I tried to support a local business. They do not press the garment before they give it back to you. Other customers complained of the very sloppy work while I was there. There are other 1 star reviews. The dishonest owner claims that the damaged pants are not her work. The invoice shows otherwise. When she asked me how much the pants cost I responded they are part of a $ 400.00 suit. Clearly she knows what she did is wrong. Why else ask me the value of the garment. The last picture shows how she burnt the inside of the garment when she tried to fix her poor workmanship. The evidence is overwhelming as several pictures of the bad pants show the floor of her shop. The dishonest Eva can try to explain that. read more

You know I have been coming here for years before it was Jee's and before it was Rina's. I've come when I've needed hemming and such but found the owner very reliable realistic and efficient. I brought once for jeans to be shortened and she gave me expectations on the request meaning how it was going to look and I'm happy how it turned out. She is definitely reasonable with her pricing too and many of the laundries use her and so their prices are much higher. I brought my niece there for her prom dress a couple of years ago and she did a fantastic job taking it out and shortening the dress. She even sells jewelry and accessories for weddings and formal events. I brought in for take in as the waist line of my jeans were too large and she had to take in the pockets and it looks much more flattering on me now. She's closed on Wednesday but I worked around it. Worest experience ever. My items were not ready on the due date. To make things worse, instead of stitching the hem, the owner decided to use glue damaging the fabric. I have never encountered a professional taylor using glue on suite jacket and pants. The owner did not even own up to the mistake. Very arrogant and amateurish. Avoid this place!!! read more

I had a bridesmaid dress that was too big and gave me no shape and I needed to get it taken in before wearing. If you want to waste your time, go try. She is neither kind nor polite to her guests. I want to say she is crazy. I saw what she said. I am not drinking person. I chose this location for bridesmaid dress alterations based on Yelp reviews but I was not happy with my experience and will not be returning. I felt that the services were overpriced for basic alterations. It took about 5 weeks for the dress to be ready (not leaving much room before the wedding for pick up). When I arrived to pick up the dress the bottom hem wasn't done so I had to wait 15 min while they hastily fixed it. Overall the dress looks fine, but I feel like I would have had better service and paid less elsewhere. Edited to add: Yikes!! Just changed my review from 2 stars to 1 after reading the owner's unprofessional response to my review that was full of false information- she never called me 5 times, I had my shoes with me the entire time, etc. Im truly shocked. I hope she's just confusing me with someone else and not entirely making up a story to make herself look better on Yelp. read more

This review is LONG overdue. If I could give Eva 10 stars I would! I purchased a gown for the Mrs. Illinois pageant from a friend for $50 & the gown needed A LOT of alterations, particularly in the top. It was strapless with a deep v neckline & absolutely no support. I loved the gown but was very concerned it was unwearable due to the lack of support. It just seemed like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. Let me tell you Eva worked magic and the dress looked AMAZING! She added wire, mesh & cups, completed a pretty lengthy hem & dealt with my constant suggestions and concerns with a smile. She charged me far less than most others would have and completed all the alterations in record time!!! I finished 2nd RU at Mrs. Illinois but I won the seamstress lottery finding Eva! I can't recommend her enough. This is a great place for alterations! I think the name changed at some point, but basically Rina's is the same place as Jee's Fashion Alterations, with the same owner. Eva, the owner, was very helpful with altering my partner's suit for a wedding--he's never had a suit fit him so well. She also altered a very tricky, gauzy pink gown for me--something other places might not have been able to do. Eva was clear with both garments that she would continue adjusting until we were happy with the results. Rina's is a great small business and deserves the support. As far as I can tell, Eva runs everything from the books to the alternations. Be communicative with her, and she'll exceed your expectations! read more

It's always a gamble walking into a place you've never been, let alone doing it with a wedding dress. I called yesterday to ask if they would do a job as simple as sewing on a button. The inside button has been missing from my favorite dress pants for weeks, and I failed miserably when trying to sew the thing in myself. That's right, I can't even sew in a simple button. The woman who answered the phone said, "yes of course!" So I stopped by after work thinking I would drop the pants off and come back in a few days. She remembered that I had called earlier, and said she could do it while I wait. I said, "I am actually in a hurry so I can come back tomorrow." And she said it would just take her a few minutes. Less than 2 minutes later, the button had been sewed in -- and when I took out my wallet to pay, she said not to worry about it and to have a great day! I insisted, but she said it was no problem. I recently scored a vintage Naeem Khan cocktail dress that is 100% covered in beading and sequins. Unfortunately, there was a small tear in the fabric on the seat, right under the zipper. Because it's completely backless (but with sleeves), I also needed ribbons added on each shoulder to tie across the nape of the neck in order to keep it from sliding down my arms all night.
