I've now tried twice to have my Solterra EV serviced at Mike Shaw Subaru in Greeley, and both times were--let's just say--character-building experiences. I realize other Subaru dealerships are farther away, but honestly, if their service departments are even slightly better, it would be worth the extra miles and gas (or electricity). Visit #1: The glamorous 5,000-mile service with just a tire rotation and inspection (remember, it's an electric vehicle). I made an afternoon appointment, waited over an hour, and when I finally got back into my car, the "Maintenance Required" message was still happily glowing on my dashboard. The technician had three jobs: inspect a basically new car, rotate the tires, and reset the maintenance indicator. Two out of three isn't terrible if you're flipping a coin--but it's not great for a service department. Apparently, there's no final check to make sure the service work was completed accurately. Visit #2: Another technically challenging tire rotation at 10,000 miles, but this one didn't even make it to the "service" part. When scheduling online, I noticed every single time slot for the entire week was wide open--like a buffet of availability. Odd, but okay. I booked another afternoon slot, showed up, and the good news was that they knew I was coming. Bad news: after over an hour of waiting for just another tire rotation, they had only managed to move my car into the shop. I finally gave up, told a service advisor I had to leave, and escaped through an open bay door. No apology, no "let's make this right," no offer to reschedule at a less-busy time. Just me and my unrotated tires driving away in disappointment. It's been over a week, and still no follow-up from Mike Shaw Subaru. Eventually, it dawned on me: they don't actually adjust their schedule based on workload, number of customers ahead, or how many technicians are available. Every time slot is always open! It looks great online, but it's basically an illusion, like those medical offices where your "appointment" means you get to wait longer in a smaller room. If you've read this far, you probably already know where this is going. I cannot recommend Mike Shaw Subaru in Greeley for service. If they can't complete a 5,000-mile service correctly or within a reasonable amount of time, I wouldn't feel confident trusting them with anything more complicated. P.S. Review for initial service (oil change): GOOD: The waiting area and bathroom were clean and comfortable and the service advisors were friendly. It was free because I had purchased the car there. BAD: I had carefully scheduled to make sure I had plenty of time to get to my next appt. Appt was at 12:30, needed to be at another appt 10 min away at 2:00. Car checked in by service advisor at 12:37. Told approx 45 minutes for service. At 1:40, I asked when my car would be done and was told that they had just started it. The dealership provided a Lyft ride to and from my appointment, but I had to wait 20 minutes to be picked up to be taken back to the dealership. The car actually wasn't done until sometime after 2:00. I was looking forward to the interior being cleaned, but they only cleaned the driver seat and the area around it. Took my car in for an oil change with a coupon for 59.99. I received a text message with an update saying my engine filter needed immediately replaced. A quote of $72.00 was given to me to complete the oil change, tire rotation, wiper replacement, and filter. I accepted the work to be completed. Went to pick up car and was told I would need to pay $190.00. I showed the employee my text stating my fees should be 72 and she said there was a mistake but she would take off the oil change and I would need to pay $95.00. I explained to her that this was deceiving and she said this wasn't their intentions. I walked out paying a price I never agreed. Had some blue smoke appear on my new to me wrx. Scheduled a time for diagnostics. Tech asked to keep car over night. The next day I was told it was possible Pcv valve and part would be ordered. I was also told I could come pick up my car while the part get shipped. Upon picking my car up, I pay and leave. Got about 3 blocks away before my car went into limp mode, blew black smoke and stalled. Opened my hood, to see a nightmare. Greeley technicians failed to put SIX bolts back that hold my tmic into charge pipe and intake(TB). Entire tmic was flopping on my pitch mount and water from their wash down was all over my intake. The GM apologized like "whoops, oh well" and offered a 3 month "warranty" on the work that was done by an unprofessional, lying technician on a side road off 47th. I refused due to their incompetence when Mr. David Slone made the statement that I "would be making a big mistake" if I refused. The unprofessional GM then returned my $120 diagnostics fee which shouldn't have been charged to begin with. I now get to wait and see if my intake sucked in enough water to cause failure. If you are looking to have your Subaru serviced at this location, think twice! About 2 years ago, I had my 2006 Forester XT's spark plugs changed at this location. After their service, I noticed an audible and LOUD ticking noise coming from the drivers side of the engine, near the head. I figured nothing of it, the engine is old (180K+ miles) and probably needed a refresh anyway. Well, come January 2019, and my car throws a misfire at me. I completely lose cylinder 1. I limp my car home and diagnose the issue as a dead cylinder 1 coil pack. No big deal. I also decide to change all 4 spark plugs to see if that fixes the ticking noise. Lo and behold, the spark plugs in cylinders 2 & 4 (drivers side of the engine) are LESS THAN HAND TIGHT!!! I could pull them out with my fingers! Not only is this VERY unsafe for my car, but it could have left me stranded somewhere far from home (I took 2 cross country road trips in between then and now), but it could have caused much more severe damage to my vehicle that could have cost me upwards of 6,000$! I am absolutely livid and appalled. This kind of service and disregard for factory specifications should not be tolerated for a dealership. I will not be coming back, and will advise others to do the same! read more

Took my car here for the first time here a couple of days ago-the SERVICE DEPT was exceptional. We were greeted by everyone we dealt with with smiles and respect. Even though it was routine service -oil change, check of fluids and tires. I felt very comfortable with the quality of work, and my car was ready when they said it would be. I had the clutch replaced on a 2003 Subaru WRX in 2017 at 144k miles. It failed in 2020 at 155k miles. Service department offered no apology or responsibility. Suggested my driving habits changed. Laughable. Do your Subaru and wallet a favor and avoid this place. read more

My wife and I bought a 2015 Subaru Forester based on the good experiences I have had with my 2012 and my dad has with his 2011. Unfortunately we have had nothing but problems with it since we bought it. It has had the rear wheel bearing replaced (noisy), radio head unit (stopped working), flash update and oil pressure switch (false readings?), complete motor (rod knock), and then the check engine light came on again and it started having transmission issues. Now even with all these issues they have always been very understanding and helpful and I don't blame them for a lemon car. Due to all these issues and our first child on the way I could not see keeping the car as I just couldn't trust it. I was hesitant to get another Subaru due to the issues we had but with the way Subaru of America stepped up to the plate with VIP pricing and them taking care of us on the trade and not beating us up on it like the Toyota Dealer was trying to do it was a fair outcome for us. The 2019 Forester is much quieter, rides better, Doesn't have an engine rattle on startup, and with the new headlights is easier to see out of at night. When it comes to customer service and professional car repair. It doesn't get any better than Greeley Subaru! I called at 7:30am when the service department opened and they told me they would be waiting for my car arrival. I had an issue with the car not starting so I had to have it towed to the Subaru dealer. When I arrived, they were ready to start the diagnostics on my Impreza. They offered to give me a ride home and I took them up on the offer. When we were leaving the dealer, I saw a service technician already looking at my vehicle. I was home for about an hour and received a call at 10:30 am that my vehicle was fixed and ready to go. They sent out a driver for a pickup for me. Used this dealership's service department when our clutch went out when we were out of town. They did such an amazing job that when, a year later, we needed major work done we drove over 200 miles to bring the car here. Was completely worth it. My experience with dealerships in the past has been very poor, I'd normally do anything to avoid a dealership service department; but these guys were competent, efficient, helpful, aware of the needs of each individual customer and trustworthy. They were even patient with my "what's that funny sound?" paranoia, taking time out of their busy day to address my concerns seriously.
