When looking for a used vehicle I have trepidation about going to a dealership. But Pedersen had what I was looking for. I would not buy a used vehicle without having it inspected by an independent shop, so I went to Houska Motors, another great Ft. Collins outfit, and had my vehicle gone over with a fine tooth comb. Pederson quoted my wife a price for repairs in writing then when I inquired they said they made a mistake and quoted me a cheaper price. They unhooked my dash cam. They said my vehicle needed a oil pan gasket one time but I hadn't noticed leaks so didn't complete the service. Then for the next inspection said the car was fine. My brake thickness also somehow increased. These and more and overcharging for services has helped me find a better mechanic. read more

Never have I been so blatantly lied to multiple times, or had a simple test any mechanic can proform get so much push back, Or be preformed so unthroughly. Yes your vehicle is struggling under load, we wont test it underload,Only idle. Computer says everything is good, no issue get out of here and pay for incompetent diagnostics. Nosie is clearly coming from this part even when parked and someone is pressing on the gas. Nope it's just a normal noise of the differential according to this "service department". Something that doesn't even move in park. How is it making noise, magic I guess. Plus the sound teleported a yard according to them. I mean guys come on i can easy physically get under the truck and listen for myself. Sound is clear as day coming from tank not the differential. Unless im able to magically hear what should be coming in my left ear through my right ear. Get closer to tank can hear clearer, get closer to dif, it's clearly not making the noise. Yet they lie and told me they took a stethoscope to it. If they took a stethoscope to it then they should get a new head mechanic cause he doesnt know what a fuel tank or differential looks like. Anyway if you want to waste 5 days of your time go ahead and do business with the barbie race and ride mechanics. I brought my Prius in on Wednesday because the check engine light was on. Codes were read off the vehicle, and I was supposed to get a call back that day as to what they were. No one called back Wednesday or Thursday. I called them Friday and no call back. Today is Saturday, I called them again and did get a call back but they had no records as to what codes had shown up. Total waste of my time, terrible communication between people working there. I will never go there in the future. Very dissatisfied! read more

We bought a used Toyota a few years ago and when my kid doesn't have it at college, we sometimes service it here. Normally, we're Honda people so we that's our main comparison. The entry bay for the service station is poorly designed in my opinion. The two lines get backed up easily and intake can be confusing. The waiting room for service is a very unappealing place to spend the 1.5 hours minimum for a basic oil change. Worn and tired, feels like we stepped back into the 70s or 80s. Several chairs are taped together and stained. It's gross. The service techs don't seem friendly or particularly helpful either. Overall, I just don't get a good vibe here. read more

Hands down worst dealership I've been to. I've lived in Fort Collins 5 years and made my 3rd attempt at trying to give them business, but they have been consistently rude and arrogant . Specifically speaking, this time, to the guy at the right desk when you walk in (Thursday). Justin and his team had an incredibly hard task programming a key for our 26 year old Lexus. He refused to give up and eventually got 5 techs involved (one at each door and one to start the programming) to coordinate the steps within the 1.3 second time limit of this very old protocol. I see a lot of negative reviews about this place, but personally I had a very positive experience with Steve Barnes in sales. Bought a 2022 Toyota Corolla and he had no problem holding it for me without a deposit and on good faith. He was in constant communication about the status of the car repair (it had some light hail damage and scratches) and as soon as it was ready he let me know and worked out the finance part well considering that part and the way I was paying was a little complicated. Not only was my break repair twice as expensive as originally quoted and took two days vs. promised one day, but they never tighted the lug nuts on my front right wheel. Turns out they were left so loose you could spin them with your fingers. My wife noticed the truck made a weird "klunk! sound whenever you touched the brakes after she picked it up yesterday. Peterson Toyta told my wife it would "go away" after driving it a bit. They were technically right. The tire would have when fallen off the truck when I drove it to Denver tomorrow!! Not only are they idiots at Peterson Toyota, but we could have had a serious accident due to their negelagence and likely not listening to a woman. She was 100% right, there was something wrong, and they ignored her. Fortunately, I had the tires rotated at Discount Tire today. They found that the wheel was about to fall off (finger loose lug nuts). Stay away from Peterson Toyota if you don't want to die in a preventable accident! read more

Seems to be hit or miss here. I brought my Toyota in for regular maintenance. I told them the front right tire looked low. They said they would check it out. After the work was done, they brought my car around. They said everything is ok. wipers, tires, fluid levels, etc. But getting into my car, I noticed my tire was still low. They didn't bother to add air to it, check it out, nothing. Their 100 point inspection seems to be a joke. It makes me wonder if they're really looking things over read more

We've had one issue after another with this place. The service writers have been misinformed more than once, and the parts desk has mixed up or sold us the wrong parts multiple times. They even installed aftermarket parts on my car while telling me they were OEM. The staff didn't seem knowledgeable, and I couldn't rely on them to get anything right. Horrible experience overall. I unfortunately had some family emergencies at the time it got in, so I was happy to pass the car along to a buyer whom the timing aligned with better. We've been loyal customers of Pedersen Toyota for over 20 years. Their service department was average in the earlier years and usually thorough. The last several years, noticed they are not thorough in diagnosing service issues. One example is bringing in our Rav4 for service, inspection and the report showed the battery was fine. After picking up the Rav4, I drive a mile away to grocery store and then the car doesn't start up after grocery shopping. Fortunately we had AAA, and they came and diagnosed and the battery was on it's last leg. They have not been able to fix the noise on the front left side of the wheelbase and just ignored us (while the car was in warranty). I looked under the wheel base and noticed that bolts holding the wheel base in place were either loose or bolts missing. With our Sienna, they had no reasonable estimate and gave us some wild range of estimate to fix it that was several thousand dollars more than an AAA auto shop in town quoted. If I buy Toyotas in the future, will not buy it from Pedersen Toyota. The reason I have been buying Toyotas is family's decades long belief in the quality and reliability, but what use is a car that can't be properly serviced! read more

Literally do not understand this place. No one knows the full answer to anything. You have to escalate everything to a manager to get anything done. Either their systems are not efficient enough or they just don't care. Also, Maintainence has no idea what your warranties cover. Which makes no sense at all. Mike is cool. Brittany is cool. Service guys are at least nice. The phone attendants need customer service training. Probably the most frustrating customer service experience that I have had in the last 2-3 years. I have been using Pedersen Toyota on College Ave since I moved to Fort Collins in 2020. Generally my experience had been acceptable but today my appointment convinced me that it is no longer a place anyone should patronize. I made an appointment for 9:30 this morning to have my car serviced; primarily an oil change. I arrived at 9:25 and checked in. I told them I would wait in the waiting room and the service advisor Bill told me he would text me when the car was done. I went to the waiting room, took a walk and figured I had an hour to kill. I waited. An hour came and went. I waited. An hour and a half went by. I waited. At 11:15, I texted Bill about my car. I got no response. At 11:25 I texted again. No response. At 11:30 I went to see Bill in the service area. He said they were just about to start work on my car. Two hours had passed and Pedersen Toyota had not even started to do what I had an appointment to have done at 9:30. The service advisor never said there would be delays in doing the work. Instead they let me sit in the waiting room for two hours. Pedersen Toyota wasted two hours of my time. When I spoke to the service manager, his only suggestion was he could move my car forward in the line. In effect, he offered to screw some other customers to speed me up. It was too late for me. I took my keys and left. I will go elsewhere to have my car serviced from now on. I recommend any one considering Pedersen Toyota find a different company to use. read more

Appreciated their help today! Had a locking lug nut that I needed off my tire and usually dealerships will have a master key for those. I forget the guy's name that helped me today but he went above and beyond getting me helped out right away and finding the correct socket and a torque wrench to remove the stubborn locking lug nut (was a previously owned vehicle and I didn't have the key). If you are hearing impaired DO NOT use this service garage. You're only option is to stand in the garage and try to communicate with a tech sitting behind a computer screen while the garage doors are opening and closing, techs are yelling back and forth to each other and the vehicles are driving in/out. When you ask them to speak up they get annoyed and go back to burrowing their heads behind their screens. It is torture & I won't be back. The service area waiting area has chairs that are way past their useful life with split vinyl coverings and dusty fake flowers in a broken vase with jagged edges right at small child level. read more

I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS DEALER FOR SERVICE. My car was overdue for service, including an oil change. I called today to make an appointment and Denise Gourley took my phone call. I let her know I needed my scheduled maintenance done, including that I would like an oil-change and my brakes checked. She informed me that the next available appointment wasn't available until the next day despite the website showing a dozen available appointment slots. I let her know this and her response was, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't even see that!" Isn't that part of a scheduler's job- to see the appointment availability? So either she's bad at her job, or dishonest, or both. When I arrived, I was told by Alex Saunders that the wait would be exceptionally long since "four technicians called out of work today". That "the wait is normally 45 minutes to an hour but could be 2hrs or more today." Why didn't Denise inform me of the increased wait for the day? In any case, they offered me a shuttle or car-service back to my home but I instead accepted the offer to wait in their lobby. I received a text message from Alex Saunders which let me know that I could respond to that text message at any time during my visit. I waited patiently for 2.5 hours before sending a text message (a very gracious and polite message, I might add) asking for an update while also thanking them for their hard work on a day they seemed to be swamped with work. I didn't receive a response for half an hour. In fact, I never received a response so I went back into the enclosed entrance bay to the service area. There were no cars in that driveway but I found four employees standing around chatting with each other. The two I interacted with were, first, Casey Downs, and then Bill Fischer. I mentioned to Casey that I had been waiting three hours by this point, which wasn't the worst of it, but that it was a little aggravating that they themselves offered a phone number to text yet no one responded. Casey walked me over to Bill Fischer and, again, I let him know that it was a little aggravating to not receive a response to my request for an update of my car. Neither he nor Casey seemed particulary remorseful nor apologetic on behalf of themselves or the dealership. Bill gave me the excuse that he was by himself while Alex was on lunch. If he was by himself, who then was Casey and the two other gentlemen (whose names I did not catch)? Magically, though, my car was finished within five minutes. So, was my car coincidentally finished the minute I walked back to ask about it, or had it been finished and was just sitting there while they stood around and chatted amongst themselves rather than taking care of a customer? I was also informed that an oil-change wasn't completed because it didn't need it? By the mileage AND by the date of last service, my car was due for an oil change AND I'd specifically asked for an oil change, yet they decided to not do one? Did it not need one, or did they just decide they were too busy and skipped on it to lessen their day's workload? I'll never know with this group of untrustworthy employees. To add insult to injury, there were four greasy fingerprints left on the hood of my car from when the technician closed the hood. My car was not in pristine condition but what I do know is that there was not greasy fingerprints on the hood of my white car. Unfortunately, I no longer have the space or tools to change my own oil or brakes, but it is this sort of questionable and suspicious behavior that has caused me to perform my own vehicle service rather than paying technicians to do the work. I took my car in for a rattle and approved the $2k worth of services recommended. Afterward, I still had a rattle so I took the car in several months later and $1000 later I still had a rattle. Several weeks later, the car overheated on the side of the freeway. This time they recommended $13,000 worth of repairs. I don't trust these guys at all. I'm taking it somewhere for a second opinion. And when I find out that it doesn't need $13,000 worth of repairs I will be filing a small claims suit. Do not take your car to Pedersen Toyota! Just look at all the reviews. read more

Went in for a Warranty recall for exterior paint on Tacoma. Call Pedersen to follow up with the estimate more than once. Call again to talk to service manager Chris, leave message. No return calls, no emails to move forward to get this fixed. Apparently the estimate is lost, not in the system that we ever went in. It's like they don't want to do the warranty. The phone calls with them puts the blame on me that I didn't get the advisor's name. I just want this to get fixed. Horrible communication, no accountability to get this fixed. read more

1 star because I liked the guy who checked me in and 1 star because I got my vehicle back in one piece. Poor customer by the service manager. Made an appointment for my 2019 4runner to be serviced. I arrived at 11:50 for my 11:55 appointment that I had standing for almost a week now. I had to wait about an hour and a half for my vehicle, and all they had to do was rotate the tires and inspect the vehicle, NO OIL change. I feel like that's way too long for a simple service that doesn't even include an oil change. If the schedule is too full, don't schedule so many vehicles at one time. I had mentioned the last time I had my vehicle serviced at Groove Toyota, they said I would most likely need the filters replaced the next service (25,000 mile service). I mentioned it to the service guy who helped me get checked in and after about an hour 15 minutes, he came to me and said "we recommend you replace both filters". I said ok, and he said it would cost $80. I needed the filters changed, and when I tried to speak to the manager about the charge, I received very poor customer service. My vehicle is under warranty, and I was told by the service manager, Matt, that filters are not covered under my warranty. I received conflicting statements between the service manager and the service person who checked me in. I was told it would be covered if Toyota recommended they needed changed. THE SERVICE TEAM AT YOUR DEALERSHIP DID RECOMMEND THEY NEEDED TO BE CHANGED!!! The service manager was rude and just kept saying, it's not covered under warranty, with no attempt to work with me. I told him I wouldn't bring my vehicle back to that location due to poor customer service, and he just said "Ok, have a nice day." I immediately called Groove Toyota to speak to their service department, because that's where I purchased the vehicle from, and they told me the same thing, that Toyota won't cover filters unless the service team recommends they need changed. He also mentioned that typically the filters get changed at 30,000 miles because that is what Toyota recommends. My vehicle has a little over 28,000 miles, and I drive on a lot of dirt roads. I don't have a problem paying the $80, but the customer service was poor via the service manager and there was no attempt to alleviate the charges or anything. They charged about $40 for the two filters and another $40 for the labor, which I feel is excessive considering I waited over an hour before they even started on the filters. This is not how you treat customers. I spent almost $50,000 on my vehicle at a Toyota dealership, just to be treated like another customer in the crowd at this service location. NOT WORTH IT. I will drive my vehicle to another location, whether it's Greeley, Cheyenne, or Groove in Englewood. read more

There was a young who helped me. D'Lornn McMullen. A true American hero as he is serving as a Marine, but also the epitome of customer service and kindness. It was time to get a new or in my case used vehicle and he did a great job helping to look at options and figure out what made the most sense for my specific situation. Normally I try and push pretty hard on the deal, but did not in this case as I just had such a respect for him. I scheduled an appointment OVER a month ago. Waited patiently while my car told me it needed service. I arrived and was told that I didn't have an appointment and that my simple tire rotation would take over 3 hours to complete because they were already backed up. Do yourself a favor and don't wait the month to get your car serviced just to be turned away at the door. Bad customer service and consistent issues with this service department.
