I'm in my 60s, and have been around the block quite a bit with fitness trainers, coaches, etc. Grady is hands-down the best I've experienced. He demonstrates his mastery of the science and practice of training and integrates that into his workouts, etc. With Grady, I began expanding not only my strength and endurance, but also my flexibility and mobility. He will work with you on whatever your goals may be, including weight loss, diet, etc. Over the years, I have noticed that many coach/trainers shave off 5-10 minutes a session by leaving you on a treadmill or the like or simply ending before your time is up. Grady always gives me the full time I pay for. He also follows up on your goals and progress on a regular basis. He speaks from a standpoint of knowledge and expertise but is able to communicate without being snooty or judgmental. And he's just a friendly and personable guy who is easy to work with, but also a challenge. I started reformer Pilates in March of 2018 to try to relieve the symptoms of chronic plantar fascitis and to find a method of exercise that would build strength and balance as I head into my 50th decade. The results were excellent however, I had to move on from that studio for other reasons I will not go into here. I tried the Pilates at Double Diamond Athletic Club...this is not true Pilates. Aside from 1 instructor, the others are personal trainers using reformers as gym equipment. The "mind/body" connection is lost also because there are loud aerobic classes going on nearby. I found Lisa W. at Mind Over Movement and I am very happy. I did not know a reformer could be so solid, smooth and just FEEL it was made with great quality. Lisa's teaching and queing is excellent. The music she plays is spa-like, allowing you to get into the "mind" of the movements you are executing. I had never used the towers before and that is an awesome add to the reformer. I also feel Lisa's pricing is fair. I buy the 6-pack. Paying in advance for 6 classes is good pricing AND MOST ESPECIALLY, I never have to worry about making up classes I may have missed due to my own schedule. Additionally, there are two restrooms that are oversized and CLEAN...perfect for changing clothes before/after class. She also has mini bottled water on hand that she does not charge for. Caution though...don't take advantage of this as a freebie. BYO water and use theirs only if you need. Be a courteous student! See my other reviews on other Reno Pilates studios.
