I knew Mike had a good talent for tile when he mentioned where on the wall the thought it was best to start the pattern. I had reviewed photos of other tile guys where it was clear that they just started on one end and finished at the other, making for some uneven middle parts. Mike had the design foresight. He also made suggestions for me about a wonky outlet I have, but ultimately we decided we couldn't move it. Other people who gave me quotes had no clue what to do with it. He's also clearly a cat dad and respected my rules about when the cats could and couldn't go out and had no problem with one cat supervising his entire job. I'm extremely happy with the finished product, his price was great, he cleaned up after himself, and he was always perfectly on time. If I ever need another tile job, Mike will be my first call.

I would highly recommend Mike Reed Tile. He does amazing work, communicates well, was always on time and actually shows up when he says he will (a trait a lot of contractors don't have) He transformed my sitting room fireplace and turned it into a space I can enjoy again. He also did a bathroom that came out amazing! Shame I have no kids at home anymore to use it.

I have an all-tiled shower and needed to replace my shower floor due to peeling tiles. I was worried that I would have to redo the whole shower, but Mike was able to redo just the floor. He purchased matching and more resilient tiles and installed them to match the design that was there before. He asked me if he could reposition the drain cover to make it look better, and I agreed. The result is beautiful. Mike is a skilled craftsman, easy to communicate with and all around nice guy. This is the second job he's done for me and I will definitely call him again for any future tile work.

    Tile floor

Mike is the best! He replaced the bathroom TILE FLOOR in my 100-year-old house, and did an excellent job! He really knows his craft and works hard and knocks out the job quickly. He goes "above and beyond" and even offered design suggestions from his years of experience. Plus, he has a great personality!

Steller 5 stars! Neighbors had praised him on Nextdoor and boy were they right. Mike did an amazing job laying natural slate across my bathroom slab floor. His price was right. His knowledge of tile and stone, honed by years of experience, you could see it in action watching Mike and Deloris at work. Those two guys' teamwork made it look so precise and smooth. Mike is easy to talk to and full of creative ideas. And one more thing, besides being a master of his art, Mike is a good-natured happy guy. This wasn't a huge job, but Mike sure has added to this Mid-Century Modern home that's on the Glendale Historical Register.

    Guest bathroom

Mike Reed re-did my guest bathroom and I'm thrilled with the results. He re-tiled the shower walls, shower floor and the bathroom floor. He was able to start the work earlier than planned and the quality speaks for itself. Best of all, Mike is a really nice guy and very helpful. He told me where to go to buy tile and he offered suggestions on what I was hoping to do in terms of design. I have another bathroom that I'd like to re-do and when the time comes, I'll be calling Mike.

Mike tiled two bathrooms for us. The experience could not have been better. Mike is a master craftsman and amazing problem solver. The results show it. Call Mike. You won't be disappointed!

Mike helped me renovate my master bathroom. He and his great assistant Dolores were professional, punctual, reliable, perfectionistic, and neat. He helped me find a crackerjack plumber and countertop person as well. I now have the bathroom of my dreams! I am happy every time I go into the bathroom. It is truly stunning. See for yourself.

I found Mike on Yelp. He is a true craftsman. I was sold when I saw his photos. Especially the ones of his own bathroom, which he restored to its period correct late '40s/early '50s state. Amazing work. Bonus: he is also a super nice guy. When I decided to GC my own kitchen remodel, people told me it wasn't a good idea. But thanks to contractors like Mike, it turned out much better than if I'd gone with a GC. Mike installed Fireclay tile, which is handmade and irregular. He was able to do the 1/16 joints we wanted by using little plastic wedges to make up for the irregularities in the tile. He used Mapei Ultracolor Plus FA grout per my request. It was precision work and turned out perfect. I wish I had some more stuff tile. Mike is the only tiler I would ever call.

Mike did an amazing job. He put in new subway tile for my shower with an accent tile and also made a really nice backsplash for my sink. The soapbox with it's thick glass shelf looked really nice as well. He was very helpful in explaining the whole process and even made some suggestions on how to make the whole thing even better. Most of the quotes I got from others were companies where they subcontract out the work, but Mike and his assistant Dolores were the ones who did all of the work on my bathroom and it was very clear that they take pride in what they do because the work was impeccable. His price was also very reasonable. I would highly recommend Mike Reed Tile without any hesitation!

Mike is an absolute professional! We are so pleased with his work and guidance. He and his assists top quality work and a reasonable price. The tiles I chose were not easy to work with, but he accomplished a fantastic end result.

If you are reading this you've either found out or are about to find out very quickly that good tile professionals in the LA area are unicorns. My front porch tile was lifting because the previous person who installed it didn't install it correctly and also didn't know anything about cutting tiles and it looked horrible. Also, full disclosure, that person was me, haha! Needless to say, tile work is not my forte in life and it was really getting to be an embarrassing mess not to mention a safety hazard. I've been wanting to do this project for a year and I've contacted at least 20 people, some on yelp and some referrals. I can count on one hand the number of people that actually responded and even fewer the number of people who actually followed through on coming out for an estimate and then sent the estimate (why someone would come out and then not send an estimate is beyond me but I digress.) Mike responded to my inquiry in a timely manner and was very up front with his availability which was about 2-3 months out. He came out for an estimate within a week and I had the estimate that weekend. It was more than fair for the scope of the project. I gave the project the green light and asked Mike to put me on his schedule as soon as possible and he agreed. As luck would have it, he was able to squeeze me in much earlier than expected and he and Delores worked diligently for three days to do the demo, laying the tile and grout. They ran a clean job site with zero trash left over and kept their radio at at a level where it could only be heard on the porch (something me working from home and my neighbors appreciated!) On the 4th day (Saturday) I had a charity yardsale scheduled at my house at 8AM and Mike showed up at 6:30 to complete the sealant so he wouldn't be doing it in the middle of the chaotic sale! If that isn't amazing service, I don't know what is! (He also bought some stuff at the sale to support dog rescue - thanks Mike!) One final note: For someone that is such a terrible tile person, I'm a little picky with tile work and Mike delivered. His corners and edges look fantastic which is not always a given. He even made the uneven corner on my porch look great! Do not hesitate to hire Mike! Even if he's booked, he's worth the wait! He's a true craftsman and a very good person!

Can you cut and install large format (24x47) porcelain tile?

we don't have a saw that big. unless all the cuts are covered by another tile. we could use a grinder but it probably wouldn't work

Do you do minor re-grouting and grout sealing? Also have a few cracked tiles that need replacing.

sorry i don't at this time.

    Do you install tile flooring?

She had good…read moresense of color and seemed very knowledgable, that l was until I found out the subway tile that I bought would not work with the shower pan as designed. I found this out when my contractor saw the subway tile and pointed out why (long explanation, but the water wouldn't drain). At no point during 4 appointments/visits my wife and I made, with hours spent picking out tile, were we ever asked about the type of drain or slope the shower would have, and this ultimately is what ruined everything. I called to tell Anna Marie about the issue, to which she said, she did tell us about this problem, but that we insisted on this tile. This is a lie or misremembered exchange. She then also inferred that my contractor must not be good enough to install it, again dodging accountability. I asked if we could get a store credit or do anything, to which Anna Marie said no refunds and then again said my wife and I made the mistake, not her. Now I am left with a bunch of useless tile, money wasted (which I cannot afford), and a remodel on hold. In the end, Anna Marie is nice and she understands how to put color together, but she cleary has no knowledge of what tile should go where, or at the very least neglected to mention it. Mistakes happen, but both Anna Marie and Westside Tile should at least take some accountability. Now I understand why Floor and Decor right up the street is a much better option.

Our recent project was to re-do our deck. We had two options: 1) hiring a deck contractor we didn't know the quality of work and the professionalism or 2) hiring Eshed who was not a deck specialist - he's an expert now! - but who had done an amazing job for us before. We decided to go with Eshed and we didn't regret it at all! For the second time Eshed did an amazing job for us. Our deck looks fantastic and everything went very smoothly. Eshed prepares everything before he starts the project so there is no bad surprise along the way. He shows up when he says he will. So it's really a pleasure to work with him because there is no stress at all! He's a perfectionist and that's exactly what makes a contractor an excellent contractor! Eshed - Thanks for the awesome work you and your helper Isai did at our place this time again I'm sure we'll come up with a project #3 for you. Stay tuned

If you are looking for a simple repair or a straightforward project, Eshed may be a great option…read more However, if you are looking for very utmost craft, precision (ie. 1/8" grout lines), working with curved tile shapes and expect a professional partnership throughout where there is no harassment and unsolicited comments beyond the scope of the agreed upon project, then this is not the small business for you. I, too, found Eshed via his five star reviews but was completely disappointed with the way the project unfolded. The initial project quote was 15 business days. Though I had to unexpectedly travel for work and attend jury duty, I ended up being without a kitchen for 2 months. Expectations were not met. Partway through the tile project, my closet broke and a closet expert came to assess my storage needs while Eshed was at the property working on the kitchen backsplash. While showing the closet designer my dresser drawer, it tipped over due to all the drawers being opened. We called Eshed in to help us rotate the dresser back upright and I thanked him for his help. I carried on with my closet consultation. At the end of the work day, while Eshed and I were discussing progress, Eshed made a comment about seeing all of the underwear in my dresser drawers and breezed past it as if it was part of standard conversation practice. In addition to this, while wrapping up on a Friday, he has sent me photos of where he's headed for the weekend and at one point even verbally suggested that I go with him to climb rocks on the beach. These instances, though not tied to the project, demonstrate a lack of professional standard that I expect from the highest quote that came in during my research for a quality tile installation. When all the tile was installed, right when the first wall's grout was applied in the kitchen, I was shocked to realize that the spacing that we were aiming for (1/8") was not at 1/4" or greater in some areas. I asked him if he used spacers to control the spacing and he said no. I asked him why he didn't use spacers and his response was aloof, telling me it was inefficient. This is not the bar of craft of excellence once expected from a project where the tiles cost more than the labour and the labour was already the highest bid across 5 businesses. Upon project completion, the matte black door knob on my front door looked like a blender had been taken to it because of all the broken tiles he was managing while going in/out of the property to cut tile pieces. I pointed this out and he did not make any suggestions to make this right or compromise. Lastly, he had an unprofessional meltdown in front of my electrician, a fellow tradesperson after passively suggesting that the electrical outlets need attention and that I should bring the electrician back (for the 3rd time). He raised his voice, got overly dramatic and read the text message he wrote me in front of the electrician to prove a point that only worsened his credibility. On the final day of completion, instead of calling me out of my office to confirm that the project was complete, he texted me while leaving the property and told me to send a check. No final walk through of the work was discussed. It is likely Eshed will respond publicly with a rebuttal, but I hope these examples as a whole give you the context you need when considering your next tile needs.
